appearance

— Imagine a breeze flowing through the outside campus of geumjanhwa; and in the middle of it stands Hyunmi. Her hair is as always, perfect- seemingly untouched by the wind, makes people wonder how never a strand seems to be out of place. Standing 168cm tall, she moves gracefully, practially floating across campus, her face that used to be gentle is now expressionless as her long legs carry her. She weighs 49kg and being on the swim team has done her body justice with toned legs, slim waist, and gentle curves that aren't too noticeable but still there. Her body is a golden ratio of torso to legs, a tall but lean frame that fits loose shirts and tight skirts perfectly. Indeed, even after her death, her beauty does not fade away.

outfit

— Her usual outfit is her school uniform, she wears her uniform standardly and is probably only one who can truly pull off a school uniform as if one were on the runway. Hyunmi wasn't buried in it, but she died in it and spent most of her life in it. The fact that she didn't graduate probably caused her to continue wearing her uniform even after death.

Life asked Death 'Why do people love me and hate you?'

Death told Life 'You're a beautiful lie while I'm an ugly truth.'

The Hyunmi that was alive is very different than the ghost she is right now. Her soft lips that often spread out into a smile is now only set into a grim line. She has turned bitter and resentful. There is not much light in her left, only despair that cannot be measured. The memories before her death replay over and over again in her mind, voices usually clearer than the images. Hyunmi wouldn't actually hurt anyone as a ghost, but it doesn't mean she is a friendly one. If you actually happen to see Hyunmi, she'll simply give you a cold look; yet again, if you look closely, you'll be able to see how regretful and she is through her eyes that was once full of life. The closest thing to life that you'll get from her now is her bitter sarcasm and witty-comebacks that used to be playful rather than bitter when she was alive. She tends to be emotionally unstable so don't be surprised if she suddenly snaps or sobs. For a ghost, she is one to not do much but stare from the rooftop and think about how life would be if she didn't die. At times, Hyunmi finds herself in denial that she died and would make herself known to the living students, trying to communicate with them and hoping she could re-live her school days again. However, whenever she realizes she's being in her denial phase, she would always beat herself up for it and would probably sob for hours. Her whole being is rather depressing actually. She is a perfectionist and hates to admit any mistake she makes; this causes her to stick along to bad situations longer than she should have. She believes anything is possible to be done as long you put effort into it, making her blame herself for not putting enough effort when she faces with failure.

When Hyunmi is not being emotionally unstable, she settles with going to the music room and playing around with instruments, especially at night where students aren't in school and since the room is soundproof, no one could come up with another one of those stupid ghost rumours. She just wants to be somewhere she could find peace and tranquility. Hyunmi is honestly a kind soul, just quite tormented. Well, she has a beautiful mind that's always curious and never judgemental. She might have trust issues and could get fearful but it's only because she trusted the wrong person, it resulted her being dead. She's naturally talkative, though appearing cold and unapproachable at first. When she was alive, she would welcome anyone who approached her and that was made her so popular. As for now, being a ghost, she makes sure to be observant enough so that she doesn't welcome the wrong type of people. Though she reminds herself to be skeptical towards other people, she has a childlike naivety in her because that was how she was like when she was alive -  she wished to see the best in others, but eventually died because of her wishful thinking. One of the values she holds deep to her heart is to always be responsible and accountable, she brought those values of hers even until death - resulting her never truly letting go of the things she viewed that she was responsible for in life. She also loathes being micromanaged and restrained by heavy-handed rules, wanting to be seen as independant of her own self.

- background -

— Hyunmi was born in the year 1998, on December 1st. Hyunmi got her good looks from her mother while her personality was mostly influenced by her father. Her mother was a singer in a bar and currently a housewife while her father works in a hawker centre near her school. Although, it sounded like the family had it tough, they didn't. Hyunmi's father has a high income while her mother occasionally accepts requests to sing during weddings and other special events. They led a moderate life and Hyunmi was given everything she needed.

During the year 2007, her younger brother, Hyunjae, was born and things got slightly harder from then on. Their parents had a hard time in their finances, especially when Hyunjae started schooling. Hyunmi had learned to be considerate to her parents by then as she could tell they really had a hard time and so, tried her best to save up money. Hyunmi even quitted her piano lessons, believing that she could self-learn it like how she did for the guitar. In all, Hyunmi was a good daughter, though a bit lazy when it comes to house chores.

