FASHION STYLE

Emiko opts for comfort over fashion and usually wears over-sized shirts or tank tops paired with jeans and her beat-up tennis shoes. On especially cold days, she'll wear large hoodies, crewnecks, or sweatshirts to conserve body heat. During warmer seasons, she'll switch to shorts and leggings or knee-length socks in order to accommodate the hotter temperatures. 

PERSONALITY

Emiko is a social butterfly and believes a person can never have too many friends. Becoming friends with people is like second nature to her. Whenever she meets shy or aloof people, she makes it her personal mission to become friends with them in hopes that they become more outgoing. Emiko finds it depressing when people are lonely and do not have many friends. She wants to make people smile and know that someone out there cares about them. Emiko adopts a polite yet jovial tone whenever she meets someone new and always tries her best to create a comfortable environment so they can get to know each other. These traits also reflect how she treats Digimon. She never shies away from getting to know a new Digimon and if she meets a Digimon who exhibits trust issues, she will do her best to bring that Digimon out of its shell so that it will not be so alone in the future.

Emiko is also very optimistic and cheerful. She always sees the positive side to situations and never lets herself feel blue. To her, there is always a solution to a problem, no matter how daunting the problem may seem. Emiko sees the good in everyone and never repeats rumors filled with hurtful gossip. She can also be quite naive and innocent, which can get her into trouble because many people trick her with false information for fun. Emiko is so gullible that she will eat it right up and not question it at all.

With a taste for adventure, Emiko loves experiencing new and thrilling things. Emiko is free-spirited and enjoys life with all of its surprises. She lives life to the fullest and will not hesitate to try something new. She loves attempting the impossible and never backs down from a challenge. Emiko is not afraid to make a fool of herself and believes that having fun is much more important than maintaining a reputation that could change with one small action. She is loud and hyperactive, and sees life as a gigantic, never-ending party.

Emiko is centered around her goals and dreams. She has so many aspirations and wants to achieve everything, even if she cannot. She strives to fulfill them in any way that she can and pushes herself to the limit. Once her mind is set to accomplish something, nothing will stop her. This sometimes leads her into trouble as she will bite off more than she can chew at times. BACKGROUND

Emiko was born in Osaka, Japan, to a Chinese mother, Sun Anzhen, and a Japanese father, Tajira Hideyoshi. Anzhen met Hideyoshi in Beijing, China, and the two fell in love at first sight. They got married about three months after they met, moved to Osaka in another five months, and their first child, Ryu, was born one year later. Emiko came along another three years after Ryu's birth. Hideyoshi and Anzhen diligently raised their two children as best as they could, while still juggling their time-consuming jobs as a neurosurgeon and a cancer researcher, respectively. Hideyoshi disciplined his children with fables that contained valuable life lessons instead of using physical punishment, as he wanted his children to become successful people who live by ethical morals. Meanwhile, Anzhen showered her children with love and affection, and always did her best to attend school events even though she was extremely busy with her experiments in the lab.

Emiko and Ryu saw how much their parents worked to provide a comfortable life for the two of them, and did their best to ease their parents' overall workload by doing as many chores as they could around the house. Emiko was in charge of cleaning, doing the laundry, and doing the dishes, while Ryu was in charge of cooking, maintaining the lawn and gardens, and taking out the trash. Fortunately, Emiko was blessed with a photographic memory and never needed help with schoolwork. She also got along amicably with her schoolmates and was quite popular in school. She was often invited to parties and sleepovers, but turned down most of them because she did not like leaving Ryu at home by himself. She loved spending time with her older brother, especially since she usually never saw him at school due to their age difference.

And then, everything changed when the car accident happened. Hideyoshi and Anzhen were on their way to a medical conference that Hideyoshi had been invited to speak at. Anzhen had decided to go as well, since she wanted to speak with other scientific intellectuals about her research and learn from their ideas. As Hideyoshi was driving, the two adults were the unfortunate victims of a hit-and-run. The perpetrator was never caught, and that day marked one of the darkest days for Emiko and Ryu. It was even difficult for Emiko to keep her chin up, despite how optimistic she usually was. The two teenagers moved to Tokyo, Japan, to live with Hideyoshi's parents. Tajira Masaru, their grandfather, and Tajira Noriko, their grandmother, still worked as a lawyer and a marine biologist, respectively. Like their parents had, Emiko and Ryu's grandparents worked late nights and left the children on their own. As a result of their sparse interactions, Emiko and Ryu did not grow very close to their grandparents, and instead strengthened their already incredibly strong sibling bond.

Emiko and Ryu were enrolled in the local high school, with Emiko as a freshman and Ryu as a senior. Emiko, being the social butterfly that she was, found it easy to make new friends at this new school. She grew extremely close to two of her classmates, Jouda Daichi and Sugimoto Hitomi. She met Daichi on the first day she and Ryu transferred to their new school, as he was in the same class. Since Daichi is just as outgoing as Emiko is, the two of them clicked right away and began constantly hanging out with each other. Emiko first met Hitomi when she noticed the shy girl sitting by herself at lunch one day. Emiko introduced herself and began comfortably conversing with Hitomi, who was very surprised and nervous that someone was actually paying attention to her. Emiko eventually got Hitomi to open up to her and introduced her to Daichi as well. Emiko, Daichi, and Hitomi formed a trio, and spent most of their time hanging out with each other.

