Comment Rep?

When the "Comment Rep" profile side menu thing came up, I thought, "Cool I guess, kinda incorporating Facebook's liking system to AFF, should be fun." BUT what even? I don't get a notification when someone 1UP's my comment on their story, and I'm pretty sure no one else does either...Is it just "SURPRISE! Your Comment Rep is going up and you will never know which comments they were muahahahahahahahahaha"?

Also, once a comment is up-arrowed, the arrows disappear, right? Like, no one else can "like" them again? Or once a certain time has passed, the arrows go away?

LOL, yeah, I hardly go to my profile page so when I do and see the comment reps, I'm like "Wha..? Where did those come from??" I too wish I knew where they are coming from.
More than one person can click on the arrow so a comment can have more than one up or down votes.

Comment arrows are only available for three days after the original comment was made, and comment rep changes are totally anonymous, so you are not notified at all. I still don't know which comments got me my rep. Which worries me, because I mostly just talk crap.