Hyunjae and Hyunmi shares a good relationship as siblings and are often playful with each other, taking every chance to joke around. Secretly though, Hyunmi is really protective over Hyunjae. She sincerely wishes the best for him in life and constantly reminds him to be thankful with whatever they have in their life. She also loves talking about her dreams with Hyunjae where they would walk the path of music together in the future. Family is really important to Hyunmi so no matter what she does, she would think of her family first. That's why as she fell to her death, her first thought was her family.

- death -

— Her death was an unsettling one. The authorities dismissed it as a suicide. Witnesses claimed seeing her falling off from the school's rooftop and that they saw no one else on the said rooftop either. Naturally, this incident would be ruled of as an accident as there were far too less evidence to point it to anything else.

Hyunmi remembered who pushed her down very clearly. Afterall, she had photographic memory. He immediately hid and ran, pretending to only find out about her death the next day and being the damn good actor he is, he sobbed in front of everyone. If only she had one more chance to re-live the moment of her death again, she'd definitely pull him down with her.

Whoops, things seem confusing for you, aye?

You see, Hyunmi was really a beautiful lady. Wherever she goes, people are attracted to her. Sadly, she attracted the wrong attention and thus, resulting her being dead. There was this guy named Donghyun who approached her and became rather close with her. Too bad she never bothered to say anything about the death glares he gave anyone who interacted with her. The guy was basically obsessed with her and when the others slowly started avoiding he because he threatened them, she realized there was something weird - especially when her girl best friend transferred schools. Hyunmi continued to try get some answers out of other students to why they're avoiding her, only to have them run far away when Donghyun is by her side. Finally, she was smart enough to bring the pieces together and when she confronted Donghyun for it, he ran away from her and was absent in school for several days.

While he was absent, it turns out her deduction was right and people was definitely avoiding her because they were told to. Later on, she got a note telling her to go to the school's rooftop and being the curious person she is, she did and the moment her back faced the door to the rooftop, Donghyun came charging and pushed her down, she remembered his crazed face and that chilling voice of his as the camera clicked, "Ah.. how beautiful."

As Donghyun got home, he added her beautiful photo of death to the pile of photos he took of her, content that he was the last one to see her living beauty and the first to see her dying beauty. Truly, it meant that he was someone honourable to be able to witness it firsthand.

- binding -

— Her death was sudden and just like that. She didn't even have time to think or shout. There was so many things left undone and so many people she wasn't ready to say goodbye to. Her parents were getting older and she was their oldest daughter who had a promising future ahead of her. The fact that she died frusrates her and she is extremely worried about her family's well-being, especially her younger brother who is 9 years apart from her. The thought of them being without her scares her because her family is her utmost priority. She had also really wanted to graduate and live her life alongside with others.

Another reason why she hasn't left the world in peace was because deep down, she wanted revenge. Usually, Hyunmi isn't one to hold grudges or to get angry for too long but the fact that there was no justice served, makes her angry and she wanted to go personally kill him herself. She couldn't believe there was no one who even doubt that she suicided. Sure, she was sad that everyone else ignored her in school and that it was rather terrifying to have someone obsess over her but she wouldn't ever suicide because of that.

Basically, Hyunmi isn't one to let things go. She's one remember the past and beat herself up for it. Deep down, she believed that she could have lived on if only she had been strong enough to hold on to the she still had in her before it slipped away.

After Hyunmi died, he had to stop his business for a while just so that he could mourn with the family. It was really saddening for him because his one and only little princess died just like that. Honestly, he alongside with the family members doubted she suicided but what were they to say? It's been two years since Hyunmi's death and though usually being a guy who doesn't cry, he would shed tears just by thinking of his beloved daughter. He is usually a man full of energy and could be as talkative as he could get but after Hyunmi's  sudden death, you'll notice how the light in his eyes died a little. However, he has to put up a tough front so that the family has someone who is stable they could depend on.

She suffered depression after Hyunmi died and often cries at home alone. Hyunmi and her share a really close relationship as mother and daughter, so the pain runs deep. She was the one who kept telling the police and authorities to check over and over again for the reason of Hyunmi's death, never believing that her daughter suicided. Honestly, she holds a lot of guilt in her as she thinks that she has never truly pushed Hyunmi to live her life to the fullest. Not to mention, she was one of the few who knew about Hyunmi's dream in the future and the reason why Hyunmi doesn't want to chase after it when she was still studying.

