Evie Jones Has Been Accepted At Hogwarts!

meet Evie, Our little ball of sunshine, weirdness, and chaos:

NAME Evie Sienna Jones
NICKNAMES
Devil's Spawn - most of the students at Hogwarts call Evie this because of her tendency to cause mayhem and havoc, unintentionally.
Outcast - because of her quirky and curious personality, most of the students avoid her (because they're scared, but they won't admit it) so they won't get into any trouble. The bullies at Hogwarts call her this.
Jones - just like the infamous "Potter", Snape calls Evie by her family name as well. More so than others because of the trouble she brings (heh).

BIRTHDATE September 7
BIRTHPLACE London, England, United Kingdom
HOMETOWN London, England, United Kingdom

BLOOD STATUS Muggleborn
ETHNICITY British
LANGUAGES
English - Fluent - well it's her mother language. "Fancy meeting you here."

FACECLAIM Mackenzie Foy
APPEARANCE Besides the small almost unnoticeable little freckles on her cheekbones and the bridge of her nose, Evie has a pair of golden yellow eyes that makes her look just a tiny bit more feral and playful than she already is. Also, most people mistake her for being younger than them (even though they're just 11) because of her babyface.

FASHION Frills, laces, dresses and skirts of all kinds, you name it. But oh would Evie so prefer to wear some jeans and plain tees for once. If not for her mother's request for her to wear clothes to be more ladylike (and also that little threat she made), she wouldn't even bother.
Don't judge on what you see:

PERSONALITY
(+) Innocent, Daring, Genius, Outgoing, Free-spirited, Passionate, Curious
(-) Clumsy, Slow, Dunce, Troublemaker, Blunt, Easily distracted

Evie is, in a nutshell, one of a kind. Well at least among the people at Hogwarts she is. Evie grew up travelling around with her father, which sprouted her outgoing, free-spirited and definitely curious personality. You'd be talking to her one moment and then you'll see her touching and prodding stuffs she find fascinated around her. Evie portrays a childlike and innocent personality, her fascination and curiousity would be the most prominent thing about her. Following this, Evie strives to learn everything she sees. Give her a book and she'll be done with it in 2 hours tops, with a whole lot of questions to answer. Evie is easily intrigued by many things, and there isn't really anything that she hasn't taken interest upon herself. This has brought her the status of being a "genius", but she doesn't really show it much, what with her carefree and aloof being, so everyone doesn't really think much of her prodigious status. ((psst think Shikamaru!))

But, one thing about Evie is that her curiousity is also a downfall for her. Add her clumsy self to this and you get a big mess with fire alarms going on and the water sprinkles activated. Evie is so so so clumsy, you can't even trust her with holding a book without her destroying it or losing it in some way. Evie is also easily distracted, in accordance to her curious personality. Many people don't trust her on many things because of this. For example, despite excelling in flying lessons and mastering on using the broom on the first day of class, she managed to insert too much magic because she was distracted by a bird, causing the broom to explode. Thank god she wasn't hurt, of course. Because of this, her classmates always avoid her whenever she's around.

And so, this has earned her the infamous "troublemaker" title, even though none of it was her intention. But Evie doesn't really mind, because she doesn't even realise what trouble she brings to Hogwarts. Despite being a genius, Evie's a little slow and dunce on a few things. Like, there was this one time, she walked in on a boy confessing to a girl, and she thought they were gossiping, what with their small whispers and such. "Oooohh what are you guys talking about, hmm? Something juicy, yes?" Those two never got together because of her. Another thing about Evie is that she's really blunt. Evie has this small "cold" side to her; she doesn't really mind or care much about people's feelings (mostly because of her aloof personality, but she's a sweetheart, really.) Evie doesn't shy away from a secret, or if she has to break a bad news to someone. Evie feels that it's a waste to delay and prolong anything. After all, anything could happen to anyone. Why not just say it and get over with it so that life can move on and you won't regret it?

