Hm...

I realised I'm still stuck in the past when it comes to AFF, when people were a lot friendlier in general and stuff.

I mainly belong in the 'roleplay bubble' of AFF now. What other 'bubbles' are there here? Applyfics, the social side of AFF, and then there's the actual fanfic side of AFF. I'm sure there are many smaller groups as well I don't even know about cause I'm not as super involved on this website anymore as I used to be as a kid (okay, not kid technically...teen? I did join AFF when I was 12 though, holy crap--).

Somehow I keep on seeing the word "toxic" being thrown around everywhere these days, and it makes me wonder...is this what AFF has become of now?

I'm seriously feeling detached from whatever's happening on this site now, especially since I'm no longer up to date with K-pop. Is this what growing up's like?

This is the first personal blogpost I wrote up this year (minus that spazz post about seiyuus at the start of this year cx) and it just happens to be this.

I don't know where I'm going with this post.

---

A little life update from me, I guess. I am now legal at age 18. I graduated high school last year and now I am studying nursing at TAFE. I initially got into Bachelor of Health Sciences at Deakin University but I dropped out within the first semester cause the research culture of university was just not for me. I don't care about academics. I just want a job. So, I entered into something more practical, but still health-related. This Diploma of Nursing will only take 1.5 years. After graduation, I will be working an an enrolled nurse. I know nurses are in demand in Australia, and I was wanting to use my life to help my people, so here I am. The pay in the future may not be the greatest, but at least is better than what my dad is earning. Life is good.

Currently I am super active in the (male) seiyuu fandom. I'm still too lazy to watch anime in general, but I mainly keep up with the titles so I know which seiyuu has worked in which series. Also, anime music is ridiculously good. K-pop sounds too messy for me now, and I've always loved the Japanese language. There's a whole flood of idol boygroup animes recently (most were originally video games or drama CD series or something) and their music strangely appeals to me. Tsukiuta's stuff is definitely the top in my list. The whole concept + production is super impressive.

Speaking of anime music, that new super gay iceskating anime 'Yuri On Ice' has started broadcasting this week AND HOLY CRAP I WANT THE ENDING SONG OUT ALREADY WACCHAN Y U DO DIS TO ME I DON'T WANNA WAIT A MONTH FOR THE FULL VERSION--

I know I was super fangirly over Hirakawa Daisuke at the start of this year when I got back into the seiyuu fandom after leaving primary school SEVERAL YEARS AGO but since then my knowledge of other seiyuus has broadened. Currently been saving pictures of Kakihara Tetsuya (I do not believe this Japanese-German kid is turning 34 this year!) and Eguchi Takuya (at 187cm, he's HELLA TALL for a Japanese guy) on my laptop because I've been roleplaying as them + I find them attractive. XD Aside from these guys, I may or may not have developed a love/hate thing over Shimono Hiro too (PRISCILLA WHY). His '' voice is super adorable, he laughs like Elmo, I love how adorably M he is with other seiyuus (protect this precious lamb pls even the guys want his --) and I still want to sleep on his beautiful 'pigeon' chest. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. The cutest '80-liner ever. <3

Getting into seiyuus have made me appreciate old men whilst the K-pop idols are getting younger and younger every year.

(should probably close off this blogpost before it turns into another seiyuu spazz post)

Good luck with studying nursing ! :3

AGH IM DYING QAQ
<<Seiyuu trash here
I was never in the k-pop fandom I'm so sorry--
I've really only made an account because I wanted to increase the seiyuu fanfics in this site why HAHAHA

In my opinion Japanese music is more diverse than Korean, which makes it completely appealing in my end. (The language is also hella complex and beautiful,,....)
Genres like pop, rock, rhythm and blues, traditional, etc., and mixes of these make it so that people with different tastes will come to like Japanese music, even if only a small part of it.
(( I enjoy classical music so Japanese songs resembling that make me weak, and rock makes me feel pumped up and everything (//looks at Suzuki Tatsuhisa, Taniyama Kisho).

The seiyuu fandom (both male and female) is probably one of the most hidden fandoms out there. It's so hard to find people who know them. Guys will like the female seiyuus, girls will like the male seiyuus.
While the seiyuu world is diverse in its own, the fandom isnt particularly standing out, which is quite saddening, seeing how k-pop has grown this much :(

Sooo.....Let's spread the seiyuu love~~ XD

Differences:
- I'm obsessed with anime lol OTL. And my wallet is emptier than ever because financing anime merch is expensive due to Japan's economy LOL. A CD single with one song and one instrumental version costs like, $20AUD (excluding shipping) while a full kpop album is $23AUD? And don't even get me started with special edition, side A/B/C and all that stupid marketing I consciously fall for. orz
- I'm still in high school. Ahhhhh started year 12 this week. So weird. We met when I was in year 8. Also good luck with your studies with nursing! I'm glad that you've decided to pursue this route to help people.
- I don't roleplay on AFF anymore haha.

Similarities continued:
- Enjoy listening to 2.5D idol music. My heart flutters whenever I listen to the music. Oh btw my favourite song series from Tsukiuta are Arata Uzuki's and Rui Minazaki's. The rock. The feels. I love. Also omg are you by chance watching Utapri? What other idol anime have you or are you watching? I love Starmyu and Love Live. In terms of song series and games, I love Idolish7 and Trigger, Idolmaster SideM, Ensemble Stars, SolidS (it's got Eguchi Takuya. You've probably already heard of them though), the units from Dynamic Chord, B-Project (the anime was cringe though haha), and the Alive series (favourite unit is SOARA). Okay sorry this point is a bit too long for "similarities" but I'm getting really excited and I can talk about this topic in essay format.
- Getting into anime (or maybe just seiyuu for you? But similar) way back in primary and fangirling over a particular seiyuu (it was Miyano Mamoru for me. In year 6 we made a memories book and we had to do a "my hero" page, and I legit dedicated a double page for him. It was lovely :')) before falling away from anime and into k-pop for the first few years of high school (more like 2 years lol but it felt long. I got back into anime around 3 years ago and it's felt so short for some reason? I still appreciate the k-pop phase though).
- Hiro Shimono. Omg yes XD His voice - can I just say that this man is extremely gifted with an extremely versatile voice that can probably scream at a higher pitch than me while maintaining a smooth and voice at the same time?

Bruh okay I haven't read your entire blog post yet but I am freaking out right now because everything about what you're saying is eerily parallel to my life.

Our similarities so far:
- Seiyuu trash, and consequently into older men. Hikaru Midorikawa is like, what, 5 years younger than my dad.
- Hooked onto Yuri!! on Ice, especially the ending theme. The ending theme.
- No longer into k-pop because it sounds messy. Also personally for me I can't emotionally connect with the music anymore. Speaking of which...
