Background

Seorin was born on April 21st, 1996 in Seoul, South Korea. She was born into an artistic family as both her father is an Artist and her mother is a Pianist, thus she has been surrounded by music and art since a young age. She also has an older brother and younger brother, making her the middle child.

When she was 5, her father was offered a job in America as an Artist, and the whole family soon moved there. She attended a school there like any other normal student. Her mother gave her speial piano lessons and she learned fast, even going to competitions and winning a few. She was a child prodigy in piano.

At the age of 14, her father has decided to move back to Korea to pursue his career there. Few weeks back in Korea, she went for a piano competition and won, making it her 6th win. That was when a rep from Cube came up to her when she was walking back home with her mother.

They offered her a chance to be a trainee there as they were impressed with her piano performance. At first, she wasn't quite sure whether she wanted to be an idol but her parents and brothers supported her, and soon she decided to be a trainee.

During her trainee days, she struggled to get used to the new environment as she got in by her piano, not vocals or dancing or rap. But soon, she got used to it and the vocal trainers there found that she had a strong and powerful voice.

Ever since then, she has improved greatly and her dancing got better as well. 6 years into her trainee days and she was finally given the chance to debut in Cube's new girl group, Mystique.

• Seo Jin Soo | 16 | Student, Trainee at Cube | Both Seorin and Jinsoo are trainees at Cube. Jinsoo had originally wanted to be an idol after his sister went to Cube, and went to audition at the age of 15 for his dancing.
   

THE FACE BEHIND THE MASK

Personality Traits: 

Seorin is a filial daughter. She puts her family first and takes care of them in any way she could. She is grateful for all the help and support they gave her during her trainee days.

On the outside, Seorin looks cheerful and bright, but it was all a facade in front of the camera. Deep down, she is actually an introvert who is shy and awkward to talk to other people. The reason she acts outgoing on camera is because she is afraid the fans would not like her real personality.

Her members and the company, along with her real and close friends all know of her quiet nature. It's not that she's absolutely shy to talk to people, but rather, she feels awkward whenever meeting someone new. Her quiet nature prevents her from starting a conversation or willingly talk to someone.

When she is close with someone, she would feel more comfortable with them and talks more.

Other than that, Seorin is very considerate and giving. She acts behind the scene and takes care of the members despite being one of the youngest. For example, if they were to choose something, she would allow the members to pick first and then pick the last remaining one. 

She keeps her problems to herself a lot. And sometimes, she would feel frustrated because of that but she doesn't tell anyone, she doesn't want to burden anyone. But, she confides with her older brother about her problems sometimes.

She is grateful for all the small little things someone does for her. For example, helping her to practice her dancing, or buying her food when she's hungry. She tries to repay every action by helping them as well.

Besides that, she is considered mature for her age. The members sometimes goes to her for help or for advice. She helps them to do their chores sometimes if they are busy and takes cares of them when they are sick.

She is someone very likeable. For some reason, people like to be in her presence as it gives off a calm and happy demeanor. Like a pillar that won't break and will always support them.

Likes: 

• Black - it's her favourite colour; most of her clothings are of black, white and grey.
   
• Figurines - she likes to buy those figurines made of lego and build them when she has free time. Her favourite figurine is of Stitch.
   
• Stitch - it's her favourite cartoon character. She has a figurine of it, and a onesie as well.
   
• Eating - it's her guilty pleasure. She has a big stomach so she eats a lot; her favourite food is Hanwoo/Korean beef.
   
• Rain - she likes the weather, as it gives a calming effect.
   
• Ed Sheeran, Stevie Wonder and Rain/Bi - her favourite artists. She looks up to them and likes to sing their song.
   
• Sunrise and sunset - sometimes, she would wake up early in the morning to watch the sunrise, and the sunset as well.
   
• Piano - she's a child prodigy after all, and she loves playing the piano a lot. Her favourite piece is 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star', the first piano piece she played.

Dislikes: 

• Doing the dishes - she hates, absolutely hates doing the dishes. She despises it so much that she would do two times the chores in exchange for it.
   
• Learning new dance moves - rather than disliking it, she feel annoyed at learning a new move as it takes her a longer time to learn compared to the other members.
   
• Being alone - although she feels awkward around people, she would rather be in awkward silences than being alone. She is scared because she was kidnapped once before in America at night in her home. Luckily, her parents woke up and her neighbours saw her in time.
   
• Cockroach - she hates that little thing, just hates it.
   
• When people criticizes her - Seorin is bad at accepting criticizes or insults. Although she should be used to it as idols gets a lot of it, she feels scared and down, thinking that she didn't do good or all her hardwork was for nothing. So she puts extra effort whenever she learns something, be it dancing or singing.
   
• Exercises - being the pig she is, she would rather lie down and do nothing than exercise.
   
• Diets - she absolutely resents diets. Because she eats a lot and loves food, she always glare at her manager/company rep when they tell her to go on a diet.

Hobbies:

• Watching the sunrise and sunset - she would wake up early in the morning whenever she can to watch the sunrise, and the sunset as well.
   
