"she is such a miss goody- two shoes" ann is a meek girl. she is usually very quiet and gentle, unlike her physical appearance that make people perceived her to be active and out to go, she is nothing like that. holding herself aloof from others, she also tends to listen and show esteem to others, the selected people. because of the obedient character, she is among the girls that barely have problem with anyone or anything, especially with the company protocols. some people might see her as miss goody two shoes, that's correct in a way but it just a part of her natural personality, eventhough it can be annoying.

"so tender and mild" with low profile, ann is very mild, diigent, and practical. she just do her things quietly, she doesn’t care about what others judge and just do the things she deem right. she is considerate and prudent. she also does not squanders money on flashy or unpractical articles and have the habit of saving money. all in all she is like the type a mother would love to have as their daughter in law. and that's right, a lot of her mother's friends like her, although she is still a teen, she is matured enough to behave herself well when with the elders, like a picture perfect of a daughter you might think doesn't exist anymore.

"in my one desire, all else never exist" though ann come from a rich family, she seldom faces any economical problems as long as she is living because of herself, not just because of family. she is not fond of buying luxury goods, which is a good thing for her pocket money. her desires for shopping is less and she always wonders why girls normally love that. she can arrange her money well and is devoted to music and other important things. just like i said before, her habit of saving money add to her addiction for music alone, maybe that eats up her desires to shop and other luxurious thing. her future lover should be lucky since she won't ask for anything.

"a pessimist is alone" to some extent, ann is pessimist sometimes, she simply does things she ought to and already sure of the rightness. that's what i meant when i said she just do the things she deem right. she isn't used with the term intuition, she prefer to stay inside the box. besides that, she love to be attended and flattered. compliments from others pleases her a lot. just like how much she gives love to others, she wishes to get the same amount, yet she isn't the type to show that boldly. there's like an inert timidness for her to ask other people for something, even that's for herself. she isn't completely selfless, but she is in no way bold enough to show her selfish thought.

"a tidy creative and idle person" ann is capable of doing any work endowed with creativity and the talent for art, she has admirable tastes in music. this characteristic had shown ever since she was still a kid. if not for her meek character and her addiction to music alone without the confidence to stand up, she will surely stand out from the others more than now. but personally, she does not like to work by herself. she likes cooperating with others and feels that she will achieve better in the background. the feeling that she is safer when with others than being alone, it's common but it can leave others who understand a bit frustrated, she is frustrating.
 

"i was born at night" ann was born in honolulu, hawaii. she was the only daughter of two siblings, her younger brother is named finn,  after a year and half only he was born. her parent are both korean that migrated to hawaii for work purposes. they're both artists and had involved themselves into hawaii art community even before their marriage. her father, joo jingook is a painter while her mother, lee eunji is a ceramics artist, both is different area yet similar in sense of art.

"she was a child ameteur" ann been living her whole life surrounded by paintings and all form of arts. unlike her parent, she took keen in performing art, as a child she was (aged 4), she started to immitate the singers on broadcasts and act like the characters in the children programs she watched.  her parent saw this and not once objected her interest, they even encouraged her. she is a quiet child and the only thing that can make her lively is this, singing and performing. 

"i have never consider myself as prodigy" ann took singing, dancing and acting lessons and excelled(aged 5 to 15). leaving people to call her child prodigy. her schedule was packed during her elementary to middle school. she never complained and she even prefered that way. a meek child she is, she barely talk to anyone without any reasons except for few closed ones and for her performances. she loved giving her commitment to her addiction, which is the performance art, rather than spending times like usual teenagers. she is surely weird in a way but that's only because she clearly see her desire. like most quiet kids that might get harrassed, she did faced them too, althought not very serious. she was also gotten admired by few for her exceptional talents. on 2013, the whole family moved to korea for good. 

"you're my best friend" ann finished her whole goverment issues after her moving to korea few months later and only then she managed to attend a new school. she managed to be in 'the school' with great art achievement. ann is in the popular clique with the main reason of being a prodigy and coming from hawaii. she met one girl who is going to be her best partner, 'insert another applicant', who shared the same love for music and some magic in between them.

"i'm a girl..." eventhough she is in the higher hierarchy at the school, because of her more quiet and closed personality, she didn't really befriend with many people. she really didn't mind if she is to be associated with such presense like middle class or poor people that got into the school with scholarship though. for now, she is alright as long as she have her best friend with her, but there's also some rumors when two girls are too closely together, both of them occasionally gotten the label as lesbians.

