wow, aff. long time no see!

I know that I haven’t been very active in a while. That’s mostly because of the college workload, but it’s also because I’ve been busy with my community’s “Light the Night” walk to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. As some of you may know, this is a cause that’s very close to my heart as my grandmother recently passed away from lymphoma this past April. Not only was she the one who raised me, but she was also my best friend and the one who would always pick me up when I was down.

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society collects money to fund cancer research and to support victims of the disease. I can totally understand that donating money to charities can make people apprehensive since it’s not always clear where the money is going to. Here’s a link to an unaffiliated website that breaks down the organization’s spending.

Even if you’re not necessarily interested in donating money, the LLS website has some great volunteer opportunities for supporting those affected by leukemia and lymphoma.