• Anime - she's a er for animes. When she doesn't have scheules, she would watch anime if she doesn't have prior business. Her current favourite anime would be 'Kuroko no Basuke'.
   
• Basketball - although she doesn't like exercising, basketball is an exempt. She was in the school team in her school in America and has won a few matches. Her manager/company allows her to play basketball sometimes as another way of exercising.

Habits:

• Daydream - she has that 'blank~' look whenever she daydreams and her members make fun of her because of it. It's a habit she develop from thinking about something when she was a trainee.
   
• Shaking her left leg and tapping her right feet - it's a bad habit of hers and her manager always tries to tell her to stop. Her members also advises her to stop it. She shakes her left leg sometimes when eating, and taps her right feet when she's waiting or annoyed.
   
• Cracking her knuckles/fingers - it's another guilty pleasure for her. It helps her to relax her hands.
   
• Eating every last piece of food on her plate - when she was younger, she saw a cartoon show that shows that every piece of rice has a wish to be eaten (lol), and ever since then, she has tried to eat every bit of food. She stopped believing in it soon after, but it became a habit.

Pet Peeves:

• Chewing with the mouth open - she was taught to always eat with close, so she finds it rude when someone does that.
   
• Grammar errors - her favourite subject was language, so she is annoyed when someone types with grammar errors. For example, 'your' instead or 'you're', 'u' instead of 'you'.
   
• Loudmouths - she's fine if they're in a room or when they're alone, but if it's in public and someone talks/laughs loudly, she would feel embarassed and annoyed.
   
• Copycats - she absolutely hates it when someone copies her. Like she does a certain adlib in a performance, the next day that members does the same.

LOVE INTEREST

Name: Lee Gikwang
Group: Beast

Personality:

Gikwang is a ladies' man. He knows how to treat a woman good and is used to receiving interest from the opposite . You could say that he's a womanizer, a romantic behind the scene that almost all idols know. He has a fun and welcoming personality that many likes, just like Seorin. Compared to Seorin, he is outgoing and loves to make new friends. They have contrasting personalities that strangely goes well together. (aww.)


How they met:

They first met a few months before Seorin debuted. She was practicing a new dance move and was doin quite terribly when Gikwang walked into the dance room. She was embarassed because her senior saw her but he merely smiled and told her that he would teach her.

He was expecting her to agree wholeheartedly (I mean come on, who wouldn't say yes to learn from Gikwang) as most woman tend to accept whatever request or help he makes, but she strongly refused his help and ran out. He was dumbfounded.

Determined to meet and talk to her again, he dropped by the company whenever he can to see her training/practice. The other trainees there were happy and tried to show off to him, hoping to earn some brownie points to debut soon, but Seorin was awkward and shy whenever he came, and messes up occasionally.

He thought that it was cute.

When she finally debuts, they were given the chance to perform together for Cube's family concert (idk just a suggestion). At first, she felt awkward and embarassed as she couldn't forget the time he saw her at her worst when dancing, but after a couple of practice together, she soon warmed up to him and both of them maintained a good relationship ever since.

Interactions: 

Seorin, the quiet one, and Gikwang, the cheerful one. Of course, whenever they meet up it was Gikwang who does most of the talking while she replies with a few words.

Gikwang finds her cute and always teases her such as pinching her cheeks or bumping her shoulders, while Seorin is absolutely horrified as she doesn't know what to do and just stares straight ahead.

As they get closer, they always find themselves in weird and awkward situations, at least to Seorin. Gikwang just finds it fun. Situations like sharing food and feeding each other unknowingly, or laying on shoulders as well. The members and idols from Cube teases them a lot as they act like a couple, but both denies.

Sometimes, Gikwang would offer to teach her new dance moves, and in return she would teach him how to play the piano.

It was Gikwang who starts realising his feelings for her, and he's always happy whenever she shows affection for him, although it was mostly him that asks her to. (such as asking her to feed him etc.)

Although a bit awkward, they went from strangers, to friends, and to something beyond that; they just won't admit it but the feelings are definitely there and quite obvious as well.

Among their peers, they are known as the 'GiRin' couple, or Giraffe couple as Girin means giraffe in Korean. When they relationship became a scandal and both admitted they are dating, fans started calling them 'GiRin/Giraffe' couple as well.


BACK-UP LOVE INTEREST

Name: L/ Kim Myungsoo
Group: Infinite

Personality: 

Quiet and calm, quite shy as well, just like Seorin's. 

How they met: 

They met during a variety show together (Running Man, or something) and were placed in the same team. Behind the scenes, both of them got close as both are quiet, and understands each other. They constantly meet each other such as broadcasting stations, or variety shows, etc.

Interactions: 

Compared to Gikwang, L is very composed and keeps to himself a lot. Seorin likes that his personality and enjoys her time with him. Both of them talk about many stuffs, but one of the most brought up topics would be photography.

L has an interest with photography, while her older brother majors in it. Not only that, L is secretly a fan of her mother, and they play the piano together sometimes.
