appearance

Junghae was born with her red hair and bronze eyes. Needless to say she stood out against all the black haired North Koreans around her. She is skinny, also more than most and it's a wonder that she has grown to be so tall.

Junghae has countless of scars on her body, most on her back from whips and beatings but she has scars on her thighs and arms as well. Junghae covers them up daily, using a lot of make-up to conceal her past, if anything only as to no longer remind herself.

Junghae's bronze-colored nine tails don't show themselves unless she wants them to and are more often than not hidden. It happens that one or two show themselves if she gets incredibly excited or affected by a situation otherwise.

The appearance of gumihos generally count on their individual territory color. Most gumihos will have an individual territory color in the brown spectrum but it occasionally happens that they stray from that. Gumiho children can be born with all colors of hair, depending on country of origin but most asian gumihos have brown hair. A gumiho child's tails doesn't show themselves until she becomes 10 and at that time most gumiho children have learned how to hide them.

fashion

Junghae is, despite her past and her scars, only really comfortable in clothes that show her skin and especially her legs. No matter whether it's a girls night out or just a day home, she'll dress relatively skimpy. At home she'll appear more cute, while in public she'll appear more fierce. And when she's on a girls night out - then it's y, without a doubt.

Cute may sneak into her public appearance and it also happens that she wears longer sleeves or a jacket to cover a little more in public that what she really want.

Junghae feels free the lesser clothes she wears. When she's forced to dress up due to cold weather, she feels as if she's being suffocated. This is due to being forced into the same uniform for the first 12 years of her life, that covered her body completely.

She doesn't have any color preference, it depends on her mood.

personality

negative insensitive, condescending, pretentious, mistrusting
neutral careful
positive resourceful, honest, possesses strong morals, passionate

Junghae is a woman with very strong morals. They may have been strengthened due to her past, but any person who knew Junghae earlier on would tell you that they've always been buried deep within her. Because of these strong morals Junghae also acts in the way she finds right and she will judge you for the things she deems wrong. There's no debate concerning this, you're either right or wrong in her ideals. Of course, having strong morals makes Junghae a woman that never strays from what she believes is right either and she will do anything to make it up to you, does she deem her own actions morally wrong - and yes, it does happen that she makes a mistake. This does not mean that her strong morals is relatable to what others might find morally right or wrong though.

With morality also comes a fierce passion that is quite uncommon for people with the same past as Junghae. With all the horrors she has seen, her passion for making the world a somewhat better place is an uncommon but guarded trait. Junghae is passionate about mostly everything she does in life. She believes wholeheartedly in everything she does and she goes to any kind of challenge with an excessive amount of passion. With a passion like Junghae's even working is fun. It has grown in the past few years when the fire within her ignited and now it burns stronger than ever.

"Ask Junghae and you will find" was the motto of her sister when they were placed in the orphanage. The reason for this was because Junghae was resourceful. Junghae is a woman that knows almost anything about everyone. She knows the news around every corner, she knows a lot of theory in case you need that and she spends her off-time researching the most bizarre subjects. This, of course, is the result of a strong curiosity and if Junghae doesn't know you can be sure she'll find out. Junghae's well-knowing personality and her ability to figure things out are useful for the people around her, but can also be a source of misuse.

Do not misunderstand Junghae's morals, her passion and her resources though - it doesn't make her an easy person to get close to.

Junghae is, if anything, a very careful person. She doesn't reveal her personality to anyone she meets. She will carefully judge a person before she decids whether or not they're even worth getting to know and even then she'll thread carefully, making sure not to get people close enough to hurt her.

While her carefulness is usually a very neutral trait that only serves to protect herself, Junghae sometimes takes it too far and becomes downright mistrusting. In the case you made her doubt you, you'll never be able to get close to her again. She will be almost cruel to you and her mistrust will radiate in miles, impossible for you to actually miss it. In fact, she'll even warn other people about you and may create a lie, just to make sure that people deem you just as untrusthworthy as she does.

When Junghae is at her absolute worst she is a pretentious that speaks condescendingly to other people. She'll think of herself as God's gift to humanity and mainly because of her species and the way she's able to seduce others and use them. One could probably argue that she's manipulative as well but being able to forcefully have people do your bidding isn't very manipulative as a trait. Instead you can be sure that she won't let you know that you're worth anything and you won't be able to tell her anything else. When Junghae is at her worst there is simply only her on top and everyone else is below her.

Junghae is relatively good at keeping her bad traits in check though it does happen that they show themselves.

Junghae has a certain way of talking. She's as honest as they come but this may often lead to insensitivity as well. She never really thinks about what she says and she frankly doesn't care if she hurts your feelings either because you could've just asked someone else. One would think that 12 years spent in Camp 18 would have taught her not to talk freely but when passionate, fiery Junghae was free to actually say what she wanted, there was no way to put a bond on her again. Don't ask for her opinion unless you want nothing but the truth - simple as that.

background

It is fairly common knowledge that only women can be gumihos. The trait is carried down from mother to daughter. In the past it was common for gumihos to seduce human men and have their children in order to get a baby girl. Some gumihos would kill all male children to heighten their chances of an off-spring that could actually carry the blood line further. Others would get a number of children and raise all of them. Nowadays, however, seducing and eventually forcing men into getting a child with a gumiho is no longer necessary and mixing of species does happen more often.

In rare occasions it happens that a boy child born by a gumiho receives the gene and carries it as a recessive gene. The man will be a human but he and another human woman will be able to conceive a gumiho child if the child is a girl.

