#2 Is Art Educational?

It's the end of the year, and today my school held an award ceremony for the students. I got two awards for Music and Visual Arts. However, my dad thinks that those two subjects aren't 'educational' at all. I too, have been beginning to think, are they?

So I did a bit of research. Art holds the ability to express emotions and meaning without the use of words. To become good at art, it also needs lots of practice. But even so, people don't value  art as much as science. So I'm pretty disappointed that I wasn't able to get a better award. But I dunno what to think. IS art and educational subject?

What do YOU think?

In my opinion, math and science are for the functioning of society while the arts are for the mind and soul of a human being within that society. They're all important.

Of course they are. They may not fit the conventional definition, but they promote creativity, spatial awareness, problem-solving - all important skills.

Have you ever watched a kid's show? Art and music are very important for kids to start learning. If art and music were not important, if nobody was good at it our world would be gray and noisy, those two subjects are out escape rope. When you want to relax don't you listen to music? Be proud of your talents because music is basically math and patterns in disguise. Art is also math in disguise for the proportion and compositions.

Congratulations ^-^
Being the best in Art and Music - two subjects that I was never good at (that I only got good grades through quizzes and written exams haha) - is something you should be proud of ^0^ Creativity is a gift. Teachers may show us the technique but improvement lies on our hard work and our natural ability (that skill we're born with). It's unlike Math and Science, in that, Art and Music is not only evaluated based on how the concepts are applied but on how you expressed it as an individual. Evaluation is subjective than objective but it never less than the other subjects.

Wow. Congrats :) Well done. For me I think art is educational. Everything around us hold its own purposed.
