2015: Summer Episode 1

Summer break means summer program for me. I go to an annual two weeks summer program that my school usually hold along with other schools in the district. We would be going to classes learning about science-y stuff like neurobiology, engineering, web developing, and so on. I've always had fun in this program because I get to live in one of the most prestigious universities in the world. Most of all I enjoy meeting other people from other programs. To me, it's social networking. The past two years, I've made friends from all over the world like in Russia, South Korea, China, France, Cyprus, and more. This year is my last year in this program. This year I am a rising senior so I want to make it better than the previous years.

Going to the program with people from my school with my school along with other schools in the district can cause some issues here and there.

1. Lets start off with how I got a roommate that my friend complains about. She was not pleasant according to the description that I was told. Apparently, she would fart in her sleep. She also went into the room when her roommate was changing and continued to do what she was doing. There were more but it's too much for me to handle. The thing that bothered me a little but a lot to most people was she would wake way too early before we go eat. We have breakfast at 8:30 but she would wake up at 5:00.

2. I lost the key to my room on the FIRST day into the program. I had to pay a $50 fee. The program coordinator was surprised because she said, "The most responsible student lost something." I didn't mind paying because I knew that it was my responsibility since I lost it.

3. I liked a guy from my tennis team named Joey (I call him JoJo the Clown). It was weird of me because I don't usually go for a guy younger than me. It was three days into the program when he met a girl from our program who was my age. Me and her became friends quickly. I saw that he was following her around. I thought nothing of it. But then they started to talk more. I would be playing ping pong or foosball and they would sill be talking for almost an hour straight in the corner. Of course, I was jealous to the point where I didn't eat dinner because he would usually sit with me. I left the table without saying a work. One thing for sure is I was not angry at either of them. I was upset with myself that I let my feelings overpowered me. My roommates and I were by the fireplace last night to talk. It turns out that the girl Joey liked has a boyfriend who is amazing (he is the valedictorian and is going to Yale University). She also said that she felt awkward that Joey keeps talking to her for so long. I told them that I like him and they were all shocked.

4. On the first day of the program, I saw this guy who instantly caught my eye. I didn't know his name then. I was playing Mafia with friends during free time when I first saw him. I knew that I had to get to know him better. The next day, I was playing foosball and I saw him and his friend from the other program playing Just Dance. They asked me to play but I preferred to sit and watch at the time. I was laughing and smiling at some dance moves. I glanced over his way and I could see him looking at me. My heart beat so fast that I forgot about everything and everyone at the moment. I didn't think of Joey or anyone else. It was him. I still remember what he was wearing that day. It was a bright blue T-shirt with white basketball short and purple vans. He asked me to play Forza Motorsport 5 on the Xbox. I pretended not to know how to play. Being a gamer addict, it was for me to tell him some tips. Before I could ask for his name, I had to run to my room because I was stay up over curfew. From then, I woke up early with my roommate just to see him in the morning before he leaves for his classes. I saw him on Wednesday night. He showed me his piano skills. Let me just say that he is a prodigy. He asked me to sing but I said that I can't. The girls were surrounding him asking him to play some songs. He played Century by Fall Out Boy. The girls were singing. I started to sing too and once he heard it he stopped playing. The girls were so confused of why he stopped playing. He looked at me and I didn't know what was going on. He pointed at me and said, "I knew it. I knew you were a singer." I laughed at his comment. I asked for his name. But in order not to be awkward, I asked for the name of people around him too. I smiled at him before I left to my room to make my curfew. The last that I was with him was on Thursday July 16, 2015. He was sitting in the buttery with his friends. I just came back from writing college essays with my class. When I entered the buttery, I took a notice of him right away. The brown hair, green eyed guy with an orange v neck tee, light navy blue shorts with the same purple Vans was sitting on a crowded couch. I headed to the air hockey table with my friends. I was playing until the puck got stuck inside the goal. I saw the guy from his program waiting to play left. My friends and I managed to get it out but they had to leave to go to the planetarium for the astronomy class. I was left alone so I asked the guy who wanted to play previously to play with me. He was agressive with the puck. Then the cutie came over to see. I gave him the paddle and they were both agressive to each other that the puck kept flying off the table every 10 seconds. The girls, of course, came to watch him play so I walked over to the foosball table where soe of my friends were and watched him. I knew that I wanted to get know him more and that was the last night I will see him because he was going to leave the next morning. I don't know what you would this kind of feelings. He was finally alone. I approached him but panicked and asked him to play ping pong with me. This was the first for me to play ping pong. Let me just say ping pong is much more difficult for me than tennis. He was going easy on me and his words were so encouraging when I kept hitting off the table or when I missed. My heart was beating faster the more I was with him. Then I saw a kid wanting to play, I decided to give the paddle to the kid. The cutie was dancing and playing at the same time. I was amazed of how talented he was although his dancing was a bit awkward. The next 40 minutes I was trying to find a way to get his number but there were so many people around that I constantly kept panicking. People from my program could see what I was trying to do and help out. It took me an hour until I got it. It was 9:59 PM when I got it. Aminute before curfew. I worked up the courage. When I got it, I went back to my friends by the vending machines and squeeled. Little did I know he was behind me. I was so embarassed and looked like my eyes were about to pop out of my head. To make it worse, I made my embarrassment more noticeable when I covered my face like the grudge and ran away but hit the wall a moment later.

I got the cutie's number and I will never forget him. Thank you Harry (or Harrison) G. for making me come out of my comfort shell. I will NEVER forget you.
