Another one~

Back with another questionnaire. These questions are pretty nice, hope you have fun reading the answers. If any of you answer them as well let me know. It's a good way for all of us to get to know each other. ^^

1.       What is the one thing that makes you special and unique?

I honestly have no idea. I mulled over this question for more than 20 minutes but I’ve got nothing so far. I’m basically just an average person really. Not too tall nor too short, not so tan nor so fair, not too thin nor too fat. I’m a better singer than a dancer, more of a swimmer than a runner. I hate scary movies but I can read horror stories. I cry at sad movies and shout at the tv when a sports team I like isn’t doing well. My siblings and I fight over who’s slowing down the internet speed yet we all will grumble about our parents when they scold us or fight with each other. I’ve had plenty of bad days, but there’s always some good days in between them.

This doesn’t seem to answer the question does it? Funny how education taught us things like maths, physics and the lot, but I’m stuck at this. ^^

2.       How do people perceive you?

I’m like their counsellor apparently. Or like a judge. I’m the one they run to when they had a row. According to them, I actually listen to both sides first before I make a judgement. It’s very flattering to hear that, yet at times it is burdensome as well. I kept thinking, ‘What if I gave wrong advice?’ But so far so good. I’m glad.

3.       If money was not a constraint, what would you be doing with your time?

Two things pop up in my head at this question. First is to travel. I want to see everything. I want to stay in one place for a month or so, live there, meet and become neighbours with the people, know some of their local people and have a job there. Basically I want to leave a mark. Being a tourist means you just visited the place and enjoy the fun parts. I want to live in the place and enjoy the fun parts and also feel how the locals live like. A few days isn’t going to cut it, that’s why I figured maybe a month or two just might.

The other thing is to do what I really want with my career. I took my profession based more on the fact it allows me to get financial aid more easily. I’ve got siblings, we needed money. I don’t resent my choice, but it has always haunted me. What if? I regret it so bad, and some days I get really sad. Now I still get sad, but it doesn’t happen as often as before.

4.       What do you do for a living?

Part time jobs during the semester holidays.

5.       What are you grateful for?

That I’m still strong. I hated being sad, but at the same time I’m grateful for it. I let myself be sad for a day, and then the next day I feel stronger and am able to get through. Family is important, but I think they don’t understand my type of sadness. My mother says I should try being closer to god, but it’s hard to feel close to something you can’t physically feel, hear and see. I have a nice network of friends, but I hated telling them how sad I am. I don’t want to bring the mood down. It’s not like they don’t have their own problems.

6.       If you die tomorrow, will you be happy with the life you’ve lived?

I don’t think I will. There’s still so much more to life, and I want to get over my hurdles before I die. Only then will I feel that I can go happily.

7.       What is the one movie that you don’t mind watching over and over? (or the one book you could just read any number of times?)

For movies, my favourite is Mulan. I can watch it every week haha! My favourite book is Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami.

8.       If someone made a movie out of your life, what will it be like?

I hope it’ll be a motivational movie. I wish it would carry a message. That no matter how hard it is, no matter how alone you feel, you’ll piece together shreds of the strength you have left and carry on. That it’s alright to cry when you want to, but also to wipe your tears and stand up again to continue your journey. That you could find happiness in small things along that journey that makes it able for you to go on. We determine our own happy ending. Other people can offer help, but we’ve got to be the one to take the step.

9.       If you are in a sinking ship with everyone you know, and you could only save 10 people, who would it be?

I’d like to think that I’ll be that movie heroine who will save the children or people who the world needs. But truthfully? I think I will jump in the boat first and drag the nine other people I loved more.  I’m only human.

10.   If you die today, who will miss you the most?

My family and close friends.

11.   What will they say in your eulogy?

I can’t even pretend to know. But I hope they will talk about how nice I am and that I made them happy. I also hope they can remember me with a smile.

12.   If you had the power to make someone vanish, who would that be?

Politicians. They seem to be nothing but liars. Also criminals such as murderers, child abusers and rapists. But truthfully, there will always be more who’ll replace them. Even if I continuously get rid of them, there will always be someone new who will take their place.

13.   If tomorrow’s newspaper read “ shot dead” who would be the person holding the revolver?

The murderer, obviously.

14.   Are you a better person today than you were last year at this same time? Or 10 years ago?

I hope I am. I certainly feel better than I did last year. 10 years ago I’m a child, nothing can beat those times.

15.   What was your last random act of kindness?

I usually help people with directions. Does that count? LOL

16.   How many hours of a day do you spend on unproductive activities like watching TV, snooping around on others’ facebook profiles, idle gossip etc.?

It varies. Definitely a few hours.

17.   What if you lose all your money?

I will get pretty annoyed. Might go on a witch hunt until I find where it went. I’m crazy like that.

18.   Who is making most of the decisions in your life? – you, those around you or your circumstances?

Circumstances and family. I do make some of my own judgements, but I usually consider all other aspects as well.

19.   What is the one thing you fear the most when you think of yourself as an old person?

That I have nothing worth smiling about when I think of my youth.

20.   Will you ever be invited to give a talk (eg. TED) or an interview (eg. Oprah) etc.?

I don’t even like talking to my friends about my own problems so I doubt I’d be bold enough to talk to the masses. Although if it was a program where I help listen and solve someone else’s problem, I might give it a try.

Out of all the questions, #19 hits me the hardest :') Like, for real, what am I gonna do when I'm old?