There are stories about such families where the child has been neglected because of the unexpected species of the child and the parents not knowing how to actually handle a gumiho daughter.

As time evolved, the gumihos began to develop the ability to use telekinesis. The older the gumiho, the more she can remove with the use of telekinesis. Most young gumihos still don't see this as a very useful ability and it's more often than not used to prank humans and other non-human creatures when the young gumiho is in school. The elders pray that they young ones will learn eventually.

Kim Junghae was born on a cold, snowy January morning and she was so small and so fragile that neither of her parents believed she would survive. She did though, much to everyone's surprise.

Her parents had been forced together, a guard gifting Junghae's mother to her father for a job well done and the two had stuck together. Being in a political prisoner camp in North Korea was hard enough alone and even more so with a family, yet they did it. Junghae was the couple's second child, her older sister Hyunhee 4 years older.

Junghae survived the harsh North Korean winter but when she started growing longer hair, her mother realized in horror that her second daughter was a gumiho, a very obvious one at that. Where Hyunhee had been relatively easy to disguise as a human, Junghae's red hair made it nearly impossible. Therefore, in order to shelter her daughter from the torture and eventual murder she cut her hair in a crew-cut. Junghae had a crew-cut all her childhood, more often than not getting mistaken for a boy.

When Junghae was 5 years old she was forced into working in the mines with her family and the other prisoners. Getting beaten was everyday life yet the malnourished small girl wasn't beaten as much as her parents, her sister and the ones she made friends with. The ones she did make friends with, however, were more often than not hanged and killed.

Every week for the first 7 years of Junghae's life she saw two people getting murdered. All prisoners were assembled to witness the hanging. As a 7 year old someone ratted out her parents for wanting to run away. 4 months later she was forced to the front line with her sister to see her parents getting hanged and afterwards shot. Junghae didn't shed a tear.

Malnourished to the point of almost dying from work Junghae decided that she needed to run away when she was 10. It was a rash decision and maybe even stupid considering her young age but Junghae was fairly certain she needed to get out. Her sister, however, thought the idea was absolute rubbish and so shot down every attempt of conversation about it.

Through 10 to 12 Junghae begged Hyunhee to teach her the ways of the gumiho, the things that should've come so natural to both of them but had been surpressed because of the strict surveillance rules. Hyunhee eventually gave into Junghae's begging and the two started in secret to let their telekinesis help them during mine work and to up the charm on a few other prisoners. Their tails were hidden from other people and if they slipped, the girls made sure to wear their pants baggy (not a problem considering their sizes).

In summer during Junghae's 12th year she seduced a guard and got him to help her out as long as she promised him as well. One night he ed her and afterwards transported Junghae and Hyunhee out of the camp. It wasn't initially supposed to happen but Junghae's powers were still not fully developed and was the only way she still had full control over the guard. Junghae didn't know what happened to him afterwards when they were placed at the DMZ.

But Hyunhee cried, too scared to go through the DMZ and Junghae instead promised to follow her up north and into China. 6 months later, with the help of brave citizens and maybe a few unwillingly helpful people who got seduced into helping, the two girls arrived in China and was flown to South Korea as refugees.

The two sisters were both placed in an orphanage but were too scarred by their past to live a normal life. They both got admitted to Asan Medical Center and were afterwards separated.

Admitted to the psychiatric department for children and youth she met a young boy, a year older than her. He was stronger than Junghae, who was still malnourished, and he found a certain pleasure in pushing the young girl around instead of helping her. More often than not would he steal her lunch if he didn't get caught by the personnel first and he would make sure that getting over her trauma was not as easy as it should have been. The boy, whose name was Kibum, even found a certain pleasure in playing music of gunshots or make male personnel shout at him, only to catch the girl caught in a panic attack. When Kibum got discharged Junghae was needless to say extremely happy.

Junghae got discharged shortly before christmas when she was 13, the doctors deeming it important that she got new, happier memories as part of her treatment. She was still an outpatient though but living a somewhat normal life and getting to know people her age did help on her treatment. Junghae also began classes so that she could learn South Korean and make herself understood in South Korea alongside other subjects such as math, physics and art. Social studies was never a part of her classes - the orphanage director very well aware of her past and scared of triggering something, anything in relation to society.

At this point Junghae's hair had grown to a cute bob-cut and another boy at the orphanage found himself staring at her, captivated with the way the sun played into the red locks. When she caught him staring he had been blushing furiously. This had been the beginning of something beautiful.

The boy was called Shin Youngjae and he knew how to play with the sun - literally. He was a year older than her and spent most of his time showing Junghae the amazing things he could make sun rays do. They were dancing for her and for her only. Obviously the boy couldn't be human. While Junghae received treatment at the hospital Youngjae made sure to entertain her at home, never touching her or making advances but constantly being there nonetheless.

At the age of 15 Junghae was head over heels for him and luckily for her, even without her ability to lure men and women and genders alike and make them do what she wanted them to, he was head over heels for her too. When Junghae stopped her treatment at the hospital at age 16 her and Youngjae's relationship also began to bloom for real.

Youngjae was, in every way, a perfect lover. He was funny, charismatic and smart but also caring and loving. He took her on dates into Seoul, found her charms and bracelets and necklaces but also always asked for permission to touch her, even if just slightly. He told her stories of his family but never expected for her to elaborate on her past and he loved her with everything he had. Despite her ability to seduce and hurt people, he trusted her wholeheartedly and for that Junghae was grateful. The two of them hardly went anywhere without each other.

