is this even socially acceptable in the fanfic world

this was just a question and I have no idea whether people actually do these or not... sorry if I sound really ignorant or anything?

do people on here (or in any fic writing community in general) ever have others write for them?  it's not quite a writing contest... well actually I'm not really sure O.o

it's more like: I have prompts that I want someone else to write about because I don't have the free time to do it myself (I would do it myself preferably, but at the same time, I really want to read a fic about it ._. and I don't have time), and I pay karma points to whoever's fic I personally like the best...

Yeah. The shop I co-author at does that and I'm actually the one who writes them hehe. Also, there are contest about them too.

Yeah, people have request shops. I think it should be possible for you to find someone that'll write your story. ^^

I've stumbled upon these requests shops who do it, I also have a really good friend on here who takes requests and write the story for another person

It works. I had a friend on my oldest / first account on AFF and I took the prompt and promised I'd finish the story but, I'm still not finished with it yet OTL ( it's a series too)

I think a lot of contests are like this, tbh.

I have encountered various scenario shops. More likely a oneshot or a drabble would be made if you send in a prompt but I'm not sure if people write chaptered fics. But this is totally normal.

Yes I think people do that on fan fic sites. I had a few people request me to write fics about different things. I don't have time for that though. Are you looking for someone to write a story for you??

if you're talking about on a more personal level, I've had someone ask me to write a birthday fic for them. So I'd write in that person as their own character in an exo oneshot C: I think certain authors would be happy to write for you, as long as you give them enough freedom to do so ~

I don't think there's anything unacceptable about it. There are plenty of people in the world with ideas who simply don't have the means (whether it be in skill or time) to put them into motion. There's nothing wrong with requesting someone take on your prompt, and even better, I think the idea of holding a contest is a great idea!

Prompted by me. Although purplecheeze asked for prompts, so I gave one to her.
