All about the Princess — 

[ elegant | sarcastic | hesitant ] zhang qiao is elegant. since young, she was brought up to be elegant. she was basically born elegant. everything she was dressed in was elegant, the way she moved was so elegant, people would say she was basically floating around. she was also known to be beautiful amongst her neighbourhood. however, even her elegance could hardly cover up her sarcastic remarks. she would mutter sarcastic remarks under her breath when men around her made idiotic remarks. but then, her hesitance pops in, wondering if she should make that sarcastic remark, wondering if she should continue acting elegant, wondering if she wanted to get married. all these things pop into her mind which makes it difficult for people to take her order because she would sit there, thinking if she really wanted to try wine for the first time but after saying yes, she says no and the wine goes to ruo xi many times.

[ incorruptable | quiet ] she is incorruptable. she hates corrupted people. she hates bribes. if you pay her a bribe as a witness to say you didn't commit a murder (even if you did), she would refuse it, walk away and go on with her daily life because she doesn't want to be a corrupted evil person and will never. she is also quiet. because of how silent she was, many thought she was mute until she muttered a sarcastic remark under her breath around them. she hardly talk unless when spoken to and will almost never talk back.

Background —
[ zhang qiao was brought up alone by her mother and aunt. her aunt despised her whereas her mother cared for her dearly. when her mother wasn't around and was out in the market, zhang qiao would be abused mentally and physically, being forced to do the dishes and cleaning the house up. when her mother found out, she chased her aunt out and took care of zhang qiao on her own. she was taught how to be graceful and learned to play the Qin which was a family possession that had been passed on for many generations. as she learnt how to be graceful, she also grew vegetables and learnt to sell them along side her mother. when she was fourteen, zhang qiao met zhang ruo xi, a rich man's daughter which ended up being her best friend. they made snide, sarcastic remarks together and acted like graceful ladies together. when zhang qiao turned fifteen, her mother fell sick and the following year, she had passed, especially on zhang qiao's birthday. ever since, zhang qiao was unable to celebrate her birthday happily. after losing her mother, she moved in with ruo xi and became her personal servant and best friend. they stayed close and was treated like a daughter in the zhang household despite being a servant for them. while staying with ruo xi, she learnt how to fight hand on hand combat from ruo xi. ]

- "I suppose it's okay"

- "To a man I love or to a man I can learn to love. Ultimately, yes."
4.) What do you think of your Prince? 
- "He seems nice and kind-hearted. I have heard about how he plays his flute and I would love to hear it. However, with so much competition around him, I might be afraid I might not get to know how kind he is."
5.) Do you bear any hatred to the Kingdom you're marrying into?
- "None. I have no reason."
6.) If your Prince were to ask you to sleep outside, what would you do?
- "I would do it, reasonable or not. Maintaining peace is what I plan to do and I will not go against the wishes of someone whom I must love"
7.) If you miss home, what would you do?
- "I would play the Qin. It holds family tradition and gives me a sense of belonging wherever I go... I would also rub the jade bracelet my mother had given me, she earned money to buy that for me and I would treasure it forever."
8.) What should you do to break down your Prince's wall of barrier?
- "Talk to him. Cook him food. Play music for him. Love him? I'm not sure. If his heart loves another girl, I'm afraid I don't know how to make him open a space for me. I would learn to understand him, perhaps maybe instead of trying to make him love me, make him understand himself and become good friends. I could even listen to all his problems and I would try hard to help him and give him advice."
9.) If your Parent-In-Laws yelled at you for being from another Kingdom, what would you do?
- "I won't fight back.  I was betrothed to their son for the peace of our lands. As long as I can maintain the peace, I would not mind getting punished."

- Absolutely not.
11.) How will you deal with the sudden change in the environment, atmosphere, and people surrounding you?
- "I might as well adapt and understand my new surroundings. Of course, it would be hard but I must try. I should at least try to befriend one of the servants and learn the appropriate ways in the new land.
12.) How obedient are you?
- "If I were to rate myself, I would say pretty obedient but only depending on the request. If the request is reasonable and ethical, I would do it no doubt."
13.) If your Prince wanted ou to obey a ridiculous request, would you do it?
- "Depends the how ridiculous it is. If not, I would try to find another way around that request"
14.) Will you write a letter to the Princess that will be coming into your old kingdom? And if you do, what would it consist of?
- "I would! I would mention how kind the Prince is known to be and so on. Ruo Xi's family was invited to the palace once for tea and the Prince and everyone else was incredibly kind, they treated us with much care and I would like to assure her that everything is alright and she could always send a letter to me in times of need"
15.) Is there anything that you would leave behind or give to the new Princess?
- "Well, I would like to leave a napkin I had knitted myself with silk. There's a nice little butterfly which I am quite proud of and I would like her to treasure it despite it being such a normal napkin. It holds much memories for me and I would love for her to keep it."
