— kim jongin is the third child and the only son of rich businesmen kim jonghyun. born with a silver spoon in his mouth, he raise as a spoilt child and get whatever he wants. at the age of 12, he then learned that his father cheated with his secretary, park minah thus resulting to a divorce. he then followed his mother but then was forced to stay with kim jonghyun. he was forbidden to meet his mother. 3 years later, he was informed that her mother, han seunghee death. he then become rebellious and kept causing a problem be it a bullying, fighting or rude to his teachers. he then become kim kai, the who had broken many hearts, he drop out from school at the age of sixteen. he was the owner of xoxo clubs. he was actually the main reason why the club is popular at the first place. at the age of 21, he was the youngest franchise owner of a widely known cafe chains. although the money he buy the franchise was from his chaebol father, it was his sheer talent in business that made the store as successful as any other store in the franchise. and to think he was a high school dropout, school was not for him as his talent in business was something no book can teach him. he then ventured to other business that also gained success. at the age of 21, he already have 15 store under his own franchise cafe, xo cafe all around south korea and 3 xoxo clubs in seoul which one of them located at gangnam, the one he always go.

— they meet when sarang come to kai's office claimed that she was related to her late mother. she was daughter of han seungri, han seunghee younger brother. she tell him that han seunghee once said to her to look for her only son when she grew up. she decided to only look for jongin after her father died. being a smart person kai are, he doubt the lie told by sarang. sarang then told him about han seunghee memory with her child (hyunra actually search for this when she knew she was assigned to help kai). blind by lie, he believed her and give her job as his personAl assistant. he also believe that sarang is close to her mother. her work time starts at 12 in the afternoon till 3 in the morning (its because kai will only wake up around 1 and he owns club which operates till 3 in the morning). their relation was very formal as hyunra adressing kai as kim sajangnim. kai then ordered her to only address him as kai while he will address her as miss pa. being the tease and flirt he is, he like to call HER 'LOVE' AND BABY.
