current lifestyle. hyunwoo currently live with his girlfriend, kim junghee, in their high rise apartment in the middle of yongsan-gu, seoul, where hyunwoo's main office is located as well. he's working most of the time though and is therefore rarely home. he also spends a fair deal of his time outside of korea and in airplanes to manage the international branches and the marketing best.

 

hyunwoo's father is the ceo of the company, hence hyunwoo's title already despite his young age. he has proven worthy of his position though and his father is very proud of him. hyunwoo's mother, on the other hand, couldn't care less about her husband and her son, and has been an alcoholic ever since hyunwoo was 15. hyunwoo still cares for his mother and wants her to fight her alcoholism but he masks this to make sure no one knows. he's from the upper-class and has never had anything less than the best of the best. junghee usually jokes with hyunwoo and says he's gotten everything served on a silver plate but hyunwoo hates jokes like that and they usually end in fights between the two.

 

hyunwoo grew up in gangnam with his parents and has always had it easy. he's an only child and therefore doesn't have anybody else. he never really learned how to share, which is also why he is so self-centered as he is. he gets what he wants.

 

hyunwoo spends most of his days working and when he does have free time he enjoys a glass of wine and a good book on his couch. he rarely goes out to see people unless they're clients and he has a very few selected friends whom he has had since childhood. only one of his friends belong to the middle-upper class, the rest belongs to the upper-class just like hyunwoo himself.

 

if he is seen in public it's often with junghee while they walk hand in hand beside the han-river to help her gain inspiration for her next collection. nless hyunwoo is overseas he can also always be found in the first row audience of junghee's fashion shows, because he likes to show his support to his girlfriend.

 

junghee wants animals, but hyunwoo usually tells her they can't have animals because none of them are home long enough to take care of them. in reality he just doesn't bother caring for an animal as he sees it as waste of his time.

 

trivia.

~hyunwoo dislikes all kinds of sports which has gotten him in trouble over time whenever big clients have wanted to "go out for a little golfing" or anything alike.

~hyunwoo is super determined and he almost always gets what he wants. this doesn't come without a prize though - but it's usually a prize he is willing to pay.

~his subordinates would most likely tell you he's a "stonecold " but hyunwoo doesn't care because his subordinates doesn't understand the importance he holds in his position. (he also does enjoy firing some of them occasionally)

~despite his cold business-like demeanor, he's usually very attentive whenever junghee gossips about what has happened in her social circles.

~his intense personality is only really expressed when he's with junghee. he feels deeply but this is rarely shown to the public.

~hyunwoo is a great judge of character when he wants to be because he is so observant. this is why he works so well in the marketing department of their company. he knows where the good deals are and what works for the public.

~hyunwoo likes red wine better than any other alcohol. junghee did propose the idea of him not becoming an alcoholic like his mother but he dismissed it.

~he has been with a few friends to brothels but he has never ed a e.

~hyunwoo can't cook to save his life. before junghee moved in, he had a chef to create his dinner for him - junghee fired the chef.

~he will drown stress in red wine or with junghee.

~hyunwoo is usually not very patient but years in the business has learnt him how to be patient with cumbersome clients.

~his phone is very rarely on silent because he is in constant demand and has to be available at all times.

when he is called in as a juror, he is on his way to an important business meeting overseas - which doesn't exactly make his willingness to listen and be attentive bigger.

relationships. kim junghee - hyunwoo's girlfriend of 4 years. she's a designer and works for the same company as hyunwoo, yet their offices are located away from each other so they don't usually meet at work. she softens his cold demeanor and hyunwoo actually listens to her. although they do fight (and maybe also more often than other couples) they love each other a lot. none of them verbally expresses their love a lot but gestures and actions speak louder than words to both of them. junghee is more sociable than hyunwoo. she has a kink for public which often results in office (not that this is incredibly important, lol).

kwon Sangchul - hyunwoo's father. the two doesn't interact a lot outside of business purposes but hyunwoo has to tell him that he has to show up in court as a juror. and there's not a lot hyunwoo can do to change this. hyunwoo respects his father a lot and has never had a bad impression of him. sangchul is proud of his son and couldn't have wished for a better son. he proudly brags about his only son when he can.

Song misook - hyunwoo's mother. misook is an alcoholic and she doesn't really care about her son and her husband. she's been cheating on sangchul more than once as well, but her husband doesn't care. they're just living in some sort of partnership. hyunwoo cares for his mother though he never lets it show, other than to junghee who (on more than one occasion) has had to comfort a crying hyunwoo after his mother have been doing something stupid.

lee sungjin - hyunwoo's best friend. the two have been childhood friends and sungjin, too, belongs to the upper class. sungjin works with the arts. sungjin is a great way for hyunwoo to let off steam whenever something is bothering him and he doesn't want to bother junghee. they meet up for glasses of redwine and steak but rarely see each other outside of the safety of their apartments.

strengths. his observant and intuitive personality will be a useful if he chooses to actually observe and follow his intution despite his annoyance. this is a great way for him to determine what seems right and what seems wrong. (ofc he's no psychic and he, too, can be wrong) he has to actually focus though before this becomes very useful.

weaknesses. first of all, anything that delays the process of the trial and thus triggers his impatience is a weakness during trial. also his self-centered personality and his intolerance might trigger some problems. his decisions will be made with haste during the trial because he doesn't want to delay the process even more. his mind is elsewhere and this could be trouble as well.

 

responsibility. 4 (usually high but seeing as he wants this over and done with, he doesn't put much thought into this)

comments. i got inspiration from your character #2, the young businessman. this is completely new and i don't know if i described him well enough. ; _ ;

suggestions. mmh, maybe his phone rings during the trial? maybe he ignores the other jurors? maybe his sweet facade crumbles and he becomes a basic ? i honestly see him as one of the less liked characters, but i wanted him to be that way, because he is not invested in the case at all.
