Background 

She grew up in Seoul, South Korea. Her father is an English Professor at Yonsei University, while her mother taught Art at the University. She picked up English from her parents who often spoke it at home in order for her to gain a second language. When she was 11, her family moved to Los Angeles after her father recieved a teaching position  at UCLA. She lived there for about 7 years until she graduated high school. She was very athletic, she played volleyball, softball and did track and field. She was considered the Ace of her track and field team because she held the highest women's record in the 400 meter dash in her school history. 

When she wasn't in school and playing sports, she spent a lot of her time taking hip hop classes at Millenium dance complex. She had always been a natural dancer growing up and it wasn't until she started high school that she started going to dance classes to improve her technique and pick up new choreography. She was only average when it came to academics, but when it came to sports and dance, it was something she excelled in and things she loved to do.

Early 2012, her dance studio held a free dance showcase in the streets of Hollywood. She was featured in three different sets, the group dance, the all girl routine and a special duet. A Cube representative had watched the entire performance and thought that her style, charisma and talent had stood out. He invited her to audition for the company's global auditions. She attended with the support of her friends and family and she passed!

Although being a kpop idol was not on her bucket list, she thought long and hard about her life goals and what she wanted to do after graduation. In a few months, she was going to graduate high school and because she didn't apply to university, she was only planning on going to community college and then find whatever job would accept her. She wasn't good at anything but sports and dance, and she just sat in her room picturing herself 5 years from then. "I don't want to live my life in regret. I don't want to wake up one day and realize that I'm just working a routine desk job that I absolutely hate. I want to do somehting I actually love. I want to do something that actually makes me happy. I want to do this"

a few weeks later, she set off for Seoul and began her training career. 

Family 

• Jeon Jung Kook | 54 | Father | Alive | English Professor at UCLA | He preferred her to go to college and stay close to the family, but he wasn't exactly against her decision to become a trainee. He was happy that she found something she is passionate about and is good at | she and her father have a decent relationship. They don't talk as much as Suah and her mother, but they do talk. He tells her to focus on her dream and to not date. Because her parents are from Seoul, they have family in the city and get to visit Suah during winter, summer and sometimes spring breaks.
• Jeon Su Hyun | 53 | Mother | Alive | An art teacher at a local high school | She is supportive and likes that Suah is pursuing something she likes. She thinks that education is important and would have prefered her to stay in the states, but after having a long talk with Suah, she realized that Suah is an adult and is old enough to make decisions on her own | they are close and talk very often. She always talks about how leaving her parents was the hardest decision she ever had to make, but she needs to grow as an individual person and think about her own happiness and her future first sometimes.

 

THE FACE BEHIND THE MASK

Personality Traits: 

Appreciative: Suah is very appreciative and likes to display her gratitude for others. If people help her, she'll say thank you not just by words but by actions like buying them lunch or doing something nice for them. If someone buys her food, she will make it her duty to also buy them food sometime in the future. She will relay her gratitude and is very thankful to everyone who has helped her. She is most likely the member that will start crying when the group win things because she is so grateful to her fans and company

Prankster: She likes playing pranks on her friends and fellow members. She likes hiding behind doors/walls/corners and jumping out to scare them. When she is driving and everyone else is sleeping, she likes to randomly scream and scare everyone to wake up. She can also cry on the spot, so when she is bored, she sometimes pretends to cry and all the members worry while she is internally snickering to herself. 

Meddler: She likes to meddle into the lives of her friends. She likes to think that people need her help even if they do not ask. It can be annoying at times, but she relly means well. Gikwang once told her that he thought one of the members was cute, and she tried setting the two on a date which ended up being terribly awkward because he wasn't really interested. She is also the worst wingwoman in the history of wingwoman, but she likes to think she's good. She tries to put in a good word for her friends around people they like but she ends up talking too much and then saying something wierd and coming off too strong.

Talkative: Suah likes to talk, ALOT. It is a good quality to have because she talks comfortably and always has something to say. Around her, there is no such thing as awkward silences, but it can be a bad quality because even at night before she goes to sleep, she likes to talk about random things to her roommate. She is also the type to talk while watching shows or movies. She likes making comments or asking questions about illogical choices characters make.

Impatient: She hates waiting and one of her biggest pet peeves are people who are late. She is the type person that will complain and send 1000 messages to someone if they are not on time. "By all means, move at a glacial pace" "I'm going to die of old age by the time you get here" "Are you crawling here?" She also gets irritated when she is ready to leave, but the other members are still running around trying to get ready.

LOVE INTEREST

Name: Yook Sung Jae
Group: BTOB 
Personality: He is funny and charismatic. He likes being taken care of and has a lot of aeygo. He is optimistic and smiles a lot. when he is upset or in a badmood, it is easy to see. He is also the kind of person that doesn't like to admit when he is wrong.

How they met: Su Ah entered the agency around the time BTOB debuted. One day, Suah was practicing late in the dance room and Sungjae saw her. It was really late and he noticed how hard she was working. He wanted to be a good sunbae and bring her some water but because there was no bottles, he bought her a cup of water. WHen he was about to walk into the room, he saw her take off her shirt, most iikely because it was hot, revealing her in shorts and a sprots bra and got flustered. He dropped the water down his clothes and to the floor. She heard a noise and turned. She saw Sungjae who looked like he had just wet himself standing by the door. 

He made eye contact with Suah and he was hooked. Her smile radiated and the way she ran her fingers through her hair was y yet very cute and innocent. She obviously knew who Sungjae was so she greeted him as a sunbae, but when he learned that she was older, he greeted her as a noona.  

Interactions: They are not particular close but they are nice and friendly to each other. He calls her noona and she calls him sunbae. He is usually very funny and charming, but he gets shy and flustered around Suah. During interviews, Suah likes to mention that Sungjae was her first friend in cube and that hes the Cube artists she would like to get closer to. She also thinks Sungjae is the funniest member of BTOB and says he stands out the most during performance. 

The members like to tease Sungjae about Suah. His ears get red whenever they bring her up and he blushes a lot even with the mention of her name. Suah tells him to talk to her comfortably but he is very formal with her. She once noticed how different Sungjae acts around other girls and her. He is very lively and has a lot of aeygo, but with her, he is quiet and slightly awkward. She once asked him if he hates her and she started crying which got him flustered. He reassured her that he doesn't hate her and said that she's his favorite noona. she ended up laughing and said that she was only joking. She hoped that after, they would be more comfortable. 

 

BACK-UP LOVE INTEREST

Name: Lee Gikwang
Group: Beast
Personality: Fun, charming, dorky 
How they met: They are labelmates. Naturally became friends because Gikwang initiated conversations with her.
Interactions: They are extremely close. She considers Gikwang her cloest friend outside of her members and she likes to prank him the most. She considers him a good oppa, someone that takes care of her well and listens to her talk. Lots of people get annoyed at her because she talks to much, but Gikwang likes to hear her talk because she lights up and smiles a lot. They go on morning runs together and like to compete on who is faster.

Gikwang often mentions that he is charming and takes pride in his appearance. Suah likes to and say that his abs are the only thing charming about him.

Suah is very Westernized and so she is comfortable with skinship with her close guy friends. She doesn't think it is a big deal to link arms, hug, hold or lean on them. Lots of people think that they have feelings for each other, and although he may, Suah has never had the chance to even think about her feeling for him. She makes her friendship known to the public with Gikwang but assures that they are only friends, like family.
