In a new interview with Sports Donga, Jessica talked about a variety of topics once again, including her new album and debuting as a solo artist around the same time as former girl group member Tiffany.

She admitted, "I had no idea that I'd be a singer again.  If it weren't for my fans' support, there wouldn't be a day like today.  I regained my courage because of the fans who showed their support, asking me to keep singing.  I think I began the work with mulling over what the fans wanted from me and what they wanted to hear.  In the end, I decided that I had to do songs that the fans wanted to hear and prepared for my album."

This was also her first album with the name Girls' Generation removed from it.  She said, "I always liken life to a book where you turn the pages one at a time.  When I left the group, I believed that the time had come for me to put a period.  Now, I've gone on to the next page and have to write a new story.  Girls' Generation was an important and precious time for me.  If there were no Girls' Generation, I would not exist here like this right now."

She then talked about debuting as a solo artist around the same time as Tiffany with,"When I heard the news, I thought, 'Why?  Of all people?'" and laughed.  She continued, "I thought that it might actually be a good thing.  I was curious about what Tiffany would do, and she was really cool.  I thought it'd be fun for people who are watching because her music and visuals are different from mine.  Leaving behind the grades for our music, I wish that we would each promote coolly."