It was quite scarring for him to hear that his older sister, who he believed was a magical fairy, died by jumping off a rooftop. . The first year of her death was hard for the family because Hyunjae kept asking for Hyunmi, causing both the parents to not know what to do. The second year, Hyunjae slowly got used to the fact that his older sister was not there anymore. There are countless nights where he felt lonely and sad but tries his best not to throw as much tantrums as he did in the past because Hyunmi used to always advise him to love their family and to be a 'good' boy. Hyunjae could be counted rather thoughtful for his age, but still, being the child he is, he continues to hope that his sister will come back one day if he is a good enough boy.

When she heard about Hyunmi's death, she couldn't believe that her best friend actually suicided. The very reason she transfered school was to avoid Lee Donghyun (yes, the dude even threatens girls). It was quite a cowardly move for her to make and she's been regretting so ever since. She wished she was brave enough to stay by Hyunmi, but Donghyun promised to 'kill' anyone who comes near Hyunmi. Heck, Donghyun was the one who suggested Nara to transfer schools. She's currently a psychology student who's more on the quiet side when it comes to socializing. Nara has always been bad with people, but her days with Hyunmi always made sure there was a balance. Hyunmi was her true best friend and the only one who truly understood her.

JB-hottie-got7-37897480-500-600.jpgLee Donghyun | 1998, April 12 | ? | Close Friend / Killer

Lee Donghyun was in love- no, obsessed with Hyunmi. He believed that the very reason he existed was for Kwon Hyunmi and only Kwon Hyunmi. Basically, everything he did revolves around her and he was really just content with looking at her from afar in the beginning. Later on, he build up his courage to talk to her, he was surprised that it was so easy to be friends with her. She was really a beautiful angel to him, too bad an originally sweet puppy love turned into such obsession he has for her later on. He realized almost everyone was able to get close to her and felt especially jealous for Nara, who Hyunmi considers as her 'best' friend. After her death, he transferred schools. It's unknown to whether he is alive or dead. Hyunmi is convinced he is still alive, though.

why do you haunt geumjanhwa high school?

Hyunmi sighs and runs her fingers through her hair, "You really get straight to the point, don't you?" Trying her best not to go on a full rant, she replies back, "I'm pissed that everyone graduated while I didn't. Not to mention, this school holds a lot of my memories. If only I could re-live some of them, I'd definitely make sure I didn't meet certain people." She chuckles bitterly, "I guess I'm a sore loser and I want someone to give me my justice."

do you ever go anywhere else?

She shifts in her seat, a bit uncomfortable with this question, "I'd rather stay here in school but well, I get worried about my family at times, so I visit them. However, I usually don't stay around them too long." Looking at the ground, she mumbles underneath her breath, "If I do, I'd go crazy knowing the fact that I'm not alive anymore to be with them."

when you were still alive, what did you want to do after high school?

"I'd want to go to one of the top universities and then get a job with a high pay. I want to give my family a life of leisure. Guess that's impossible now." She sighs another time, "I also had a dream to be a part-time singer or guitarist in a band." Hyunmi closes her eyes as a wave of peace rushes in her when she thinks about her dreams, "Music is what I'm always interested in, but I had to focus on my studies so I thought that once I settled down in life in the future, I could chase after the dreams I never did."

if you ever pass on, where do you think you're going to go?

Hyunmi hums, "I'm not too sure myself. You see, I believe that there is God, but I'm just not sure which one is the real one. Honestly, I just want to be with my family again."

what's one thing you wish you could've done while you were alive?

"If I were alive, I wouldn't only do one thing. I'd do everything to make sure I live my life to the fullest. If I'm being honest, I'm not satisfied with the way I lived my life. There's so many possibilities left for me to discover but it was all robbed away from me - alongside with my life."

last comment Heyyy, ahaha. I love this applyfic idea <3 Basically Hyunmi is a popular cheerful girl that turned into a bitter ghost when she died. I like the whole idea of the applyfic so much ehehehe. ;)) Hope My little baby Hyunmi suits your story and I hope it's not too cliche of a death. Oh well, I was aiming for something dark-ish so yepp. If you know anime tropes, I was making Donghyun into a yandere actually. Heh, oh well. You could make Hyunmi scary-ish, I guess - especially during her emotionally unstable moments, ya know. ;) Hehehe.

scene requets

— Scary moments in the story. :3 Even better if you use Hyunmi for it lol.

— Hmm hmm, maybe just maybeee sweet moments with someone, anyone lol, doesn't matter ghost or living. (I'm sounding desperate heh)
