• yeo 'andriana' shinae is the girl you get a temporary crush on when she walks past you on the street or sits at the table next to yours in a café. with a confident and alluring aura that lingers around her, the click of her heels and the swinging of her hair garner attention wherever she goes. the girl whose drinks are all free when she's at a bar since everyone's paying for her, shinae is the walking definition of a feminist: genuinely believing in gender equality ( and not the type to tell everyone her views on that topic ) and is able able to take care of herself without the help of other people. not yout typical headstrong woman who yearns for someone to cuddle, shinae really is just who she appears to be: the sarcastic, independent woman who will make a name for herself some day, and she won't need a man.

• the grand-daughter of yeo taehwan, the founder of jeolgeoum group, shinae started from the top. jeolgeoum mainly produced industry, chemical, shipping, insurance and financial products. it wasn't the richest company, but in short, shinae is a chaebol. her family wasn't necessarily mean to their daughter, but it was obvious that they favoured their son more than her, but shinae was still treated perfectly well, unlike the scenarios frequently shown in dramas. while her father tended to her brother and groomed him into the heir he would be, shinae and her mother got very close and since young she'd learn that the world of business is dark and that she should work hard to succeed by herself, and told her to not rely on their family's company. and because of her mother's words, shinae was a top student at school, and again going against stereotypes, did not go around with her nose in the air and bully people.

→you might expect sungjoon and shinae to be incredibly awkward with each other because of their family background and the fact that shinae was borderline outcasted ( as in treated well but pretty much never really included in the family ), but no, the two get along very well. in fact, they've went from hair-pulling, arm-biting playmates to a pair of ( seemingly ) sophisticated and dignified pair of siblings who garner the jealous stares of everyone else when they attend formal dinners or galas together. in reality, sungjoon is your typical playboy- times a hundred. with flirtatious words and lots of money to spend on his numerous girlfrieds, he seems like the annoying chaebol people would all hate. but sungjoon is able to know when to goof around and when to not, and is actually a pretty good asset to the company. shinae and sungjoon bicker a lot in private, and she often kicks between his legs.
