Top 5 things I'm tired of hearing as a fanfic writer

1.) Fanfiction is nothing but /Slash fiction.

Look, just cause fifty shades of grey made it big out there (which still doesn't make sense) doesn't mean all fanfiction writers on the net are writing about mummy .
Infact, alot of our s could even pass of as more coherent and comprehensible than the ty abomination that is Fifty Shades of Grey. So I suggest you do some of your research before you call us off as closet-nymphs who have way too much time on their hands, Instead of just labeling each and everyone of us as a female dominant cluster of teenagers; who don't get laid.

2.) fiction is gross.

Not that I've ever written fiction, But I'll get there. For some reason it really bothers me how alot of easily butthurt people who don't like reading , Lesbian, fanfictions have the time to complain about them. Like, how? If you don't like it then should'nt there be a ninety-nine point nine percent chance that you don't even spend any sort of time reading them and complaining afterwards?

3.) Fanfiction writers have bad grammar

I won't deny, some people are too engulfed in a story that they don't ever beta read their stories before posting it. But can you not generalize us? And also Kudos to those people who have english as their second language (LIKE ME) and still go out there and kick by writing. You guys rock, and to the people who do insult fanfiction writers' grammar skills. At least we write stories and some sort of information develops in our brain, unlike the rest of the youthful population that chooses to kill their literacy development by txting lyk dey be bangin d@ #board.

4.) ''Bet you can't write original fiction"

Um. Let me just place this definition of fanfiction here:  fiction written by a fan of, and featuring characters from, a particular TV series, film, etc.
FEATURING, you see that word? FEATURING. Which means that if I took all borrowed characters and places from my BTS fanfiction and changed them into original characters but kept the same plot, thats a motherfudging piece of original work. Oh and by the way before I was even writing fanfiction I already had chots full of novel projects, poems, short stories written in journals or stored in USB's. We write fanfiction cause it's fun, we don't write fanficiton cause we're incapable of writing orginal fiction. If you can write. You can write. Simple as that.

5.) Why do fanfic writers write /Lesbian fiction? It's stupid.

I know this is kinda like no.2 but it really pisses me off so I'm going to add to the category the stupidness of when someone asks questions like: "Why write fiction".
I personally think fanfiction is the best place to explore your uality. fiction and Lesbian fiction is not gross. You're just a sad homophobic piece of dog . Truth be told, the only reason people say that anyway is they probably searched up gay fanfiction (EVEN THOUGH THEY KNOW THEY ARE ANTI HOMO PEOPLE) just so they can say they hate it. Get off your high horse dude, your opinion is so irrelevant that it doesnt stop me from writing how Exo all had one big massive . ./.

What are your thoughts? Things you hate hearing?!

I feel your frustrations. I have never been made fun of for writing fanfiction but it bugs me when it happens to other writers: So we have a hobby. Is it really anything to make fun of someone over a hobby? An interest? It's no different than a person who draws art of characters when you think about.

I've read some amazing works that are sometimes better than the actual canon story: Just because there are writers like of 'My Immortal' or as you said Fifty Shades it does not mean we're ALL like them.

And don't get me started when people find same- fanfiction 'gross'. Sure some can be 'creative' but there are writers who do their research and don't write it poorly. Calling it 'gross' just sounds derogative to me.

I actually grew to be a 'decent' writer because of fanfiction. I learned how important it is to edit your work before you publish it anywhere. I learned to do research on something I don't know anything about instead of making crap up.

*sighs*

Any who. Don't mind me by the way I'm just bothered by this as well how many people view fanfiction as 'laughable' when their are so many beautiful pieces that they don't bother to try and search for.

I'm so confused at the first point why you write /slash ?? o_o' Isn't slash fiction just same- pairings. Im prett sure that's what wiki told me but I might be wrong. owo

But yeah, I would pretty annoyed if people said that to me as well. ; ___ ; especially the original one, like dude, piss off, I can write whatever the I want and just because my characters share name and appearance with an idol (really) doesn't mean the story is not original. T_T
