HYYH on stage – Korea concerts

Hey everyone!! The reason I haven’t updated anything in what feels like a million years is because I went to Korea last week for the HYYH concerts! Actually, I lie, it’s already more than a week ago. Where has time gone?!?

It was amazing. I had tickets for all 3 days and I managed to get pretty good spots for nearly all of them. But this review might be a little all over the place because all 3 concerts are kind of all jumbled in my head… sorry about that.

Ok well the first thing that I have to say is that, amazingly, for the first two days, I managed to get front row. I couldn’t believe my luck. I had standing tickets for all 3 days – pit B for the first and last day and A for the second day. When you’re standing, in Korea, they let you in by ticket number. My ticket number for the first day wasn’t very good… it was number 800. When I walked into the standing area, I noticed that everyone was crowded around the center front and the area along the extended stage, but that there was about half of the front rail that was completely deserted. It was on the left side of the stage and I could see that there was an extended platform that continued under the screen but I couldn’t be sure if they would come on there to perform, and I guess others thought they wouldn’t, but I took a chance that they would and headed there… and it paid off!! They came there quite a few times, and Jungkook even sang an entire song RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY FACE. The second day, I think word had gotten around because the first row filled up really quickly all the way to the end. But on the second day my number was 455, so I could get in a lot earlier and managed to snag the exact same spot, but on the opposite side. That time it was Tae who sang right in front of me <3 and man, is that child beautiful… on the third day, my ticket number was in the 1000’s, so I knew it was pointless to try and fight for a spot, so I stayed at the back, near the end of the extended stage and the platform that raised up for them to wave at people in the seated section. But all in all, I had a good experience every single day, and got member eye-contact every day too <3

Ok so the concert opened with a short VCR or all the members being playful, and posing for a group picture in front of an old fashioned camera, and an old man saying “ok, ready…” and there was a big flash. Then, House of Cards started playing (of course we didn’t know it was the title since the album hadn’t come out yet… it just sounded like this cool dramatic song) and Taehyung appeared alone on the stage in a black hoodie, and started climbing up this big contraption on the right side of the stage, and when he got to the top, the lights went out and then when they turned back on, all of them were standing in a line on an elevated platform and sang Hold Me Tight. Towards the 2/3 of the song the platform lowered and they moved to the center of the stage.

After that they walked up to mics that had been set up all along the very front of the stage, and that’s when Jungkook came in front of me. Jin was a few paces away, quite near too. They sang Let Me Know and I just kinda stood there mesmerized by how close he was. I tried to peek a few glances at Hobi when he sang, but he was too far, so I couldn’t see well. And how to not stare at Jungkook when he’s standing right there like a meter away?? Oh my… and mostly I was staring at… his pants… damn his stupid pants omg… actually, I’m pretty sure it’s the same pants he’s wearing for the Run promos now lol… they’re black and kinda shiny, not-quite-leather, and they’re TIGHT. Child, you and them tight pants need to stay the heck away from me. I remember thinking his hair looked so shiny and soft too. And he sang really passionately and prettily. Wow. No wonder he has so many fans…

The second day, like I said before, I was in the same spot on the opposite side and V was singing Let Me know right in front of me, and Jimin a few paces away. And while I had looked at the other members while in front of Kookie, I looked almost exclusively at V while he was there, cuz wow. That kid has been sculpted from the perfect mold, he looks amazingly beautiful from up-close. Like really. And he was wearing this awful sparkling gold jacket lol and he was still the most beautiful angel out there.

After that the staff removed the mics and they did Danger, which was really cool, cuz it’s one of my fave songs. The only disadvantage to my position on the extreme left side was that sometimes I couldn’t see all the members well when they were on the center stage. But I guess it was a small price to pay. After Danger there was a talking ment and I cried a bit cuz Hobi was way at the other end T_T it also cuz it was all in Korean and I couldn’t understand any of it… the only thing I remember is when they were introducing themselves, when it was Suga’s turn, he would just cup his hand to his ear, indicating that we should scream before he said his name, and then he would like turn his hand around, like we needed to scream louder and would wait for a bit with a cocky look on his face before announcing “I’m Suga”. XD cocky lil … I love him <3

After that they did No More Dream and N.O. Jimin barely flashed his tummy the first day (tease) and then the next two days he didn’t even lift his shirt at all. I guess he said he wasn’t gonna do it anymore now that his abs are gone… ah well… during N.O they didn’t do the choreo but rather just bounced around the extended stage and Jimin came over to our side a lot. So did Kookie and Jin. The others did too but just kinda whizzed by really fast. I had a hand-made sign for J-Hope and kept waving it around when he came, but, I think I’ve mentioned it before, Hobi tends to look over the crowd’s heads when he performs, so he never looked at me, and I was a bit sad. 