As a 17 year old Junghae braced herself while they were out in public on a date and kissed his cheek. The light that shone around his black hair was so beautiful that she simply had had to try again. Slowly but surely Youngjae taught her all of life's most beautiful things and even her long-time friend from the orphanage, Junseo, was surprised when Junghae suddenly wanted a hug.

Having been separated since they entered South Korea, Junghae was surprised when Youngjae suddenly presented the two girls for each other again. Hyunhee had a bob-cut but looked happy nonetheless and the girls spent a weekend reconciling. Junghae could've never been more in love with Youngjae.

When Youngjae turned 19, he had to leave the orphanage. Now he was a grown adult and he had to fend for himself. Junghae, despite protests, decided that she wanted to move out with him. If anything, she could work part-time while she still studied to get her middle school level. She wanted to continue on into high school but she also felt ridiculously old to do so. She knew there was a good reason for it but she was still humiliated by the fact that she sometimes spoke with her outdated North Korean vocabulary.

Junghae and Youngjae lived together in a small studio apartment but although they didn't have a lot of space, they never got tired of each other. Youngjae bought her a ring on their anniversary and promised her that one day, when he was financially stable, he would marry her. It was not quite a proposal but at the same time it was.

The two of them were on their way home from a date, fingers tangled and light glittering around them like fireflies when something attacked them and bared its teeth. Junghae was on the ground, eyes closed and the monster's breath close enough for her to smell, when it diverted its attention from her. When she opened her eyes again, she saw it hunched over Youngjae, the man weak on the ground. With anger burning in her veins and tears welling up her eyes, she started flinging every small object close by at the monster. When it finally retreated Youngjae had died on the ground, throat bloody and body cold. Junghae couldn't stop her tears as she sank down beside her beloved and cried her heart out.

A little movement to her left brought Junghae out of her sorrow and as she locked eyes with the vampire, she felt her blood boil again. Without much thought she lunged towards the other, all nine tails showing for the first time in her life. The other seemed surprised by the attack but Junghae was so blinded by her sorrow that she didn't even give him a minute to explain himself. For the first time in her life she had had something worth living for and within minutes, the vampire in front of her had taken it away again. He deserved to die. The vampire fled but Junghae's resentment towards the other never disappeared, his face forever painted in her memories.

With the help of a couple of friends Junghae buried Youngjae in a small hill outside of Seoul. The sun was shining and it felt almost mocking to bury the light faerie under the rays he had had under his mercy.

Junghae finished her middle school and got a part-time job at a library. She was still living in the studio apartment although it filled her with a daily sorrow of the reminder of what had been and what she would no longer get. The head librarian felt so bad for the brokenhearted North Korean refugee that she offered to pay for Junghae's high school. Junghae enrolled in high school at the age of almost 19, being obviously older than the rest of her classmates.

Hyunhee was a great support in the years to come after Youngjae's death. At the age of 21 Junghae was a senior wen she stumbled upon an ad for a bar looking for a waitress. The bar turned out to be a rather unconventional bar with a strip-club attached but with a little cheating and a little of the gumiho's magic seducing, she got the job. Going to school, working a few hours at the library during afternoon and a few hours in the evening at the strip club wasn't all that easy. Junghae managed though, drowning her grief in stress and she graduated high school just like any other of her classmates.

Junghae met The Leader one eveing outside on her way home coincidentally. It had been 3 years since Youngjae had died and Junghae couldn't hold the tears back as she walked through the streets. Most people would have ignored a crying girl on the streets and The Leader probably would had as well had it not been for the bronze-colored tail that showed itself beneath the skirt Junghae was wearing. Instead of attacking the 22 year old girl, The Leader sat her down and talked to her. Junghae was wary about telling a stranger anything but ended up confessing the loss of Youngjae anyway. The Leader had promised her friends for life if Junghae joined Rehab and after a conversation with Hyunhee, Junghae had contacted The Leader to accept the offer - she wanted to be a part of Rehab too, if only just to get revenge over the bastard that killed Youngjae.

current life

Junghae still works at the strip-club in the evenings and at the library part-time in the day. She sometimes believes she's a burden to the other girls because she doesn't have a college degree, but none of the others actually seem bothered by her low education level. After all it's all understandable.

She spends most of her time in their shared house. Being alone makes her feel horribly sad and she prefers the company she has with the girls. Junghae spends most of her free time playing with the other girls' pets, solving math equations or researching other topics and having fun with her few friends and whenever she has time she also occasionally enjoys going out for a girls night out as well.

Junghae doesn't use her seducing powers for any serious reasons and although she dresses very ually, she doesn't really have . She may seduce a couple of guys for her clan members in case they wish that but otherwise, if she does seduce people, it's to use them.

She still resents the vampire who killed Youngjae when she was 18 and sometimes, in secret, she will try to figure out who it is, so she can kill him. Research isn't going all that good so far.

Minho

Minho is an emotionally strong man. He's been through a lot in his past but he is not nearly as affected of it as many others would be. This - of course - doesn't mean that he's not affected at all. It just means that it takes a lot before he breaks down. Mentally unstable is not really a word in Minho's vocabulary. Being emotionally strong has helped Minho a lot in his past when everything seemed to crash around him and it's the one trait that has gotten him to where he is today.

