Me Before You

So, it has been a month since the last time i wrote something irrelevant on my blog. Yes. This, too, shall add to the irrelevantness that is me. :D

Anyway, the last month really did me a good job on meditation and sorting out my thoughts again. But that won't guarantee big results. Just more realizationd, and really lots of time to read 50+ novels. Real fictions. Not just fan fictions. And from then on I realized I must have actually grown out a bit from reading fanfics so i couldn't do that somehow. It was like i have been converted from a fan to a far more mature and clever person. Or was I? But really, the novels I read really helped my mentality and my imagination. Because of those books i realized i have so many things i still lacked and it wasn't to late to write down what i lacked. And reading them were like looking into my own because it felt familiar. Reading them was different from reading a fanfic or an EXO fanfic to be specific. Reading another exo fanfic made me want to critic, made me a bit distracted bc it inspired me but at the same time made me a little jealous, to be honest. Because theu got to tell the story i wanted to tell but after reading them it just felt like, yes that author can do better in that genre, so no maybe you should do another story which would top it. But really, that was a wrong attitude so i stirred away from fanfics now as often as possible.

And then there were the novels. I asked here abt recommendations and yeah, the co-users who wrote back to me were right abt whatever they recommended. My favorite especially now was ME BEFORE YOU. And since then I'm a Jojo Moyes fan. And I'm gonna read her other stuff. Lol. And now i'm reading the sequel. So thank you to you who had recommended that. And oh, Fangirl by rainbow rowell just struck a cord in me, and touched that fangirl side of me. It was very relatable (i just couldn't relate to carry on, so i must confess that i skipped it). Anyway, Just One Day and its sequel are just ugh :). And the many Jennifer Echols I read were sweet, feisty and mind-opening. And uh, I must say other than MBY, Falling into Place by amy zhang totally moved me.

Lol. This was long. But really it was good to let some thoughts out after a long period of silence.

Please if you have more novel recommendations that you could gladly share to me, can you write to me? I'm very interested with them as of the moment. They are really inspiring and it makes me what to write even more :)

Ever heard of Sarah Dessen? When I was a teen I used to read a lot of her books, so i'd recommend that to you if you haven't read any of them. My personal favourites were The Truth About Forever and Lock & Key. And I was crazy over Theresa Tomlinson; she did a lot of period style young adults books and most are based on historical myths like Robin Hood and Troy. There's also this author called Cameron Dockey, her specialty is making stories based on fairytales such as Cinderella, Snow Queen, etc.

But these days I typically read Nora Roberts which is more on the serious romance side and less on the young adults' style. And also books by Haruki Murakami, Mitch Albom and Agatha Christie. ^^

Hope this helps~ It's been a while, so perhaps my taste differs from the current trend hahaha. Try them out and let me know ^^

Nice that you had mental healing :) I don't give recommendations often because I just feel people won't have the same liking as me so idk I'm a little shy about it ^^; but Paper Towns by John Green is my favorite. (CERTAINLY not because it' John Green tbh I don't even like tfios) but this book changed my mindset so much and thought me this big message that we shouldn't get angry or disappointed when people don't turn out like how we expected them to be. Everybody is different and sometimes they are not actually the way they seem.
