appearance — Height: 5'4''. Weight: 106 lbs. Minji has relatively faded scars on both her wrists from suicide attempts as well as the occasional bruise on her body. This is nothing that can't be hidden with make-up though and nobody really questions her because she's extremely good at covering them up.

Her natural hair is dark brown, but it has been dyed blond now for a long time and she likes it that way. It makes her feel less domestic, more wild and it gives her an illusion of freedom when she's out.

fashion style — Minji usually dresses so she covers her body when she's out in public. This is not to hide the fact that she's y because with all due respect, she rocks her outfits. They usually don't leave not much to imagination, despite covering her skin.

If she happens to be at the dorm she'll wear lesser clothes as she feels more comfortable like that. She also feels a lot ier, especially when she covers her bruises and scars with make-up and gets to be free and beautiful. Minji knows her uality fully and she has absolutely no problem with playing on it to get what she wants. (It also usually works). Dorm clothes also tend to be with shorter sleeves but it happens that she combines her shorts and miniskirts with longer sleeves if there is a particularly nasty bruise.

It does happen (quite often without the company's awareness) that Minji sneaks out to go clubbing during her trainee years. Her outfits are slightly more revealing than her formal wear but both clubwear and formal outfits have the purpose of bringing someone home for a little nightly fun at the dorm.

Trainee years — 3 years, 5 months.
Trainee Life — Minji had just gotten married when Minho urged her to audition for SM Entertainment. "It could be fun to have you as my hoobae", he'd said and Minji had rolled her eyes and ignored him because she sang fine enough in front of her mirror and she didn't need a audience. Then Donghyun had gotten possessive and had started isolating her a couple of months afterwards and Minji had decided to take Minho up on his offer. She filmed an audition video in secret while Donghyun was working and sent it to different agencies, ACube being one of them. The weeks she waited for answer was nervewrecking as her life got more and more isolated. She was invited to a physical audition for ACube and JYPE and had to sneak out of the hospital to attend her physical audition. In the end she was offered a trainee spot at both, but chose ACube, hoping that the news would reach Donghyun later than if she'd chosen JYPE.

Minho was - needless to say - thrilled for her and so was Minsuk. Their parents a little less.

Minji began trainee life with ACube but stayed with Donghyun in their shared apartment in Seoul. She'd told him she had gotten a job and he'd tried to convince her to quit - but Minji was standing strong.

Trainee life was more fun and freedom in the first year. Minji enjoyed being away from Donghyun and being social, and she quickly fell into the habit of sleeping with whoever she met, be it producer, idol, choreographer, vocal trainer and so on.

On her second year she was scolded by management and forced to take training seriously. She still slept around but when she finally focused she also excelled in dancing and singing. Rapping was not - and never will be - Minji's strong point.

Third year came with opportunities and when she after 3 years and 5 months was told she was about to debut with HINa, she finally saw light at the end of the tunnel. Maybe she was able to convince everyone she was good enough.

She was asked whether or not she wanted to learn acting but right now, Minji just wants to focus on singing. She doesn't have a dream of being on the big screen either and she's a little scared that Donghyun will beat her up far worse if he learns about a possible acting career. So none of that for now.

Minji is not the first person you would want to go to for a deep talk and sincere advice. She just simply doesn't care about your problems and while she's all up for gossip, she can't care less about your actual problems. Because of her private life her manipulative and cunning side has really overtaken her positive traits most of the time. This is not to be confused with her abusive husband though. Minji uses her manipulative skills to lure men and women and genders in between into her bed because she may or may not be -addicted and having only one abusive husband just doesn't cut it for her. Keeping her privacy private has excelled Minji's skill in lying and you have to know her pretty well to know that she's lying to you. She does see this as a a positive trait in her idol career though because you never know what paparrazzis will dig up - and she will have a lie to counter anything that is possible to arise. Her ability to lie did cause her to be called fake and a on multiple occasions but Minji has sort of accepted that she is a when she puts on her facade so the word no longer gets to her.

