Whats your insight?

"Until they become conscious they cannot rebel, and until after they have rebelled they can become conscious"

- George Orwell, 1984

What do you think this means?

To me it's a vicious cycle. To rebel is to become concious but one much break from the collective concious first to rebel. But to become concious you must rebel. It's contradicting. We are all slaves of a collective concious until someone, somehow, breaks free and instills that conciousness into us.

Whoops that may have made zero sense cause it's almost 3AM lol i tried to remember the book context though so yeah

they must realize they're being abused to be able to rebel, but yet they won't realize they're being abused (become conscious) until after they have rebeled.
