background: 

juhyun was the pride of the family since young. she took part in numerous singing competitions and got first or second. not only is she good at singing, she's remarkable for her dancing as well. her family supported her in her musical insterest. knowing that she was a musically inclined child, not letting her do something related to music would be a shame for her. juhyun realised her dream at the age of 8. when juhyun was in elementary school, she did well in studies and continued to study until she was 11.
then, her parents noticed juhyun and her brother's love for kpop and decided to return to her father's homeland. then, she studied in seoul and soon graduated from modern k academy. during her high school days, she also became an ulzzang under the name of jieying.

as she grew up, her parents decided to enrol her in violin playing lessons and she started liking classical music but soon she heard about kpop and became more interested in kpop than classical music. her parents were more supportive than other parents.juhyun and her brother were both interested in kpop, hence, it made her parents more positive about moving to south korea.

juhyun was scouted by sm. juhyun was at a seoul kpop idol competition where citizens would sign up and perform like a real kpop idol would. juhyun joined the competition, singing and dancing to miss a's bad girl good girl and received 2nd place. then after the compeition was over, a sm worker approached her to ask her if she minded becoming a trainee at sm which juhyun agreed.

she went to seoul arts high school

she studied at modern k academy, juggling both studies and her training at jyp.

juhyun picks up choreographies and lyrics very quickly. juhyun has been praised by trainers for this particular strong point of her. juhyun also speaks well and aspires to be an emcee, she possess a strong leadership quality in her and she believes in herself and knows what she can do and what she can't. juhyun doesn't mind sacrificing anything for her members or family. there was once when she ran in the rain to fetch her younger brother from school so that he wouldn't be worried.
juhyun tends to make a lot of noise, which might be why juhyun cannot ever be the leader. she is also childish which is definitely not leader material. she likes to play with kiddy stuff at the mall regardless of the attention given. juhyun is also pretty clumsy, she has a lot of scars spead out evenly around her body because she tends to trip over her shoelaces or invisible traps or even walk into a pole while using her phone. juhyun understands jokes about a minute or so after, she can follow along and laugh but will laugh out loud a minute later when she gets the joke.

they met through lay. even after juhyun leaving sm entertainment, they kept close contact and also introduced juhyun to the exo members. when baekhyun first met juhyun, he found her really cute and exchanged numbers under the guise of being friends. juhyun didn't always like baekhyun. baekhyun started to share more about himself and soon, both of them knew each other better and baekhyun asked her to be his girlfriend after 7 months of being 'friends'.