During the second day, when I was on the other side, Rapmon, Suga and V came over the most, and Jimin too. Suga was sooooo beautiful!!! His mint hair is amazing, but he is actually really gorgeous upclose. I was like “wow.” And he kept looking over!! (on the 2^nd day) even later, when they were doing another dance on the center stage (I forget which song) he kept looking over here and smirking and throwing little hearts with his fingers lol. Like why even?! Lol. It was a really weird angle for him to be looking at, but he kept looking over. Lol.

After that they left the stage and some VCRs of the boys’ “most beautiful moments” played. They all had like a little solo story clip. First it was Jungkook, sitting in a cafeteria with his friend and staring at a girl he likes, also sitting with her friend, a few tables away. JK’s friend (we assume) tells him to go talk to her and Kookie shakes his hands like “no!no!” and is adorably embarrassed and then the girl’s friend notices that he’s staring at her and tells her and Kookie starts pretending he was looking at the ceiling and the whole audience squealed at the cuteness. After that it was a little movie of Rapmon walking into a really old bookstore and looking around smiling all happily and reading books. After that it was a VCR of Suga playing basketball and being swag. Every single day, the crowd screamed the loudest at Suga’s part. ^_- after that it was a video of Jin wandering around a small town taking photos with a camera.

After that Jin, J-Hope and Rapmon came back on stage and went to the center part of the extended stage to do a short version of Converse High, and then the other 4 came out and sang 24/7=heaven. After that they all sang Miss Right and kept kissing their thumb and sending kisses to ARMY on the “chego” part in the chorus. It a bit when they were on the center catwalk because, being at the front, I had to crane my neck to look around and see what was going on. Or I’d look at the screen. After that there was another talking bit, then they sang Move, which was cool to hear live for the first time. Oh and, at the end of that song, you know when Rapmon goes “everyone’s afraid of changes… staying, moving on…” well he was saying other stuff instead. In English too, and along the same lines, but he said something different each day. It was cute.

After that they left and they played a VCR of the Run MV hightlights (actually, it’s the bit that plays at the end of the actual MV now, when Butterfly is playing). Then they came back on the main stage and performed Run. It was amazing to see it there for the first time they were all wearing leather jackets like in the current promos, except that Tae had this amazing studded Misfits jacket that looked really cool and I really wonder why he doesn’t wear it now?? Anyways, the crowd SCREAMED when they did the “jacket undressing move” like omg, we all went nuts. And I found myself staring at Jungkook’s tighs more than once… please don’t judge me…. T_T It’s a really great live song. To be honest, it looks much better live than seeing it on tv.

The set list I’m looking at says that the rest of the “happy moments” VCRs were next, but that doesn’t really seem right to me? But anyways, let’s say it was then. The first was of Jimin singing at norebang with some friends, and the second was of J-Hope sitting out in the sunshine near the bridge where he fainted in INU MV (meaning???) and listing to music in his headphones, and finally, the last one was of V happily drawing a picture of a boy and girl holding hands.

After that they came out and did Butterfly and Tomorrow… damn Tomorrow is good live… it’s not really one of my favorite songs but live it’s amazing. And them body rolls, kekeke… Butterfly was beautiful too, of course. After that they talked again, and I have no clue what they said. Then they did Hip-Hop Lover, walking to the center of the extended stage and hyping the crowd, and followed with 2 Years, where they ran around all over the place, even around the seated area. They had a video camera at that time and they passed it around between the members, filming themselves and the crowd with a selfie-stick. Oh and on the second day, during that song, Jungkook and Tae did their little special handshake RIGHT in front of me and I died cuz it was the ing cutest thing.