And so, in conclusion, despite having a few small, maybe big problems to her, Evie will always be that weird but charming little ball of sunshine in Hogwarts, even with that small speck of darkness in her.

BACKGROUND
Evie was borned on September 7 to Wilfred and Mavis Jones while a great storm was brewing. Her parents were on their way to the hospital when it happened, causing them to make a pit stop at one of the nearby shelters instead. Evie's birth was helped by the paramedics and a few retired nurses there. And so, little Evie was brought to the world on a stormy night surrounded by people who had lost many and the stench of blood from the wounded. During her first few days of life, Evie had little to no proper care as should a newborn receive. Resources were limited and people were dying, but 3-day-old Evie knew nothing of it.

It was when she was 2-weeks-old that she opened her eyes and her parents saw her golden yellow eyes that they came. The storm, for some reason, had continued brewing strongly, and most of the people around her neighourhood has stayed at the underground shelter. No one saw it coming, hell, none of them should even be meeting them. Death eaters appeared, a total of 4 of them appearing. Everyone was terrified, with Mavis and Wilfred holding on to their baby girl tightly. The death eaters had walked around slowly picking up some boys and girls with a levitating spell, causing everyone to gasp. Magic! No one had expected it to happen. The boys and girls were thrashing wildly and a hit to the neck made them stop. Apparently, the Death Eaters had been recruiting more soldiers, and a few of the Muggles there were Muggleborn.

As they came upon Evie, they felt an immense untapped potential in her and decided to take her as well. But just before they could, the Aurors and wizards from the wizarding world had came, and hell ensued. Fights went on, innocent people were injured, but thankfully no one died. The Aurors then casted a memory erasing spell on each of them, and decided against casting it on Evie because of her premature self and casting magic on a baby may harm its growth. What they didn't take into account was that Evie was a special girl, and her bright golden eyes were open the entire time, taking in what she could see and remember before falling back asleep.

Years past and until now, Evie still remembered that scene as if it happened yesterday. Call it a disease or maybe a sickness, but Evie could remember very much of her life. The date and time she saw her parent's first fight, the moment she caught a butterfly with her shoe, the words her mother yelled at her for being unlady-like. It was as if her brain was an unlimited sponge.

Her mother was a retired designer, now working as a housewife. Mavis had dreamt of playing dress up with her daughter, but her dreams were crashed when Evie had shown the complete opposite of interest. Evie would rather go travelling with her father as he worked, would rather roll in the mud with the neighbourhood boys, would rather wear pants instead of skirts. Because of this, Evie and Mavis' relationship slowly grew distant, until it became a 'good morning' and 'good night' only. On the other hand, Evie liked spending time with her father. Wilfred, who was a chef, would be travelling most of the time around the city to teach hopeful youths and cook for the many restaurants that requested him. Evie had been astonished by the fascinating stuffs around her, preferring to roam around the places her father brings her to. Once, while her father was helping a boy on how to finely chop an onion, she had mixed a bunch of ingredients in a pot. Long story short, her father regretted ever tasting it, having been wondering if Evie had inherited his sense of taste in food. She apparently had not.

Years went by until she was 11, when a owl had flewn into the house with a letter. The family of three had been eating their dinner and had the shock of their life. As Wilfred took the letter, a knock to the door alerted them of a presence. Evie had ran towards the door and opened it with a big grin. She loved meeting people!

"Hello! How may I help you?" Evie said brightly.

The woman on the other side cocked her head to the side, "Are you Evie Jones?"

"That's me, at your service!" She announced with a salute, causing the woman to smile slightly.

"Are your parents' at home? There's something important that I must discuss with them."

Evie cocked her head to the side, "Discuss about what?" Her golden eyes sparkled ever so lightly against the moonlight, curiousity b out of her.

The woman finally crackled a laugh, her voice soft and smooth, bringing goosebumps to Evie. She looked down at the girl and said, "What other than about Hogwarts, my dear?"

