PERSONALITY — 

On first impression while you're in the same room with her, she may look y. But Almi isn't 'the mean girl' although she comes off that way, sometimes. She knows she has the  talent and charisma thus flaunt them. She doesn't gets shy with new people although things can be awkward and if you're one the trainee, she will look at you from up to down. She looks vain and arrogant, but her fans will probably call her extremely confident and a feminist icon. 

The key to her personality is that she is a free spirited. Conformation is her curse. Rules and regulations are made for other people. Almi must be free and uninhibited. An extroverted bundle of energy, gifted and utterly irrepressible. Her behavior is natural and isn't meant for show. Her originality is the most impressive and outstanding of all her characteristics. She is quite imaginative and always able to see outside of the box. She is very adaptable and works hard, but would rather gives orders than receive them. Still there's exception, she does listen to someone who deserves and have the right to give orders as she perceived. 

Because she is confident, she is normally fearless in the face of challenge, so brave that standing beside her banishes fear. Almi generates excitement and turn heads anywhere she goes. However, too much enthusiasm can leave her tired and unfulfilled. Even though she is willing to aid when necessary, her pride can often impede her from accepting the kind helps from others.  She hates solicited advice and can be hopelessly tactless and insensitive. Add to that her temper.. many people will want to run when her temper is provoked, to be honest. 

On the other hand, she has a generous personality that give her the ability to attract friends, although she can be rather solitary person at heart. Due to her tumultuous temperaments, Almi is not the most sensitive friend to those in need of a shoulder to cry on. But deeper look she is a loving soul who will become your best ally in times of need. Once she has given her friendship, she will not let her friends down and will never dissapoint them. To her, a friend is a friend for a lifetime. Incredibly honest, she is known for sincerity and is a trusting soul. Because of this honesty, she doesn't realize others may not demonstrate or uphold the same codes of ethics. 

On the stage, who is the baddest female Seoul has ever seen? Alright it's CL. But Almi is nothing short of amazing. Her appearance is breathtaking. Her skills are jawdropping. Almi, sadly, has more testosterone than most male fans. One rap performance is all it will really take for you to experience the fierce badass that is Almi. Strangers could find her too y and threatening.  But sorry, you should be terrified of her. Despite Almi being some rap prodigy, the Almi that around her members after the music stop and in dorm can be sweeter than candy. She did show her respect to her seniors. She looks after her members despite not being one of the most sensitive, and up to takes on any huge responsibility as one of the group members seriously. She’s extremely grateful for her fans.

BIOGRAPHY — 

Crying on top of her lung on May 15th, 1997. That was the first time the world heard of Almi Ulrich. She was born in Seoul, of Korean descent through her mother's side, and through her father's side, who was in the U.S. Armed Forces in Korea, she is of German and Italian descent. That's explain why her look and appearance is still halved of a Korean, she is indeed half Korean. Born with a silver sppon in mouth, the little baby she was, gotten limitless loves and affections.

As a young child, she had never seen herself as any different from other kids, she was too young to understand that she was a mixed child, though she learned about that as she grew up. She moved to Texas at the age of 6 and stayed there for 9 years. Life in Texas was hard at first, she missed the place she thought home which is far away in South Korea. She learned to talk in English from her parent, as well as receiving home tutor, she figured out her family is where home at. 

Almi was a fantastic fun loving child. She was spoiled but still taught of the values such as respecting the elders, the parent really wanted to add morals into their only child. When she was young, her adorableness shines. She uses her aegyo as it should be, and has a naturally cute personality despite can be loud and challeging with her childish requests. It’s hard to get mad at her when you saw what an absolute sweetheart she look back then. She got scouted by a child modeling agency at a tender age of 12. From there, she had modeled for children clothes, her face featured in the children section in some malls there.

When Almi started junior high school, her parent granted her to study in normal school instead of home schooling. As the family had been staying in army units all the while, she made friends with kids of the same parent like hers, also normal kids at school. She often went to the Texas Music Centre with her friends, It is a place where teenage bands and even dancing groups do performances, especially during weekends. It is a small stage for the Texas youngsters who inspired to be a performer. She didn't get the chance to perform there, but she had kept a promise to herself that she is going to perform on a big stage, one day. Rather than being a dancer or singer, she was inspired to be a rapper. This we need to blame Eminim's influence, or more like her father's, her father is a fan of Eminem and he ended up influence his little child by accident. She had listen to his rap even before the family moved to Texas. 

During the third year of the junior high school, there was a full korean girl in the same class as her. It hadn't been that long since the girl had arrived so her English was poor and she became the victim of bullying ostracization by some of the foreign students. Almi wasn't exactly heroic but this annoyed her. Because the girl that was bullied is a Korean and she IS still half of the ethnicity, she felt her own pride fell from the cliff... One day at the class, while the bullying continued for the 3rd day, Almi threw juice at the head of bully and smile, nopes not a friendly one, while doing so.. But she also refused to receives the bullied girl's gratitude, she wanted her to stop being whishy washy and a pushover. The group were bring to the principal office and later counselours, along with Almi although she was let out of the hook earlier for reason. 3 months later, the family went back to Korea after her father's retirement in late 2011.

While in Korea, her mother's best friend which is also PLEDIS Girlz' Kim Minkyung's mom was the key connection between Almi and her joining into PLEDIS, she heard about PLEDIS audition through her friend who work there as a composer. Know well enough that Almi is a good rapper, regardless of her age, she suggested that Almi auditioned together with Minkyung to join the company, so Almi did that with flying color when she was 15. 