✩ father — joo jingook (50) - painter - faithful, stable, feet rooted to the ground, jealous, sometimes short tempered 

"is that my baby girl i hear?" 
ann looked up to the very familiar voice that just spoke. her father was coming, most probably from his studio, having heard the music played in the music studio. he was a bit taller than the average man with tanned skin which showed where ann got her height and skin (though she is far more fairer than him) from. he always wore casual clothes and that is exactly what he was in as he got into the room. apart from his height, there was no other attribute that separated him from any other local man. despite how busy he is with his arts, he never put his family second. ann loved him greatly.
"hey dad." ann accepted the hug that her dad offered with feeling.
"how was your day?”
"not as busy as most days. it was only minkyung and i covering new songs that i told you about."

✩ mother — joo eunji (49) - ceramics artist - warm, generous, over protective, always available when needed, lack of confidence  

"welcome back honey, how was your day?" 
a tall black haired lady with an air of shyness about her, so there was no doubt from whom ann took that from, come close to her. 
"good mom, how are you?" ann answered back as she made her way to her mother and gave her a heartfelt hug.
"i am just wonderful honey. i am very excited to meet this friend of yours. are you sure you will be okay on your own?” 
eunji gave her only daughter a worried look after she pulled away from the hug but keeping her hands on her daughter’s shoulders. she knew ann was already 18 and that she could take care of herself just fine since the age of 12 but really, she could never stop worrying. every time ann went out of the house eunji always worried for her daughter.  
"come on mom, you worry too much. i promise to be careful and call you right away if something happens.” ann loved her mother more than anything in the world but her protective nature was way out there.  
"don’t forget to call me every hour as well.”
"how can i forget mom? i have been doing it every time i go out since i was 12."

✩ brother — finn joo junghoon (17) - student - straightforward, courageous, can be domineering, self centered, creative

"it’s so late…where’ve you been?" asked finn. he rubbed his face with the palm of his hands and tried to shake his sleepiness away.
"don’t think i don’t notice it. you’re barely at home as it is.." ann’s eyes widen in surprise. 
"You knew…?"
"yeah. i knew. i know.” finn gave a mischievous smile.
"are you seeing someone? who’s he? or she?" ann shook her head slowly. her brother was trying to be witty again. 

✩ best friend — another applicant (18) - student - tba

ann squinted her eyes as she confirmed her phone ringing its alarm tone. the continuous buzzing, vibrating and it, telling her to wake up. it was early than usual and asked herself, ‘why?’ and before she could answer her own question, a different sound beeped her device. 
“how was your sleep? i didn’t do too well. would you be a friend and take a walk with me?” said the letters as she read them in her head. a smile instantly rolled up her cheeks pleasantly.
“this girl.”
now she remember why. they did kind of planned to hang-out outside of the town, not that it was officially decided when. she was just assuming but, she was glad it will actually happen. without second thoughts, she confirmed her enthusiasm to be with her. she pressed the send icon and in an instant to take a quick morning shower.

✩ friend — kim namjoon (18?) - student - sensitive, detailed, always tries to look strong, can be warm and idiotic

when a loud laughter erupts in the class, ann - who was lost in thoughts - raises her eyes and frowns at one of her classmate's flirty attitude. the boy is trying to steal a kiss from a girl - this time on the lips - and ann can't help but find the situation a bit disturbing. a few months ago, she would have rolled her eyes at the boy's silliness, but now, she feels ill-at-ease witnessing this scene. after the rumor about that playboy and another girl's possible romantic relationship, she had unconsciously watched him more often than usual, her curiosity getting the best of her. 
ann who hasn't stopped eying the flirtatious boy suddenly feels someone tapping her shoulder. she raises her eyes to see an amused namjoon looking at her, then at the playboy who's laughing loudly.
"you're too focus on- a person." he chuckles, taking his coat off and sitting at the place in front of ann. 
"i'm not." ann retorts, and swiftly goes back to read a sheet of paper on her desk.
"oh come on, you're getting curious with the school's affair."
"i'm not."
ann mentally slaps herself for the lie, and fights to not take a peek at the pair. namjoon chuckles, obviously not believing her.

✩ friend — min yoongi (18?) - student - honest, blunt, ready to speak up when something's wrong, cool, realistic 

turning around, she notices the DVD section not far away and ponders buying an anime instead, before rolling her eyes. It wouldn't make a difference. each time her brother watches an anime at home, she doesn't pay much attention to it. what can she say? they don't have the same tastes. a third solution appears when she eyes the CD section and she moves forward swiftly, not noticing in time a guy arriving from her right. Both bump into each other and ann quickly apologizes, before staring wide-eyed at the familiar face. yoongi smiles in surprise.  
"ann, hi! what are you doing here?" 
"hi. i'm here to buy a present for my brother. but I don't really know what to choose," she admits defeated, before hearing the boy chuckling.
"and you, what are you doing here?"
"same as you. buying a birthday present. for someone."