Prior to becoming best friends with Daichi and Hitomi, Emiko spent much of her free time with Ryu since he did not make friends quite as easily as she did. Especially since he transferred in the middle of his senior year, most students had already established tight-knit friend groups and cliques. Ryu's somewhat cold and stuck-up exterior also put off several of those who might have considered getting to know this new kid, so he ended up spending a lot of time alone unless Emiko forced him to eat with her and her friends. When he graduated from the high school and began college, Emiko was not able to be there for her older brother as much as she wanted to. However, Ryu was able to make a few close friends which put Emiko's mind at ease. Sometime in her junior year, Daichi introduced Digimon to her. Emiko was very interested, as it seemed like fun, and decided that she wanted to start playing as well. She was not very good at it, but did not mind losing since it just meant that she needed to keep practicing until she got better at it.

FAMILY

OLDER BROTHER — Tajira Ryu // 20 // college student // Ryu is very laid-back and chill, never stressing and just taking things as they come. Despite his seemingly cool exterior, Ryu will do anything for his friends and helps them in any way he can. However, he is also rather forgetful and does not keep track of his belongings very well. // Emiko and Ryu are two peas in a pod. They trust each other with their lives and they understand each other better than they understand themselves. If one falls, the other is there to pick the fallen back up. They watch each other's backs and hold heart-to-heart conversations when one is feeling conflicted over a problem. They are each other's biggest fan and supporter. They defend each other at all costs whenever one is slandered by someone else. They know each other's deepest, darkest secrets and craziest, wildest dreams; there is nothing hidden between the two of them. Since they know each other like the backs of their hands, it is also easy for them to pick fights since they know exactly how to get under each other's skin and make the other person mad. But in the end, they manage to resolve their arguments with laughs and hugs. In short, they cannot exist without each other.

FRIENDS

BEST FRIEND — Jouda Daichi // 17 // high school student // Daichi is very vocal and exudes an aura of confidence. He is fearless when it comes to speaking his mind. It does not matter if Daichi is speaking to business CEOs, the school board, or his mother. He will say whatever is on his mind if he feels strongly about the issue or situation. Daichi is extremely brave and carelessly throws himself into everything, regardless if it is a good decision or not. He cares deeply for his friends as well and sees it as his job to shield them from harm. He can also come off as cocky at times, especially when he is participating in a Digimon battle. // Emiko greatly admires Daichi and thinks he is one of the greatest people she has ever met, after Ryu. If Emiko did not have Ryu as her older brother, Daichi would be the most important person in her life. They love teasing each other for hours on end, knowing that the other person will not get angry because they are just that close. Daichi looks out for Emiko whenever they are at school and does his best to make sure that harm will not come to her. BEST FRIEND — Sugimoto Hitomi // 17 // high school student // Hitomi has always been a soft-spoken introvert. She would rather focus on her studies than socialize with her peers. As a result, whenever she does interact with other people at social gatherings or in the classroom, Hitomi becomes quite awkward and bashful. She feels most comfortable around people when she is tutoring other students or studying with other hard-working students. // Emiko's adventurous character is tempered by Hitomi's cautiousness. Whenever Emiko gets into trouble, Hitomi is always ready with a plausible excuse to bail her out. Because of Hitomi's shyness around other people, Emiko has taken it upon herself to introduce as many people to her best friend as possible, in hopes that she will break out of her shell and make many more friends other than herself. DIGIMON — Kudamon

DIGIMON'S PERSONALITY — Kudamon is very calm and serene. She never panics during dire situations and can always be counted on to quickly find a solution to a problem when no one else can. Kudamon also deeply detests conflict and always tries to find alternatives to fighting. On the rare occassion that she does fight, she is highly analytical and precise when strategizing her attacks. This allows her to attain the upper hand in battle and easily finish off her opponents, especially those who are not as skilled as she is in strategy. Kudamon is deeply compassionate and loves all Digimon, which makes her merciless towards those who try to disrupt the balance of the Digital World and senselessly kill other Digimon.

RELATIONSHIP WITH CHARACTER & DIGIMON — Kudamon acts like a motherly figure towards Emiko. Whenever she needs someone for advice and Ryu is not there, Emiko will go to Kudamon who is just as good at giving advice. Sometimes, Kudamon is even better since she has a unique perspective of the world as a Digimon. Kudamon is also Emiko's voice of reason, and tries to keep her from making rash decisions that will either get them in trouble or hurt. And whenever Kudamon allows her rage to overtake her reasoning, Emiko is there to convince the Digimon to listen to the offending party's rationale for their actions. Emiko does not mind playing devil's advocate in those cases, since she does not want Kudamon to stoop down to the level of those who have no respect or compassion towards other Digimon.

FACTS ABOUT DIGIMON —
ONE — She does not let anyone touch her holy cartridge or her holy earring, except for Emiko.
