it's raining again

alright my blog post this time has nothing to do with rain (but thank God for rain we need rain!!!!)  i had a dream two nights ago and just wanted to share my weirdness.

The water around me was clear and blue with hints of green.  It sparkled against the sunlight that touched its surface gently, with tiny rainbows appearing in all directions like little galaxies.  My fingers were chilled against my surfboard, the only thing keeping me floating.  I glance around me and see tiny islands in the distance, no bigger than ants, and I wonder, where am I?

A puff of cold air brushes past my cheeks, rustling my hair ever so slightly.  Something underneath the water catches my eye.  Without thinking, I plunge into the cool liquid.

Sheer panic overtakes me as I am fully submerged, gazing off into the bluish green depths of the ocean.  The light from the surface is reassuring, but I can still feel this uncomfortable shiver teasing my spine.

I blink once.

Twice.

A huge dark mass appears in front of me.  A woman.

Her dark robes seemed to flow effortlessly as though she were in flight.  They billowed out like a cloud and reached out in all directions.  She had no face.  No features, but one could still see that she was a beautifully dark creature.  All she possessed was her red, beady eyes.  They stared straight into my soul and scrutinized my spirit, the true one inside of me that lay trapped behind an iron door for far too long.

Though this creature spoke no words, her eyes seemed to jeer at me.  They offered an awful glare that burned my eyes and made my stomach churn.  It frightened me that these eyes were somewhat familiar.  They seemed to know something I didn’t.

I was staring into the eyes of my own damned spirit.

Who did this to you?

Pity overshadowed the fear in my heart.  My hand reached out on its own.  The spirit -- my spirit -- only continued to stare as my hand touched her cheek -- my cheek.  It was cold to the touch, almost as if I was touching death itself.

Then like a bright flash of lightning, a brilliant white clouded my vision.  I blinked to see a soft pale blue, like the shade of the water surrounding us, begin to spread throughout her being.  The blackness seemed to shriek and fade away until it was no more.  Her hair calmed and lay smoothly on her shoulders.  Her robes were even more extravagant in their brighter hue.

No face was shown, though I could feel her smile.

Thank you…

Her hand reached out and touched mine, still outstretched.  A blinding light flashed and was replaced by the pale sunlight peeking through the blinds of my bedroom.

I stared up at the ceiling, awestruck.  I could hear the voice echo in my ears.

Thank you…