She introduced herself as Isobel Whits, a professor at Hogwarts, a wizarding school. She even gave them each a card, to which Evie had read with great interest while her parents had their jaws slacked. She had explained that Evie possess great magic in her, and that Hogwarts would like to invite her to study there. A few yells about fraud from her mother, her patient father trying to comprehend what was going on and the lady explaining as kindly as she could to them later, Evie finally spoke up.

"Is this about the incident that happened when I was just a baby?" she said innocently, her eyes blinking at Isobel.

"Incident? What incident?" her mother quickly asked.

Isobel had came to a halt then, staring at the girl's innocent and curious eyes. Curious, with a calculating and understanding gaze that would be easily missed if one had not payed attention. "You are one scary kid, you know?" Isobel said with a small smirk.

And so, Isobel had explained to her parents, and to herself of course, what took place 11 years ago during the underground shelter. To say that her parents were shocked was an understatement. Isobel had said that she would be back tomorrow, expecting an answer by then. As soon as she left, Evie had turned towards her parents with sparkling eyes, begging them to let her go. Her mother was adamant on saying "no, no and NO" to her, while her father had been silent the whole. Just as she was losing hope on going, her father had placed his hand on his wife's, sharing a silent conversation together.

Evie waited with shaky hands and feets, waiting as patiently as she could. Finally, her mother turned towards her and said, "We''ll let you go on one condition, you'll have to obey me as your mother and learn to be the proper lady you're supposed to be."

Evie had protested at first, but one look from both her parents told her she was no match. And so, the next day as Isobel came, Evie was seen dressed in a lacey shirt and some frilly skirt that her mother had made for her and her luggages by her side. This led Isobel to promptly burst out laughing at Evie's flushed face and her mother's satisfied smirk.

After bidding farewell, Isobel and Evie had headed towards the station. When Evie asked why couldn't Isobel just transport them to this Hogwarts with what magic she has, Isobel just winked at her before pushing her trolley towards platform 9 3/4 and disappeared behind it. It took a while before Evie composed herself, a wide and feral grin on her face before she pushed off as well. Her final thoughts: this is gonna be fun. And she was gone towards the world of Hogwarts.

TRIVIA
- She can remember a lot of things, even stuffs from back when she was a baby.
- Has a pet rock called Shiny.
- Is clueless on Hogwarts, but is greatly interested in magic as she arrives.
- Packed all the lacey and frilly clothings her mother gave her, and a pair of plain shirt and jeans as well. Secretly, of course.
- Has a knack in flying and transfiguration, and of course others as well what being a "genius". But those two are her favourite subjects.
- Doesn't put in much effort in the other subjects beside those two, but she still does good.
- Professor Isobel Whits was the person to invite her to Hogwarts, making her the first wizard Evie has ever talked to.
- Has a good relationship with Professor Whits after that, but she still doesn't really pay much attention to her during the Dark Arts class, causing Professor Whits and Evie to have miny arguments in class which amuses everyone.
- But Professor Whits can't really say anything because Evie actually does well in class. Sigh.
- Despite being good at well, everything, Evie is quite literally bad at Potions. Not because she doesn't know how to do it, but because she find the usual spells boring and would rather experiment other stuffs. This gets her an almost failing grade here.
- The infamous "Jones." of Professor Snape starts here. Heh.
- Wants to make many many friends, but everyone always avoids her. I wonder why? c:
Those who shape me:

FAMILY

Mother - Mavis Odell Jones - 38 - Muggle - Housewife - Cold, stubborn, pompous little - Evie and Mavis had little to no interaction because of Mavis' disappointment in her daughter's behaviour. She is and will always be against Evie's acceptance into Hogwarts, but she took that opportunity by threatening her to not let her go if she does not change the way she speaks and dress. Evie does not mind that her mother dislikes her, but sometimes she wishes Mavis would understand her for a change.

