fun vs study kind of dilemma

these days i've been barely logging in and doing something. usually when i do have time to log in, it's just to check on updates and reply when i can.

i'm sorry bout that, i wasn't even able to post old fics. probably after this week i'd be able to return to my usual thing. it's just... my cousin, who i haven't seen for a long time, came for her vacation and since xmas break we've been in vacation-mode although school has started for us here in the Philippines. i'm just lucky that for the past two weeks i've been on half days so i was kinda able to still do what i need to do for lessons and hang out places :D

but now... it's like the festival week. a grand festival thing for us which is Sinulog, so people are more in the festivities mood rather than study mood. and this weekend is like the real deal already. normally we don't really go out coz people just walk during these days because roads will be closed, there'll be street dancing and practically, everyone just walk - that happens on the central part of the province though. still no public transportation and if you have a private car, the traffic is heavy so we don't want to be part of that 'chaos'

but since my cousin is here, we're making plans... since two years ago we started going to the procession (which is walking again, most probably this is when the walking starts) but now, idk the government practically blocked main roads so the traffic is heavier and we were stuck in traffic for 2 hours o.0!!! we weren't in time to join the procession... only at the last part, when the first half reached the church. so it was a mini-procession and a procession of our own ¬_¬. then we went to church. then welcomed the pilgrim image of the child Jesus (which is probably the english trans for sto. nino) then walked back to our car.

tomorrow... we'd be joining/watching the street dance. we have to wake up early and leave early so we could still park at the mall then start with the trek again. yeah~ roads will be closed. there'll be stalls (things and food), dancing by contingents, and floats of different people (even actors and actresses).

the problem now is... i have a test the following day! which is totally unfair!!! most schools would go on a 'rest day' after the festival but not me. i have a class, what's worse it's a quiz that feels like an exam. i haven't studied/ read much. and after much thinking i decided to spend half the day or just the morning with the family then leave first and find somewhere else to study. i'll just get myself a henna tattoo then go. (i'm not going home coz there'll be a fireworks thing in the mall where we plan to park)

and i'd be double sad if my cousin who studies in the same university as i am, but in a different course would say that they won't have any classes on monday. seriously, my cousin who came from abroad said they'd like have a despidida party or last hang out thing on that day, since she'll be leaving on tuesday. and i was like 'okay, have fun.' and she was 'after your class' good thing class would end a bit earlier than usual.