But as much as he is emotionally strong, it doesn't mean he's immune to feelings. One of the more strong feelings that he does succumb to occasionally is regret. And as much as he hates it because he can't change the past anyway, Minho can't really help it when he begins to actually think. He regrets a lot. Mainly those things in his past that turned out not so pleasant, but even so, you'll find him easily regretting small things such as saying no to Yoogeun or going out on a night where he wasn't really feeling it. It's a struggle in his everyday life but not more than he can push it aside should an emergency occur.

Underneath the surface of his impressive exterior lies the heart of a very creative man. It's most likely from Minho that Yoogeun has his artistic traits as well. Minho doesn't necessarily draw a lot like his son, he doesn't necessarily sing or play an intstrument or paint or write creatively. What he does though, is making creative solutions to almost every problem. If you're stuck in the box and don't know how to work it out, go to Minho. He'll find a way to fix your problem. Though he does enjoy the hand painting and the splatter of paint when he paints with the kids at the kindergarten.

Despite his past though, Minho has a habit of believing people. It doesn't really matter what you say, you'll most likely be able to convince him of it. And despite the hurt he's been through with his former girlfriend he continues to believe in people. He believes in the best of all and it already cost him dearly. Minho doesn't know how to change it though and although he suffers from jokes from the others ("hey Minho, did you know that gnomes only live in caves and keep dinosaurs?" "what? no." "yes, they do, it's true! right bling, it's true?" "hm, you sure?" "absolutely." ..... "dude, what the , how could you even believe that?") he finds that it's worth it as long as it's just jokes. The thing is - it's not always harmless jokes, he becomes the victim of because of his gullible personality.

Minho supports those who get close to him though. It almost doesn't matter what they're about to do except it kind of does anyway. He's all up for being there for his friends as long as they don't do anything stupid and he is good at it. His loyalty makes him stand by those who need him when they're in trouble. Being suportive also means calling your friends out on their bull before they do it though.

As much as Minho seems like a likeable man that takes mostly everything in stride, there is one thing that is not so likeable. Minho is awfully easy to irritate. It takes close to nothing to get him irritated and his response depends on who you are. The closer you are, the more likely he is to ignore you before he explodes if you continues your annoying behavior. If you're not close to him at all, he'll either walk away or show his fangs in an attempt to scare you away. And no one really knows exactly what irritates him the most, they just know that it irritates him. A lot. The only person in the world that has yet to irritate Minho is Yoogeun and maybe that's just pure luck and love.

Above all else though, Minho is an exuberant man that has the qualities of a child despite his past. The trait has been developed more in recent years where he finally found himself somewhere safe without having to worry about his or Yoogeun's future and it has become one of the most charming things about him when one meets him for the first time. As long as one stay clear of his irritation and regretful melodramatics, one will have found great company in Minho. And until he learns not to be so trusting of the world, he'll probably find more things to regret as people are just not as genuine as him.

Yoogeun

Yoogeun is Minho's 4 year old dhampir son and the boy is just as adorable as they come. He enjoys having fun and running around is a specialty of his, this includes playing around with Bling Bling and Dancing Machine because if there is anything his vampire uncles are, it's funny.

He likes to draw and he has created close to a ton of drawings which Minho has placed different places in his apartment.

Yoogeun is honestly more a little troublemaker than anything else but he's so cute and adorable that you'll let him get away with anything. Minho does try to discipline him, but it's not all that easy when Almighty Key decides to spoil the boy. Yoogeun just enjoys the love he receives.

His diet consists of a mix between raw meet, the occasional glass of blood to make sure he gets what he needs and human food such as vegetables, fruits, carbohydrates and candy.

Choi Minho was born into a old vampire house. His entire family consisted of vampires and of course he was raised just like one as well. As a newborn child he was fed blood in bottles and later on when he grew older he began hunting with his father and eventually later his older brother.

Minho was living a relatively isolated life from humans and other magical creatures during his childhood as his parents homeschooled him and his brother. He was therefore extremely intrigued when he entered a human elementary school in grade 6. The humans around him smelled deliciously and although Minho had been taught how to control his hunger, being 12 and a vampire new to the extreme amount of overly sweet smell of blood was not all that easy.

When he got overwhelmed by a scent one evening after extra-curricular activies it did end up rather tragically. Minho was on his way home, crossing the soccer-field when he caught the scent and before he had time to think, his body had reacted, sinking his fangs into a girl a few classes below him. The sound of someone behind him had him releasing the girl before he'd her dry and Minho fled in the night.

The accident left the girl a vampire, her scent completely changed when he met her again in the hallways a couple of days later and he told his mother in fear of what he had done. This was when he learned that his genes had granted him the ability to turn humans into vampires and in order to prevent this, he had to them dry and kill them.

The mistake was overlooked because he was a child but his parents made sure to warn him that it couldn't happen again.

Minho managed without further fatal incidents though he did have instances where he would linger a little too close in a hug or space out when the scents got too overwhelming.

When Minho entered middle school and later on high school he was pretty good at acting like a human and thus concealing his non-human identity.

Minho was a friendly boy who managed to get a lot of friends. Most of them were athletes as Minho quickly found that the smell of adrenaline-filled blood and the taste combination of sweat and blood was what he favored above all else. None of his friends knew that Minho was a vampire either, he'd learned pretty early that vampires were not looked well-upon by humans.

In his third year of high school, Minho met a girl, whom he kinda-sorta thought was really cute. Warned a thousand times by his parents not to get involved with humans, Minho, who had led a human life for all his teenage-years, decided to ignore his parents' warnings and approach her.