Father - Wilferd Mateo Jones - 40 - Muggle - Businessman - Openminded, optimistic, definitely Evie's favourite parent - Evie and Wilferd were always close to one another. Evie, being a little bit to the wild side, bonded with Wilferd by playing ball, stargazing, rolling in the mud and such. Things her mother Mavis would certainly not like. Wilferd dotted on his daughter both like a girl and a boy. So when Evie got her letter to Hogwarts, and although Wilferd was sad to see her go, he allowed her knowing that Evie deserves to explore more and would not stay still in their city.
FRIENDS

Aquintances - Myrtle Warren - 14 - Muggleborn - Ghost - When Evie first came to Hogwarts, she was in dire need of the bathroom. So she ditched the group she was in and went looking for one, ending up in the first floor's girl's bathroom. There, she met Myrtle, or Myrtle as everyone calls her. Evie, being the curious little thing she is, had stared at Myrtle with a hint of curiousity and nervousness in her eyes. Myrtle had found her interesting, knowing that she was a Muggleborn yet was not afraid of seeing a ghost for the first time. "I permit you to use this bathroom, if you must." Myrtle had said dismissingly before fading away. Since then, Evie had gone there once in a while to meet her first, if not only friend.
OTHERS

Love Hate - Walter Crowell - Wizard & Flying Coach - Out of all the subjects, Evie found flying lessons to be the most thrilling. Everyone else seems to avoid her everytime she holds her broom, and any thing at all actually, except for the professors and a selected few of her peers. But Coach Crowell especially pays much attention to her. Every moment that he could get would be pointed towards Evie, looking at her and sending her pointed looks ever so often in the event of her making another mistake like the exploding broom accident (look at personality section). If only she wasn't so damn good at flying, he would have kicked her out of his class immediately.

(idk if you can sense the innocence and purity in this, cause i'm writing it in Evie's pov. like she's clueless that crowell is actually really infuriated with her carefree and dense personality haha.)
A new adventure:

ARE YOU EXCITED ABOUT GOING TO HOGWARTS?
"Hmm, I suppose so. What's so good about this Hogwarts actually? Profressor Whits didn't really explain much when she came to give me my letter, and well my parents don't know much...oh! Will there be flying dragons and all?" Evie exclaimed excitedly.

WHICH HOUSE DO YOU WANT TO GET INTO? "House? What do you mean? Aren't we all staying at the dormitories?"

IS THERE A HOUSE YOU DON'T WANT TO BE IN?
"......"

"...look! Look! A butterfly!..."

WHICH CLASS ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO?
"Anything fun is good for me. Oh I know! I want a class with lots and lots of people! I get lonely sometimes, you know? For some reason, people don't like to talk to me." Evie said.

"I wonder why actually, could it be because -OOOHH What's this? Is this a-"

BOOOOOOMMMM! crash.

WILL YOU BE TRYING OUT FOR QUIDDITCH? "Honestly! Isn't there a guide book somewhere here for me to read up on all these quid-whatcha-call-it thingys?"

ARE YOU BRINGING A PET?
"I CAN BRING A PET? Why didn't you tell me! I could have brought Shiny! Ooohh you don't know how cute he is, with his smooth and shiny skin...did I mention Shiny's a stone?"

ANY THOUGHTS ON HE-WHO-MUST-NOT-BE-NAMED OR HIS FOLLOWERS?
"He-who-must what now? His followers? Is he like some kind of bully or something?...well if he is, I don't like him! Bullies ."

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU'D LIKE TO ADD? "I'm hungry. When's lunch? Can I leave now?"
Any last words:

COMMENTS: Hope you liked Evie! It's been a while since I've applied for an applyfic so my application may have some mistakes hehe. I don't know how you'll be protraying the Professors here, so I just wrote them following my own imagination, especially Professor Isobel Whits since she's an OC haha. Fingers crossed you'll like Evie? c:
SUGGESTIONS: - none at the moment. -
PASSWORD: Obviously Gryffindor, but I have a feeling most people would want to be there. So I don't know, maybe Ravenclaw? Or you can be totally unexpected and put Evie at Slytherin HAHAHA. Or Hufflepuff idk heh.
