APPEARANCE » Harumi has an average height, petite body and chest-length hair. She appeared as a girl that never smiles at all, instead, her pouty expression is noticeable. She had a scar on her left wrist from a fishing accident, which she never hides despite of her innocent image. She had a soft, pale skin and she's always asked if she's sick or not. Her eyes were a bit big, and according to Harumi, when she looks at her reflection at the mirror, she always point out that she had big, weird eyes.
FASHION STYLE » Her style is a mix of boyish, girly and casual. She always wear sweaters and quilted jackets. Harumi often pairs it with dark-toned leggings and ugg boots. ► Her look deceived many people. A lot of them believed that Harumi is quiet as she looks but she's really hyper fur ball inside. Despite of the language differences, she tried to practice Korean language and tried communicating with them even she fails to speak a fluent Korean sentence. She is very obedient towards her sunbaes well, but very naive and not aware that she's being fooled or pranked by them. But after it, she'll just laugh it off. She acquired the hardworking trait from her father, and she always shows it in many aspects. Harumi is an athletic person. Her mornings were not complete with an hour workout. In fact, she's in charge of the warm-up practices of the group. She can be strict when it comes to workout sessions but she never raised her voice to them. She can be annoyed sometimes but it easily fades away. Sometimes she's the annoying one even though she's the older one, like bugging her younger brothers and bribe them some Baskin Robbins just to play videogames with her. She often takes the blame even though she's not at fault, something that she does not understand, as well, on why she's like that. She's a terrible crybaby, and cries at small things like drama-themed shows and movies. Her mood is like EXID's song, it always go up or down. It's too complicated. She's very thankful sometimes that a few people understand her well.
Despite of all those things, Harumi can be reliable. She can empathetic to others, and often gives advice to someone who goes towards her for advices. BIO » Harumi's family lived on a bungalow-like house near the Hyogo Port. Her parents work at the coast, her father being an owner of a fishing vessel and a market vendor. She and her brothers were able to study due to her parents' hard work. Harumi simply lives, but dreams big for her family. Sometimes the money they got from fishing was not enough for them, so Harumi took the initiative from having part-time jobs like back-up dancers and dance teachers to preschool children. In the end, it was never enough, but they managed to survive within that money.
A friend of hers, which is a half Korean introduced her to KPOP. She was clearly aware of KPOP being famous in Japan but she ignored it since her main priority is to work for her family. Her friend said that she has potential in the Korean industry because of her wicked dancing skills. She thought about it and admitted that KPOP had produced dancers and it would be a big help for her. However, her parents didn't want her to go, though. As an obedient daughter, she did as she were told, but as she saw the success of her best friend, which is by the way, a member of a boy group M.I.B, she had been itching to follow his steps, not because she wanted to be famous, but it wil help them financially. With all the money she had and the help of Kangnam, she got into Korea without her parents' consent. Kangnam helped Harumi find an apartment and there she started plotting her plans in a country she's not familiar with. She had a hard time communicating with the others because she is not fluent with the Korean language. She was to shy to ask Kangnam again because he might be busy so Harumi had to do it alone.
She started by watching Korean dramas, and she started learning Korean because of Reply 1997. She had a conversational book so she can study more, and did part-time jobs on Japanese restaurants in Seoul. She finally calls her parents, which was mad at her at first, but told her if that is what she wants no one can stop her. She kept a promise that she'll call or email when she had time. She started her audition journey at SM Entertainment, Core Contents Media and Source Music Entertainment, yet she failed. She tried at Woolim, and trained for almost a year. She became friends with the female trainees there. She was supposed to be debut at Lovelyz, but there are some problems that Harumi was removed at the lineup. She was sad, at first, but she thought that things aren't over yet for her.
She made her last stop at Bighit Entertainment, doing the same piece, and got in, of course. She trained for 3 years, met a lot of new people. There she practiced the Korean language more until she can finally speak a sentence. There are times that she misses her family back in Kobe, so she made sure that she calls twice after training hours. Even she's a trainee, she still do her part-time job, even though Bang PDnim told her not to work anymore. She can be stubborn sometimes. In hopes of debuting, she trained hard.