The two of them became a couple shortly after.

The girl was a beautiful girl and Minho was one protective boyfriend. No one knew it but the glare he sent offending boys who flirted a little too much was one of warnings and threats. Their high school romance was just like any teenage movie any teenage girl could have ever dreamt of. Minho took her out to expensive restaurants, showed her nature she would never had seen otherwise and promised her years of love. When she told him she wanted to run off to France when they graduated Minho didn't even hesitate to promise that he would follow.

And so they did. Two weeks after graduation and Minho found himself in Paris. The foreign language and the foreign culture so distinctly different that he couldn't help but regret it a little. The happiness of his girlfriend made the move worth it though.

Upon arrival in Paris, Minho's girlfriend also told him that she was 4 weeks pregnant while she cried. Supportive, Minho told her that it was okay, they would get through with it. They could to it.

Being a vampire in a completely foreign capital and a foreign country with no knowledge of the language was not really easy at all though and it caused Minho more troubles feeding than he had ever imagined it would, hunting in the night, almost stumbling into clan territory he shouldn't be stumbling into.

A few months later and a dozen of incidents barely avoided he met Donghae, a French vampire of Korean descent. Donghae taught Minho a little French, while he improved studying the language with his girlfriend in daylight and taught Minho where to hunt without getting in trouble with the French clans.

January 23rd the next year she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Minho learned through countless of books and research on the internet that children of vampires and humans often were vampires, the vampire genes overtaking the human. The happiness didn't last long though. The baby girl shortly after her birth began suffering from respiratory problems and one evening she stopped breathing completely. When they arrived to the hospital, the doctors couldn't save her.

The two of them went through the sorrow of losing their child, Minho suffering more than his girlfriend.

In July in Minho's 19th year his girlfriend announced the news of another pregnancy and Minho was ecstatic. When he told Donghae, the other wasn't. He adviced the couple to go back home to Korea and settle there, making sure they were closer to family when the child was eventually born and they chose to take his advice, moving to Seoul.

Minho's parents were livid when they learned of the two pregnancies, telling him that getting a human woman pregnant was probably the stupidest decision of his life, but Minho stood by. He wanted the baby. He wanted to be with the girl and their child now that he had already lost one. Minho wanted to live a human life despite his unconventional diet.

Yoogeun was born in March after a 20 hour long labour. The couple was happy with their small baby boy, Minho more than his girlfriend. Yoogeun was fed for the first two days of his life until his screams got so horrid and nothing calmed him down, so Minho tried feeding him a little blood when his girlfriend was out and the boy instantly calmed down.

The next 6 months Minho was researching while working at the local supermarket. Yoogeun's need for blood was far less than what he would have imagined a vampire child to need, the boy still getting satisfied with milk as well. When Yoogeun started teething Minho also realized that the boy's fangs were smaller than normal vampire children. It took him another week to realize that the boy was a dhampir, a rare mix of human and vampire.

That was when the trouble started.

When Yoogeun was 9 months, Minho started finding bruises on him. The were small and often looked like fingerprints but his girlfriend refused to ever lay a hand on her son. The argument following was intense, yet Minho couldn't help the feeling that something was wrong. The couple brought him to the hospital when the bruises didn't seem to go away and the doctors were examining him, never really finding a cause.

Woken up one night by Yoogeun's cries and his girlfriend's voice, Minho hurried to the hospital again because the boy was struggling with breathing. Still there was no sign of what was causing this and the doctors were left eyeing Minho suspiciously.

This went on, week after week of the boy waking up crying, red inexplainable splotches on his arms and legs, difficulty of breathing. Yoogeun was 11 months old when the doctors asked his parents for a bloodtest as well, to see if there was anything they might have passed onto the boy. Minho refused, well-knowing that a bloodtest would ultimately reveal his non-human identity and he was scared of Yoogeun getting taken away from him.

After a violent coughing fit that almost killed the boy, Minho decided to ignore his non-human identity and get the bloodtest.

The doctors were shocked to find that he was a vampire and this revelation didn't make suspicions of Minho abusing his son any less.

Minho's girlfriend was wary of him afterwards, despite Minho telling her that he still loved her and the fact that he was a vampire wasn't going to change anything. She let him stay with them but it was obvious that she was walking on egg-shells around him and keeping Yoogeun from him as much as possible. The boy got weaker when only fed with a human-diet and when he died after suffering another coughing fit, Minho ignored the pleading and began to infuse blood in his diet as well. The doctors thankfully revived the boy and Minho was charged with child abuse.

Fighting against the law system was almost impossible as a non-human but when he one evening found his girlfriend with her hands around Yoogeun's throat, the boy crying and screaming, he lost himself.

He charged forward and crashed the woman into the wall, his girlfriend screaming. With fangs bared he got in her face, making sure she kew exactly what he thought of it. Knowing that if he bit her, he would have to kill her and not really being willing to, he beat her instead, took Yoogeun from his cradle and comforted the boy who was still crying. With the boy clinging to him, he wrote a letter with his observations and sent it anonymously to the court. His now ex-girlfriend was later diagnosed with Munchausen Syndrome by proxy and found guilty with child abuse.

Minho disappeared from the surface of the Earth with Yoogeun. His parents didn't want to help him and he couldn't afford to be seen in the area where he had been living with his former girlfriend. He moved into a small apartment in Gwangjin-gu while he found a job in the supermarket close by. Working most of his days and not trusting anyone to take care of now 1 year old Yoogeun, he brought the boy with him to work, which only caused troubles with his boss.