Despite her tough exterior, Minji is vulnerable and very very dependant on those around her. She absolutely despises to be, but with no one close, not even her family, her every social circle taken away, she cannot help but cling to those whom she actually know. This includes some of her band members and her love interest. A one night stand will never be more to Minji than though, don't get her wrong. She's not stupid.

She's suicidal and depressed although nobody knows. Well, they do know about her earlier suicide attempts but they are not aware of how bad it actually is. Minji doesn't trust herself in any way and the only thing that makes her seem so confident to the public is her confidence in her uality. Without her uality, Minji would have most likely been reduced to nothing. While she fools around with men and women and genders in between when she's outside and searches for one night stands, she doesn't mind fooling around with her band members either. They are beautiful girls and Minji is up for ing a beautiful girl. This also makes it so much easier to avoid press and public now that they're about to debut.

She occasionally self-harms when everything doesn't go the way she wants it to but with Donghyun becoming more physical than prior, his beating somehow take over previous self-harm. If he doesn't beat her up for a long time though, she will resort to self-harm because it cannot be true that she deserves happiness for more than 7 days as a maximum.

The most charming part of Minji's personality is her ability to speak and be articulate. It does sound a little stupid yet a great liar and an articulate personality do make a dangerous combination so be careful. Minji uses this to get all she wants, though, and she's not backing down for anyone - well, except her husband. She's also intelligent. Not to say that she's a genius because she is not in any way a genius but she is intelligent. This may or may not have something to do with how she was raised but nonetheless she is a smart idol, not the no-brainer everyone believes her to be because of her love for . Minji likes to spend some time just thinking about this and that and life when she has some time off. She usually does this near the Han river while she sips alcohol alone but it helps her stay somewhat stable despite her loneliness.

Minji is not very optimistic but she does have her small glimpses of hope at times. They're often welcomed because it means she smiles a lot more and laughs genuinely but they doesn't remove her vulnerability or her dependant nature. It's in those small periods of time that one may actually be able to get close to her. If she is in her pessimistic mindset, all there is to life is and that's it and you might as well just kill her.

background —

Minji was born in Incheon as the only daughter in a household of 5. Her parents never lacked money thus Minji's childhood was the characteristic rich childhood. She was basically raised by her nanny and her brothers because her parents were never around.  Minji never formed a strong relation to anyone after her nanny died unexpectedly of a heart attack at the age of 56 when Minji was 12.

Minji doesn't have a very close relationship with her brothers. The three of them are not strangers to each other though, they're just not the close siblings one could have believed. She thinks of herself as inferior to them, courtesy of her mother's favoritism. They both want to be close with her though and they both care about her, which is why they also helped raise her. Minji closed off after the death of their nanny and what the three siblings had got destroyed in the years to come. She never went to any of them for help afterwards, though it was Minsuk who found her during her first suicide attempt and Minho who convinced her to start on antidepressants after her second. None of them know about the third suicide attempt.

At the age of 14, Minji had for the first time and the thrill of having was something she never forgot. She was way too young but the praise she was given for her body made everything so much better. After that she snuck out to find men and have . None of the men and boys with whom she had knew of her young age because she never told anyone. When Minji was 16 her parents moved to Seoul. They were sick of Incheon and moving to Seoul would get them closer to their respective work places. Minji didn't care much about the move.

Minji was introduced to her fiance (and later husband) when she had just turned 17 and although they couldn't get legally married until Minji turned 19, their marriage had - apparently - been arranged for years, even then. Minji's fiance, Donghyun, was a sweet boy 2 years older than Minji and Minji actually did fall in love with him, even to the point of not sleeping around. But after they got married Donghyun showed his real face and started to isolate Minji. She was not allowed to go anywhere without him, not allowed to see anyone without him and had to pick up all his calls. All in the name of love. Donghyun became physical for the first time when Minji was 21 after she returned from practice and smelled of another man's cologne.

