if you want the most honest and undefiled opinion in the world, ask sooyeon. she will hurt your feelings without remorse and though it can be nice when sooyeon compliments you, those instances are rare and few in between so good luck with that goal. she's also calculating, perfect for her 'job' as an accountant. she isn't afraid to slip in a comment or reminder (or threat) when she knows that trouble is around the corner and, honestly, it because she's a killjoy but she's so sneaky about it. ugh.

born to a korean-japanese couple who were very active due to their jobs (father being a taekwondo instructor and mother a judo instructor), sooyeon grew up learning both practices. her parents were very much in love even after having a kid and pretty much showed their affection through hiking trips, sparring matches, and large meals with everyone involved after. unfortunately, though they were loving, they weren't very responsible. as a result, sooyeon became the most responsible.

education wise, sooyeon grew up doing relatively well in school because of her photographic memory and because she refused to lose to takuya's taunting about his grades. she goes to japan every summer with her family and is a relatively normal girl. she was captain of the taekwondo team in middle and high school and was a mathlete (like a math athlete sort of team) all of high school. her dream job is to be an accountant - safe and relatively good pay - and her back-up plan is to inherit her parents' dojo.

▿ met him when she went over to minguk's for a project and jeongguk happened to be there sometimes. they basically know each other's faces and names. does not have a good impression because jeongguk legitimately asked if she was the next door neighbor's kid the first time they met. minguk and jongyul face-palmed. she basically threw a lot of shade (and math problems at him) until he gave up. he has a lot of brain respect for her but still annoys the popcorn out of her.
Jongyul Lee : ming's jongyul (minguk)
▿ she has had a lot of classes with him because they both take the ridiculously why-would-you-take-this-voluntarily hard classes. they're good friends and she's probably one of the few people who can convince him to put down the bag of hot cheetos or stop making out with minguk "for a dorito minute and just tell me the exit number" because she doesn't do it unless it's an absolute, jail-time emergency. (she's probably been the most patient about their relationship, honestly.)
Minguk Kwon : jong's minguk (jongyul)
▿ the one who's probably most similar to her, they get along really well. they met through jongyul but minguk jokes that he stole her from jongyul because they're such good friends. they tag team jongyul and other people because minguk makes good emotional arguments and sooyeon takes care of the logics. they make a good pair and jongyul once said if minguk was not gay, sooyeon and him might have been a couple instead. (think of sooyeon as the cool, tough bi bff.)
The Tourist : child (tourist)
▿ sooyeon finds the tourist to be the more childish one of the group. basically they're on good relations. unofficially, the girl thinks sooyeon is some kind of savior because there was a group project in history and sooyeon was the only one who did any work. sooyeon finds her amusing but also just thinks she's a cute little person (even if sooyeon is technically 'littler' but no one wants to bring it up). basically, as the phone name suggests, the tourist is sooyeon's child. don't touch.
The moodmaker : the bag of regrets (jeongguk)
▿ probably the one who will cause sooyeon to die an early death from stress (or at least the main cause of her white hairs), the moodmaker seems to take joy in causing sooyeon to have mini heartattacks every time they meet starting from their time in p.e. when said person thought it'd be fun to try and see if landing feet first was possible from the second story balcony. the p.e. teacher and sooyeon were both very unamused. sooyeon doesn't hate the moodmaker but. stress.
The photographer : had a bad day aka year (jeongguk)
▿ sooyeon basically just admires the photographer's photos. they met in one of those required-to-graduate classes and sat next to each other. sooyeon didn't push to talk and neither did the photographer and they just have a silent, calm sort of relationship. of everyone, the photographer is probably the least likely to get on sooyeon's nerves or get into trouble but also the most likely to end up in jail after a bar fight or something. he's like a tic tac weird paradox.

▿ really, honestly, and truly, sooyeon doesn't know what to make of the wild card half of the time. some days, sooyeon finds said person very endearing and just mother hens the strawberry shortcake out of him / her while other times, sooyeon just wants to tear her hair out and wonder whose idea it was to introduce this child to man-child jeongguk and the troublesome moodmaker and long story short, sooyeon doesn't know what she feels without more specific details.

since graduation i've been early studying for the mathematics and economics-business double major at seoul national. during the week though, i've been helping out at my parents' dojo and just hanging out with my friends or going on mini dates with takuya-no, he's my cousin jeongguk. ▿ sooyeon is usually pretty good at keeping the group together but every so often she'll get distracted (brooklyn or someone hitting on her or something). then the group goes wild and she has to chase them down (except mingyu and jongyul who are making out in the backseat) because.
▿ mingyu and jongyul reference how they paid for her trip to america so that they could make out in the backseat whenever she complains and then she starts threatening a no pda rule that the other passengers very vocally agree with. sooyeon smugly smirks when they gape at her.
