Why do you think the typical story lines (poor girl-rich guy, werewolves, vampires, contract relationship) are so popular?

I've been looking around through the stories of AFF and I noticed that most of them have the typical, cliche, story line. Story lines like the rich, cold, arrogant guy falling for the poor, hardworking and strong girl. ones involving werewolves and vampires, creatures that were originally made to be deadly and monsterous but are now used as main characters in a young womans romantic fantasy. Stories like two people are in a contract marriage or other type of relationship.

I'm curious as to why these are so popular compared to the unconventional story line. Why do these cliche story lines keeping being used over and over again? Authors promise to make it different but when it comes down to it, is it really that different? Why are readers so drawn to them?

Leave any thoughts below because i think this can be a very fun discussion. Leave your bad thoughts, your good thoughts, those weird thoughts you have in the middle of the night wondering how the first person came to milk a cow, any thoughts! I'd love to read them.

its easy to understand
but i like story that show the members relationship more like ot(put how many members) so i dont like any au except if it hve good storyline
for example for historical or scifi fic, its too complex, you need to think about their power, settings, and many more
so the cliche one easy to make

bcuz most people have boring taste? (if anyone who like those stories see this...please don't kill me...what i say doesn't necessarily have to be fact, n opinions belong to everyone) and many just like what's in trend...? just like how everyone like certain few idols even if tons other just as talented or more being ignored since they're not the trend so ppl don't even bother getting to know them...apparently a lot of people like being part of a majority even if not directly proclaimed...and people probly see the need to follow rules even if they claim to be rebels, different and whatnot....for example...once i wrote a story of a girl with a few possible suitors and people were fighting on who they think should be with her but when i gave her a completely different ending, they got upset and called it disappointing n whatnot...and then writers want to please readers n have their attention so since a lot of readers want the same ol thing....so many writers resort to that but of course their story would be different despite the cliche n unexpected or so they say....i used to be active reader here...but having such hard time to find fic i would be interested to read anymore...i sort of gave up n just log in here to hang around...i like sth different, fresh n relatable/amusing...something like http://www.asianfanfics.com/story/view/683969/ (sorry for the promo but hey, at least those aren't my stories...) but sadly i doubt i have anymore energy to add to the list...

Idk, I find them boring so I never really understood. But I guess it's because it's fantasy. I never understood arranged marriage fics like why would you want to imagine yourself(or anyone for that matter) in an arranged marriage.
Anyway, these cliche plotlines (with the exception of supernatural creatures) are used mostly in OC-fics. Maybe people just doesn't have enough creativity to stray away from them when they're using it all to build their characters? *shrugs*
I like to read vampires, but I only read ships and idk, some of the vampires are really great (not on aff but just written) so ~
