I know I recently started doing that, and if I have headphones with me I normally do listen to the song that they post about at the top of a chapter. I'm not exactly a subscriber of your's but reading stories with songs that the author listened to while writing does help set the mood if needed! ^^

i would play it when im connected to wifi but if im using my mobile data, my data will run out pretty fast so i will not play the song when im on my mobile data :)

Well, I have done it since sometimes I lose inspiration to write halfway and a song can sometimes "save" the chapter and bring me back XD (But it really depends on your preference...nowadays, I have a harder time trying to develop the plot because the song I want to choose isn't really the one that suits it the most and all XD

I recommend songs sometimes for writing because it sets a tone of some sort, but I usually never tell readers: "I was listening to X and Y while writing this piece/chapter" because really, it's up to themselves to interpret the piece. Personally, I don't take orders very well, so if you say to listen to a certain song while reading your work I probably wouldn't.

(However, I would most certainly listen after I was done with the writing, because I love music.)

Personally I don't do it and I don't like it. For one, I believe a story should be strong enough to stand on its own without a soundtrack. It's not a movie. Secondly, everyone gets something different out of a song. Just because you as the writer find a specific song absolutely wonderful and moving and fitting of the story, your readers might not.

Oh, just remembered I have done it once, though it was less of a soundtrack and more of a "this is the melody he is playing on the piano"-kind of thing. I wouldn't blame my readers if they skipped it though. I always skip music when it's inserted into stories.

Yes, I've noticed it in quite a few pics.
But, its up to the readers to listen to them or not. I don't, usually. Unless, its a song already on my playlist and I know it would go with the theme of the chapter/story.
I do get inspired by songs quite often and I think many other authors do as well and that is why they put up this playlist.
I would suggest just mentioning at the top of the chapter that the particular song inspired you and such. :)

Yes, I'll support you if you put music at the top of the page. I'm sure SoundCloud or youtube are a bit helpful, if you're okay sharing your account of course, because they will display your username.

But yes, I do listen to the songs as I read, the really calm ones are always best. I suggest melancholy or ballads that are slow toned and not fast paced.

I've seen it but it's not the majority of fics I've read. And no, I don't listen because I get distracted from actually reading so I'd rather not have background noise e.g. music. ^^

Hey! Personally, I don't listen to the songs that are placed at the top or during a chapter because I think it distracts and affects my personal interpretation of the writing. The song would automatically set up the atmosphere of the scene which I don't favour and not many authors do that as most readers don't actually bother to listen to it especially if they're listening to their own music. I've never listened to a playlist but I don't mind listening to the songs that inspired the writer if I seriously love the story. I plan to check out your stories because I only found out about you while scrolling through blogs XD but if you like the songs and you believe it will add onto the reader's emotions whilst reading then go ahead! Music is always nice and hopefully people will listen to them!

Honestly, I've seen many, but I usually don't listen to them, but if you do, I suggest you use soundcloud to add the songs.