Not having much time to feed either, only really eating blood whenever he bought meat for the boy and let him eat it raw, Minho feared he would end up suffering from Bloodlust. Minho got fired and had to search for another job while still keeping his vampire-identity hidden from potential employers and still making sure that he wasn't found by his ex-girlfriend or child services, who would, no doubt, take the boy away from him.

4 months of not feeding later Minho was offered a job in a small kindergarten by a kind woman. She had seen the now 20 year old boy struggle with his boy and had decided to take mecy on him. Minho easily fell into his new job and knowing that Yoogeun was close by eased his fears a little and gave him time to feed.

Minho was 22 when he was appoached by another vampire while he was feeding, the other hissing at him. The other vampire was blond and he was definitely not friendly in any way. It turned out that Minho had accidentally stepped into a clan's territory and the other was about to kill him. The blond vampire was stopped by another one. The second vampire introduced himself as Onew, leader of the SHINee clan and Minho apologized to the other profusely, begging him to let him live, because he had a 2 year old son. Onew, much to the blond vampire's dissatisfaction, accepted to let him live on the condition that Minho and his son joined the SHINee clan. Minho didn't hesitate.

current life

Minho still works in the kindergarten. Yoogeun is now 4 years old and isn't suffering from anything his mother may have caused him in his early life. He's a happy boy who, more often than not, plays with the other vampires and causes problems, much to Onew's annoyance. Almighty Key has taken a liking to the boy just like Bling Bling and Dance Machine have. Minho spends most of his time teaching his son the way of life and create happy memories with him but when he lets himself think, he is filled with regrets of his past.

Minho has been contemplating whether or not their baby girl died because of his girlfriend as well and if he had been quicker, he would have had a girl instead of Yoogeun. Minho loves Yoogeun with all his heart but he can't help but wonder. He also can't help but wonder whether or not he would have been able to save Yoogeun if he had been a little slower.

He hasn't told the others in the clan about his past but he figures they don't need to know. He feeds Yoogeun raw meat together with his veggies - and as the only person in the clan who doesn't solely eat blood, Yoogeun has found a certain pleasure in sticking broccoli the weirdest placest to annoy his vampire uncles.

love story

The first time Junghae meets Minho, it's because SHINee is here to get back Taemin. Obviously, Junghae is not really speaking to him because it's a meeting between the leaders of the clans more than it is anything else. Of course she notices his good looks, but in all fairness, all of SHINee is good-looking. There is something odd about the vampire next to the tall, handsome one but Junghae doesn't spare them many thoughts. After all - she's just here to represent the clan alongside the others.

It takes another 4 months before they meet again and it's not really Minho she meets. No, as Junghae is on her way home from the library she sees a small boy crying at a street corner. There's a lot of warning bells in her mind but she approaches the boy nonetheless. The boy is a mess of snot and tears and Junghae would honestly rather not touch him, but despite the warning bells in her head, he tugs on her heartstrings anyway. She crouches down in front of the boy who instantly and without fear clings to her. As he calms down, he tells her that Papa is gone and he can't find him and Junghae sighs as she decides to help the boy home. She doesn't expect to be standing on the edge of the SHINee clan's territory and she eyes the boy skeptically as she confirms that this is 'where Papa lives'. The vampire that meets her fusses a lot more over the boy than is necessary and Jungae is met with that same odd familiarity - and it's not because he was there when SHINee picked up Taemin. Another man soon joins the commotion and the boy cries out a papa and Junghae realizes that the tall one is the boy's father, not the other who had been awkwardly trying to scold the child. The tall one has the boy in his arms when he turns around to face Junghae, presents himself as Minho and thanks her for helping Yoogeun home. Junghae leaves the SHINee clan in confusion.

Junghae is on her way to the library when she sees the boy again, this time with his father. She tries to make herself as small as possible but it's quite hard with fiery red hair and the boy spots her. She halts when she feels a small hand on her thigh and turns around to be met with big large brown eyes. Junghae doesn't get it. Minho asks where she's going and it turns out that Minho and Yoogeun is miraculously going to the same library. Junghae suspects it isn't all that miraulously. On their way to the library Yoogun talks a lot, but Junghae doesn't really listen as she's doing her best to make sure she hasn't accidentally started a charm on the vampire of some sort. She doesn't really need that kind of affection right now - and she has no ill intentions either so if it is an accidental charm, she wants to release him. It's not though, at least Junghae can't figure out if it is.

The three of them spend the day at the library, Yoogeun talking animatedly and Minho joining him and Junghae may actually find them charming. Not that she would ever admit it, but she does enjoy her day with them.

One day becomes two and two becomes more and suddenly she has a playdate with Yoogeun once a week. Admittedly, yes, Minho is a part of the package deal but Junghae focuses her energy on the boy rather than the man. Something about the way Minho looks at her reminds her of Youngjae and it makes her uncomfortable. Junghae cannot deny her friendship with the man though but it's almost inevitable when she spends so much time with his son.

This year is the first year she doesn't buy a cake on October 25th to celebrate the birthday of her deceased fiance, though the playdate with Yoogeun turns into horible guilt when she lies in her bed at night and finally remembers the date.