• Father - Albert Ulrich (45) - Retired Army - caring, detailed, strict - He is overprotective when it comes to Almi. He loves to shower Almi with love and affection although he gets strict when she does wrong in front of him. Almi was his pride and joy. The darling daughter he had always wanted. He is the best father that she can wish for, he is one of the most important person in her life, if she have to choose anything in the world to stay forever, it's her father and mother.

• Mother - Choi Sooyoung (42) - Make-up Artist - friendly, optismist, energetic - They don't have any trouble interacting as Almi grew up close to her mother and she does resembles her loads in term of being an extrovert, but Sooyoung is likable by others more that Almi, she is less ambitious. She is the best mother that Almi can wish for, she is one of the most important person in her life, if she have to choose anything in the world to stay forever, it's her father and mother.

• Best friend - Kim Minkyung (19) - trainee at PLEDIS - caring, awareness, easygoing, insecure - Their mothers was the key connection between Almi and Minkyung's friendship, because they was well acquainted with each other ever since they were young, their friendship smoothly being passed down to their children. Almi and Minkyung began to play together since they were toddler. Although when Almi was 6, she already moved to Texas until 5 years later. All along they still keep in touch. They have many similarities and understand each others well. Whenever Almi feels sad and down, she will find Minkyung. Minkyung, despite being the same age, always have a way to comfort her, to encourage her. Minkyung is the one doing the skinship, no matter how big or small. Later Almi will do the same. 

• Self proclaimed fan - Kim Mingyu (19) - member of SEVENTEEN - funny, briliancy, positive, flirty - They met at rap class as trainees. Naturally, he spend much time with Almi since both of them specialised in the same field. He is her self proclaimed fan and he is always out and about watching her practices. He tends to flirt with her but she just don't take him seriously as she looks at his reputation and knows that it is a playful act. a Giant visual dork. Mingyu loves laughing and making jokes, Almi mostly laughs at him and his attics. 

• Close brother - Lee Seokmin (19) - member of SEVENTEEN - witty, messy, happy virus, concern - They met not long after Seokmin got into PLEDIS, he happened to heard her rap practice, he gave an applause after Almi was done and apologized for eavesdropping. Later on Seokmin continued to greet her as they meet. Although it start from his adoration of Almi's rapping skill, in the end they are becoming close friend. For Seokmin,  Almi will turn into a whiny sister and whines just about everything the world done to her. 

• The rebel club - 2 contestants (tba) - trainees at Kalon - curious, funny, cute, rebellious - They are the troublemakers and seems to revolves around each other with Almi being the unofficial leader.

OTHERS — 

• Cat and dog - Jeon Dongyi (20) - trainee at Kalon -  imaginative, quiet, ambitious, pride - They somehow can't get along. It was because their first meeting was a disaster. Dongyi was deadly tired with his personal night training and on his way back when Almi bumped into him. Annoyed by the situation, Dongyi cursed under his breath and this came to Almi's attention, she thought he was cursing at her and there the misunderstanding began. Their relationship are rocky, it isn't that obvious when others are around but it's always visible when no one there. He likes to gives orders to Almi and she always point out his mistakes, even when it's not really his.

TRAINEE LIFE

The awaited date arrived when she audition for PLEDIS with Minkyung, sadly only her who get accepted and life goes on that way. But the 2 girls reunited again when Minkyung passed PLEDIS audition a year later. They were trained under the name of pre school girls, the group of trainees that might debut as After School members when the times come eventhough the time hasn't come for them for the passed 2 years, being in the younger age group. PLEDIS always picked the older ones to debut first. Almi thought it wasn't fair, talent should be judged without concerning age.

Almi took proud of herself. Her rapping is well praised by many, and this is no secret. However, there seems to be a slight misconception, or so. Her rapping is not that phenomenal at first; it’s her charisma and attitude that are so readily apparent that make her rapping so good yet she did improved as one of the best now. She has the rhythm, flow and soul of a good rapper. But nothing else there. She is slow when it comes to dance and singing.

In 2015, PLEDIS planned a new girlgroup and it isn't about After School anymore, nowadays they're known as PLEDIS Girlz which also consist of Kim Minkyung, Almi's bestfriend. The wheel turned as it was Almi who isn't in the list, she was devastated. During one of her shopping spree with her mom, she was approached by Kalon representative, it was out of pure luck and Almi decided to try it out with objection from her mother, Kalon was a new company and the chance to debut successfully might be far fetched. Almi argued that it's not like she had a big chance to debut under PLEDIS, for now she is only a back up trainee.

Finally, the whole family went to the company for Almi's audition. As expected, there wasn't many people but everyone looks decent so Almi figured it is based on look, a public scouting after all. When it came to her turn, she showed them her self written rap and some dance routine she learned while in PLEDIS. She got accepted after leaving a good impression with her rap but her dance will need some more work. The next day, Almi quit from PLEDIS without telling her friends about Kalon until a month later. In Kalon, she focused on improving her dance and singing. 

Socially, she gained few acquaintances and 2 closest friends after Minkyung, just this time, the trio are also partners in crime and when they are together, can be unapproachable. Almi was one of the most excited when the news about the upcoming battle among the trainees for the upcoming girlgroup's position came out. She is determined to win but also wanted to do that successfully with her rebel club.

          — 2009 - 2011 :: She participated in Texas pageant event, that's where she got scouted as             a child model, her pictures featured in malls and children clothes catalogs and sites.