Minji was looking for something a lot better even when she was young and the expectations for the young girl caused her to attempt suicide when she was just 13, sick and tired of never being good enough and never getting any attention. She was just never good enough compared to anyone and especially her brothers, whom her parents had a habit of comparing her to. Her next suicide attempt happened shortly after she was introduced to the idea of arranged marriage, before she even met Donghyun. Third suicide attempt happened during her auditions when she was waiting to get her answer and thought there was no way away from Donghyun. She was hospitalized but have refused therapy until now. She does take antidepressant medicine though.

Donghyun knows of Minji's infidelity which more often than not causes bruises and cuts whenever Minji does return home. She sometimes wishes for Donghyun to just kill her and get it over with but now, with her possible debut, she longs to prove to the world that she is more than just a pretty face from a rich, upper-class family.

Minho does try his best to help Minji through the industry though and because he knows about her antidepressants and her marriage, he does his best to shift music show interviews in different directions whenever he's present. He watches her every move in the industry like a hawk because he wants nothing more than for her to succeed and even overcome him.

personality — Jonghyun is a kind, hardworking soul who is very passionate about what he loves. This includes music. He does his best in all areas, unfortunately this also leads to a somewhat work-a-holic lifestyle. He's very emotional and oftentimes needs someone to look after him compared to the more "protective" standard of man. He's opinionated and stubborn and he holds morals to a really high standard, so he doesn't particularly fancy his buddy relationship with Minji although he does hope that she's somewhat faithful to him, just like he is to her. He values her a lot and he doesn't want to become a laughing stock should their relationship not work out so he's also a little hesitating with admitting that he has feelings for her. Jonghyun drowns down his own feelings with work so it's not like he doesn't have something to sort out as well - he just would've wished he had had Minji already by his side while he did so.

first meeting — Minji met Jonghyun for the first time when she was 15 and Minho had decided to invite both family and his band members to his 17th birthday. Minho had just debuted at that time and everything was new and exciting. Minji had been hiding behind Minsuk most of the time until Jonghyun had approached her and introduced himself. The birthday party had been over early but that was the first time they met. They met a couple of years later when Minji was 19 and had just become a trainee. He remembered her as 'Minho's sister' and she swore she would become a woman to him some day.

relationship — Jonghyun eyes Minji relatively varily to begin with because he, too, have heard the rumors about her sleeping around. Minho swears that his sister doesn't do stuff like that and Jonghyun wants to believe him but he can't let go of the rumors. Minji, on the other hand, doesn't really care for rumors and enjoys the same way she always have. The two meet up relatively often (together with the rest of SHINee) because of Minho and on one evening where they've all gotten a little too drunk, Minji seduces Jonghyun and they have the entire night. Slow love-making.

Minji realizes her mistake the next morning when she wakes up in his bed to his cologne and his soft hair tickling her chin and she realizes that maybe a one night stand with Kim Jonghyun was't the best of all great ideas.

This is the initial beginning of their relationship when Minji leaves without a word and Jonghyun texts her angrily. They meet up at a her dorm and Minji tries her best to explain that it was just , except it's not and she knows it deep inside, she just doesn't want to acknowledge it.

The two of them end up agreeing to a friends-with-benefits kind of relationship, and although she knows it hurts Jonghyun to just be buddies, she also can't reveal her marriage with Donghyun, her abusive husband, and her depression. So she lures him into a somewhat lie that he believes. Minho told her to watch out because Jonghyun is observant but she believes that she has him wrapped around her pinky. It's dangerous and it provokes feelings inside of her she doesn't want to feel and she's scared of losing whatever ed up thing they have if she tells him. So she cheats on Donghyun with Jonghyun and on Jonghyun with various one night stands while she tries to sort herself out.

So I added the band member category to sort of describe Minji's relationships with her band members as I see them right now. How she would work out with the others without knowing them 100 %. But yeah, an overview sort of thing. I hope it doesn't put you off. Of course these relationships can be altered and changed as you see fit when you start writing the story, nothing is set in stone in those relationships!