When Christmas rolls around she finds herself looking for presents for Yoogeun and it scares her a little. It scares her because she doesn't want to be having feelings for anyone else, she belongs to Youngjae and forever will. And so she tells herself that it's strictly to Yoogeun because he's a 4 year old child and he's cute. Strictly therefore. She does feel a little guilty for not buying Minho anything, not even for his birthday but she tells herself it's because it's Yoogeun. She's not that close with Minho, not close enough to buy him a gift anyway. Junghae celebrates Christmas with her clan members and News Years Eve with Hyunhee though.

Junghae isn't expecting anything so she gets a huge surprise when she finds a drawing and a small plastic ring for her birthday from Yoogeun. The ring looks suspiciously like one of those kids rings and it only fits her pinky but she cannot help but smile anyway. The drawing gets a place above her nightstand and the next time she meets Yoogeun and Minho, Yoogeun is thrilled to see the ring on her pinky. She pinky-promises with the boy that she'll wear it every time they see each other.

A few months pass like this - Junghae meets up with Minho and Yoogeun, sometimes in the library, sometimes in the park. She even sometimes says yes to look after Yoogeun when Minho must feed but she never steps into their territory - they're always meeting outside. Junghae has yet to actually meet the other SHINee members but that one who got Yoogeun from her the first day still makes her feel strange.

On Yoogeuns's 5th birthday Minho invites her over for a small celebratory party and he tells her that everything is okay with the other clan members. Junghae declines though and tells Minho that she would love to celebrate Yoogeun but not with the rest of his clan. It eventually leads to a small argument and gets settled with two birthdays for Yoogeun - one with his vampire uncles and one with Junghae.

It's in absolute horror that Junghae realizes that she has fallen in love with Minho about a year after they met for the first time. She feels guilty and angry at herself for allowing feelings to bloom and she feels like she's betraying Youngjae. Junghae doesn't tell anyone about her feelings but she starts distancing herself from Minho and Yoogeun instead.

Junghae distancing herself leads to the first big argument between her and Minho. She's on her way home from the night club after her shift when he corners her in an alley. The action trigger memories in Junghae which makes her lash out and attack him and before any of them knows what have happened they're laying on the ground, Minho with a black eye and Junghae's hands held together in his to prevent further attacks. Four of her tails are swishing beneath her until she realizes that it's Minho and not he same vampire that attacked her and Youngjae years ago. Eventually the memories are so strong that she cannot hold back the tears and she stars crying. Minho gets awfully surprised at her reaction and instead of asking what's up with the distance like he'd come to do he finds himself cradling her against his chest, letting her cry. When she dries her cheeks an hour later and apologizes Minho gets to ask why she has distanced herself - Junghae doesn't really have a good answer. She doesn't tell Minho about Youngjae and she doesn't tell him that she's in love with him either. The event brings them closer somehow anyway.

Yoogeun is happy to have playdates with Junghae again and the girl even finds herself forgetting about Youngjae and fantasizing about being with Minho. It scares her and she tries her best to keep her thoughts away from Minho, but it's easier said than done.

She's so flustered when Minho casually confesses on a playdate in June that she leaves him without an answer. It takes two days where she contemplates her feelings and she even calls Hyunhee to ask her opinion, before she comes back to Minho and tells him that she likes him back.

Dating Minho is not much different from having their playdates. They're always outside of territory, Junghae still not willing to step into SHINee's territory despite everything being alright with the other clan members. They hold hands while in an amusement park while they're both watching Yoogeun on the merry-go-round. A woman in her late 60's tells them that they're a cute couple and that she hopes they live on with much love. Junghae blushes furiously and Minho laughs.

They're sitting in Minho's kindergarten with Yoogeun. There are no more kids in the room as it is late in the afternoon so all the children have been picked up by their parents. Yoogeun is drawing while Minho and Junghae is talking and laughing a little. When Yoogeun finishes his drawing he shows it to them proudly. The drawing is a family, two big stick figures and one smaller with the names Yoogeun, Minho and Junghae slightly misspelled connected to one stick figure each.

Yoogeun is one lucky kid when his father accepts defeat and tells him that okay, sure, they can eat at McDonalds. Minho is the only one who doesn't eat, obviously, but Junghae finds hapiness in playing with Yoogeun and his Happy Meal toy. When they leave McDonalds and is about to separate Minho can't help himself when he leans closer and pecks Junghae's lips. Junghae is surprised but not all that shocked (which in all honesty surprises herself) and before he can apologize she has leaned closer to him and pecked him as well.

An evening, when Yoogeun is being babysat by the SHINee clan members, Junghae and Minho is in the park, watching the stars above them. Their fingers are tangled together and they're lying close to each other, when Minho begins to tell Junghae some of his past. Not everything, of course. He leaves out everything about the baby girl he had lost and the details about his ex-girlfriend. Junghae, on the other hand, decides to share a little as well. She mainly only tells him about being a North Korean refugee but accidentally slips Youngjae's name into conversation. A quick 'my deceased fiance' settles all questions and Minho shuts her up with a tender kiss. When he lets go of her he smiles and tells her that she doesn't have to say anything else. And then they kiss some more.

Minho buys her the weirdest things, a figurine of a ballet dancer, a t-shirt with Spongebob Squarepants, a phone cover. They're not very romantic but Minho tells her it's on purpose. Because, as much as he really likes her, he doesn't want to replace Youngjae until she's ready to replace him. Junghae feels more and more conflicted because as much as she loved Youngjae she's also fairly sure that Minho really is replacing him - and it's hard to let go of someone whom she loved so much.

