Someone enlighten me on this side of the fanfiction world, as it leaves me genuinely idek

Okay, so I thought it was mostly an EXO thing only, but now all of the alpha/omega/beta/gamma (lmao, jk) genre (is it safe to call it a genre?) of fanfiction has drifted over to the BTS community. I'm seeing it a lot with Bangtan fans now. The whole wolf universe seems to be getting REALLY popular. I literally see it on every page of M fics I search through. I get curious, and I've clicked on a few, just to see wtf is going on with those types of stories.

I'm confused.

It's one thing reading straight , which I never do, but it's a whole other game with boyxboy pairings, , whatever you wanna call it. Especially when you add all of these wolf/dog traits to it. Everything I've peaked at is always about an omega in heat or something.

I have so many questions.

Can male wolves even go into heat? Isn't that a female dog thing? Wtf is knotting? I'm sorry, but it visually sounds gross. I know what the other two are, but what is a beta? How is it different from an omega? Are these guys technically werewolves? Is their getting wet when they're or in heat actually a thing that happens with real wolves, or is it just crap people come up with like with how Stephanie Meyer decided to make vampires sparkle for some reason?

I'm intrigued, but also weirded out.

Also, now that I think about it, fellow readers of mine in particular, do you just read girlxgirl ? Do you read straight ? Genderbenders? Boyxboy? All of the above? Honestly, I just simply can't and won't with genderbenders. Straight , no. Boyxboy, nope. None of that does it for me.

I read straight taeny (rarely yulsic or other snsd pairings if and only if the story is so good the chemistry's like taeny) only if it is of good quality. Grammar and plot wise. So yeah, Ive read before, it was shinee. It was a good story when i was new in aff, but eventually lost interest in it when TaeNy came and ruined my innocence LOL XD I haz no idea bout that wolf thing but i do notice the EXO and BTS trends. Ughhh~ (where's my taeny!) Funny , this is so timely. I just read about knotting last night! Idk too what it was so i googled it(incognito, coz it sounds fishy) and im right. Bwahahaha! It was taeny so i tried to read it. It was my first time reading that kind of story. Although it's weird as , 'twas fine. Something new. Not poorly written too. So...yeah.

As far as I know, I thought going into heat was a female thing. Knotting is some dog that I'm not familiar with and probably not going to google for an entire lifetime. And no, their asses don't get wet. That's just nasty. To be honest, people adding these wolf slash dog traits into is just gross and a major turn off.

Thank god I NEVER read . I only read straight and yuri , but the straight ones are usually badly written and rough and anatomically incorrect so they're turn-offs. Yuri is mostly better written on aff.

I never understood the omega!verse, omg, I'm so happy I'm not alone, haha. I can't explain it for you because I don't read it. It's simply too weird. I can deal with hybrids and catboys but ... not the A/B/O universe..
I prefer reading boyxboy though and I read boyxboy as well. Normally I don't read for but because of the characters or the rest of the story. If I read PWP it's to find those small details that isn't plot and makes the story and the relationship a little deeper, lol. I dislike straight couples and I don't know any girlxgirl couple to actually feel connected to the story, or not. ^^

Okay for the whole wolf trend thing - I cannot give you any insight on that as I don't read it and I'm just as confused as you lol sorry xD
But the last question - I have read 1 or 2 genderbenders but they aren't always my cup of tea...they have to be really good or interesting for me to read them. But honestly I love and pretty much only read girlxgirl or no- - there are plenty of great girlxgirl fanfics on here :) As for why I like them the most - probs because all of my favorite groups are girl groups so basically what I ship is 99.99% girlxgirl haha xD but yeah..interesting question...I'm intrigued to know what your other readers read the most :)

You can thank the SPN fandom for this one since they popularized the kink trope and you can pretty much do anything with A/B/O since I've seen it done with het, , and yuri, so it's not just a thing. And as much as some may think A/B/O is just a /kink thing, it can easily be the opposite if you do some world building since you can easily go a route and explore things like gender identity/gender roles or it can even have a more political/societal spin to it. But you're less likely to find those types of fics in kpop than other fandoms, since more often than not, people are just using the kink side to it. I read girlxgirl and straight ... but i slightly prefer girlxgirl... it truly depends of how it's written.
