background: Despite being half japanese, she was born in south korea as her parents had then moved over to korea to live. Her interest for singing was gained from her mother singing different songs at night for her to sleep. She was one of the more popular girls in class that wasn't the most popular but just one of the more fun and bright girls that guys found fun to hang around with. Yooyoung was one of the easier people to start conversations with which helped her get a good impression from others. She went to dance classes and had extra singing lessons outside of middle school when she turned 14 and she auditioned for SM Entertainment when she turned 15 and trained in SM Entertainment till the age of 17 and changed to Woollim Entertainment then.

love story: it is a very simple love story that is sweet and short. He was introduced to Yooyoung through Junmyun and the two started off as awkward friends who had those silences where they didn't say anything but soon, the two became close friends. Yooyoung started liking him when he started to be more comfortable around her and started doing skinship with him. Yooyoung and Jongin got close to each other and started dating right before sherbet's debut.

as time passes: Jongin can't stand how Yooyoung acts so nonchalant around anti fans and asks her to be open with him but she says she's fine. Once in a blue moon, Jongin gets angry as he thinks that she can't handle the hate but Yooyoung can. They get together again when Junmyun can't handle Yooyoung crying over the relationship but not even about the hate.