Then they did Heuntan Sonyeondan and Dope and talked some more… Tae’s special move during Heuntan on the 3^rd day was like this really slow body roll, and omg, I think all ARMYs died. Then, and this was really cool… they did the intro to School Luv Affair (Rapmon’s part) and it was SO cool. And they had the crowd repeat the “Bangtan style! Bangtan style” part. XP after that they did War of Hormones and Boy in Luv and left. Everyone started chanting “Encore! Encore!” and I was SO sure Suga was gonna come out and do Nevermind, but instead we got another VCR. Can’t seem to remember what it was though. Oh yeah, it was Rapmon answering some questions about his dreams from when he was young. Each day, they played a different member (even in the Japan shows.) the second day it was V and the 3^rd Jimin I think? Honestly I don’t remember, I’m sorry… in Yokohama they played Hoseok’s and Jin, so I guess in Kobe they will do Suga and Kookie.

THEN Suga came out alone and did Nevermind, and I got ing CHILLS every single time. Suga is like, the coolest being ever when he’s on stage, it’s indescribable. The 3^rd night I almost started crying during his performance. He really makes you feel something. Then the other boys came out and performed Ma City and there was this big prop stage thing in the back that said “Daegu” and “Ilsang” and all the places they’re from, and they were just bouncing around everywhere acting hyper and it was awesome. I jumped like a crazy person every night. And I’m NOT a jumper at concerts lol, but that song is so hyped up, I was doing it without even realizing it XP I think it was probably my fave performance of the whole show.

After that they introduced the band, because oh yeah, I forgot to say, they had a live band playing all the songs and it made a huge difference! Everything sounded SO much better! And after they walked to the center platform for one last (long) talking bit. During the second day, Hobi cried cuz his family was there and my hearrrrrteeeeeuuuuuu!!!!! The camera even showed his family on the screen. And V’s family was there too and he was like “where are you?” and the camera showed them too, and Park Bogum was there as well and V was surprised and was like “Hyung, why are you there?!” XD . On the third day, it was Jin’s turn to cry cuz his family was there, and for some reason, my heart broke even more than when Hobi did. And then after, Rapmon did a long- speech on the meaning of HYYH, of which I understood nothing and felt like it was really dragging cuz I’d had about 7 hours of sleep in the last 3 days and my feet were killing me. But too soon it was over and they were doing I Need U, and we all know that’s the last song so it was sad. After the song, I Need U BGM kept playing and they walked all over the stage waving goodbye to the fans. They went on the elevator platforms in pairs and waved at the seated crowd too. On the third day, before going on the platform, I was trying to catch Hobi’s eye with my fan and instead, it was Jungkookie who looked at me and smiled. That child! I swear!! Everywhere I went he was always there, every single night! It’s like the kid is trolling for my heart, while Hobi keeps avoiding me, lol. But actually, I did manage to catch Hobi’s eye once.

It was right at the end of the first day. When they were saying goodbye after I Need U, they all came back towards the main stage and I was like, “Plz come here! Plz come here!!” but they didn’t. Well Hobi didn’t. but then just before going back in, he looked over in our direction and waved, and I was waving my sign like crazy, and he saw it cuz his eyes lit up and got bigger, and then he smiled at me and I was like YES THANK YOU UNIVERSE I CAN DIE NOW IT’S OK!!!!!!!! Omg I was so happy.

Tae stayed on the stage last and then House of Cards started playing again and he climbed up the thingie again while everyone in the crowd was shouting “No! Don’t” and when he got to the top he was panting and the lights went black. Then the screen started playing a VCR that was a continuation of the intro one. After the flash of the camera went off, you see all the members playing together happily as they exit the room. Except Jin. Then the old man takes the picture and hangs it on the wall and…… there is only Jin in the frame!!! Ooooh, chills!!! After that, there was another VCR of cute moments, playing I Need U again, and everyone stayed doing the fanchants to INU, really loud. Then Dope lol.

Then we were all ushered out.

On the 3^rd day, my friends and I decided to wait outside to watch them leave and we did manage to see them and take a video, but I just had my iphone so it’s really tiny and ty quality lol. But wow, it was so amazing.

I also had a great time meeting up with people from all different countries that I’d met from twitter, buy lots of goods, meet fansites and take stupid pictures with the rice wreaths… and freeze to death cuz it was like -2C the whole time. But it was so fun, I can’t wait to do it again!!