It's September when Minho presents Junghae with a handwritten letter. She eyes him suspiciously but opens it anyway to find Yoogeun's messy handwriting in big bold letters tell her that she's invited on a camping trip with him and Papa. Few days later she finds herself in nature, running around trying to catch Yoogeun while Minho sets up the tent. The camping trip is a lot of hugs, kisses and laughter and when they're not playing with Yoogeun, they're sitting in front of the camp fire roasting marshmallows and talking.

They have another date alone while Yoogeun stays home with his vampire uncles and this time the two of them end up in a hotel. The mood is obvious but it isnt until he begins to remove her dress that Junghae ends up remembering her scars and she halts. Minho is quick to catch on and instead of forcing , he just sits there and kisses what skin of hers is bare. With sweet nothing whispered into her skin and promises of never even for a second thinking that's she's ugly, she removes her dress. Minho isn't taken back by the amount of scars, he doesn't even show any sign of disgust. They don't have , Minho instead tracing scars and kissing marks while he tells Junghae just how much he appreciates her.

When they do have it's in late October. Another hotel date and this time Junghae isn't afraid of her scarred body. Instead of rough which one might could have expected from a vampire, their is so incredibly sensitive that it actually surprises the gumiho. Minho is warm and loving and so is the and right before she falls asleep afterwards, he breathes an 'I love you' to her ear before he pecks her. Junghae doesn't know how to respond so she pretends she hasn't heard it.

Junghae finally goes the SHINee territory in November when Minho texts her and tells her they'll have to cancel because Yoogeun has fallen ill. Most of the vampires avoid her, not really wanting to make an attempt to know her, they have other things to do but the one named Almighty Key still sets something off in her, something she cannot really explain but it's not a good feeling, not at all. Junghae tries to forget though as she nurses Yoogeun the best she can.

It's a couple of days later when she finally remembers why that vampire gave her such a bad feeling and she storms into SHINee territory to kill him. Almighty Key isn't there though, so instead her rage results in an intense argument between her and Minho, ending with her sobbing 'he killed him' into Minho's chest. None of the vampires who saw the thing happen really understand what's going on.

The time afterwards is a little strained and Onew has asked Minho not to invite Junghae into SHINee territory again, at least for a couple of months. Junghae feels incredibly bad for Minho but she still hates Kibum with everything she has. She does decide to make it up to Minho by making a surprise birthday date for him. They spend the day Christmas shopping and visiting markets and when it gets time to eat Junghae tells him she has reservations at an expensive restaurant - and she is willing to spend her hard-earned money on him. They take a walk under the moonlight, Yoogeun sleeping in his father's arms despite being almost 6 but it's 1 AM and undestandable. As they separate, Junghae tells Minho she loves him and for the first time it feels right and not like she's betraying Youngjae. She actually really does love Minho.

Junghae wants to tell Minho about Youngjae but she doesn't know how to actually say it and when she takes a look at her finger she realizes she's still wearing Youngjae's ring. As she removes it, it feels like a burden is lifted and when she finds Minho outside the kindergarten she is wearing Yoogeun's plastic ring on her pinky. She holds out a hand and Minho immediately notices the missing silver ring and when he asks Junghae tells him that she's ready to replace Youngjae, but only if Minho is the one who will be replacing him. Minho takes her hand with a smile and mumbles an 'I love you' against her lips. The kids cheer behind them.

How do feel about your clan? Do you feel welcome and happy there? I love them. It's a little ridiculous because no, of course I don't love-love them but really. Not even Junseo or Minseo stand a chance. I just finally feel like I belong somewhere after that bastard killed Youngjae. I wish Hyunhee would join as well, but she's doing well on her own - and Rehab is sort of my new family. I really like it here.

What was your reaction when your clan's ever-lovely Mage, Jinae, brought back that Taemin guy from the SHINee clan back to base, especially when you saw he was unconcious and bleeding? Not again .... Well, technically it's another boy but ... Why did she have to bring him back here? Always in trouble, isn't she?

Which member of the clan are you closest to? Youra. We might be a few years apart in age, but she's easy to talk to. She listens really well and - it's just nice to have someone like Youra here. Really.

Describe yourself to me. How do you see yourself? Don't let what others say influence your answer. Hmmm. That's a good question. I see myself as me, I guess. I'm not really proud of myself unless you're really obviously inferior, but I'm just ... me. Kim Junghae. If you absolutely want adjectives, then I guess I'm a home-body with a burning passion. Maybe.

What species do you hate the most? Why? Vampires. He killed my fiancé! There's nothing likeable about vampires, absolute nothing! Unless you're Mama, then you're sort of okay. Okay, maybe it's just the bastard who killed Youngjae. He can be a species of his own.

Questions? Comments? Concerns?: Whoops.
This got hella long - double whoops.

Also - if you remember Kibum's past you'll know that the vampire who Junghae believes killed Youngjae is Kibum - hence their unhappy past. (Apart from Kibum bullying the young North Korean refugee at the hospital, what a ). (It's there subtly but yeah...)

Go for the timeline love story, omfg, I couldn't stop myself. Help me. Take it from there, I don't know. What the did I do.

Junghae's individual territory color is #CD7F32 - bronze

I mighthave asked this before, but did Minho's daughter have a name you chose or nah? If not that's chill, just wanna know so I can stop calling her "Minho's daughter from Minji's app, the one that died-" when I'm discussing things with my sister. XD
