Personality—Sayomi is an outspoken person who speaks her mind, even when it means saying the hard truth that no one else can seem to voice. She's not afraid to stand up to the manager if she feels she or her groupmates are being mistreated, and she is always adding her two cents in when composing the album. This creates a lot of friction at times as has earned her the label of "the sassy one," as she isn't afraid to sass back. But it's more than just "sassing back" to Sayomi. It's having a voice and exercising your right to use it and be heard, something Sayomi learned on the playground at a young age. She is intelligent and had a quick mind and wit and can easily talk circles around the most educated of persons. That being said, Sayomi has a reserved side that very few people see. Even her groupmates have a hard time reaching that level of Sayomi, and when they do they're in for a surprise. Underneath her "sassy mentality" is an old soul who just wants to perform on stage. She's really quite sensitive to other's comments about herself and is her own harshest critic, especially after having failed to debut once, but she covers it up with a quick wit and a brash attitude. She always gives every performance her all, her heart left on every stage she performs on. All she wants is to make her mother (and father, dare she say it) proud, and if it means speaking up and being a hard sometimes, then so be it.

Background— All her life, Seo Sayomi was a rebel child. Born the younger of fraternal twins in Seoul, South Korea, Sayomi always had to fight for what she believed in. It didn't help that she was only half Korean, where kids used to bully her on the playground. That's where Sayomi first learned to use her voice, metaphorically and literally speaking, as well as her fists. She and her brother were known as the trouble twins, the ones who were disrupting class and causing arguments, but in Sayomi's case they were always justifiable (namely sticking up for someone). When she and her brother were 10, their family moved to Japan, first Tokyo then Kyoto for their father's business. Little did they know that he was involved in a Ponzi scheme that would land him in prison with a 20 year sentence when she turned 15. It was during that time of grief that her once aggressive nature pacified to the point where the only time she would talk is if it were about music. To help her daughter, Ayumi signed Sayomi up for vocal classes, which she attended weekly and then daily as her passion for music increaed. When she was 16 she competed in her high school's talent show and won second place, singing Adele's "Hometown Glory." Little did she know that there were Avex Ent scouts in the audience who later approached her and offered her a contract. Her mother, eager to foster Sayomi's talent, agreed, and Sayomi was signed to a contract with Avex at age 16. However, things didn't pan out (namely her agressive nature returned and managers found her unruly) and she was dropped from the lable two years later. A year went by of working odd jobs and singing at clubs before a scout from YG Ent approached her and offered her a second chance at idol-dom. Knowing that she didn't want to blow this opportunity, Sayomi agreed, not just to the contract but to taming her aggressive personality, and she has been a trainee under YG ever since and is now set to make her debut in the collab group CODE:6.

First Meeting— Namjoon (RM) and Sayomi first met backstage at an M!Countdown where Sayomi was a backup singer/dancer for Lee Hi. Sayomi's mic had tripped during the performance and was fuming mad at herself when she got offstage. Her inner fireball was starting to come out, and she clumsily walked into the wrong dressing room. Luckily she didn't see anything, but Namjoon was there and managed to calm her down to a reasonable level and get her back to the appropriate dressing room - but not before getting her number.

Interactions— Though they first met as an accident, their relationship continued despite his status as an idol and her status as a trainee. Late night texts and video chat sessions were the norm, and whenever BTS had the rare day off Namjoon would try to spend it with Sayomi, usually just sitting at a cafe drinking coffee and just talking. Namjoon soon became the only other person besides Nicole who could calm an angry Sayomi down. The two were both quite the intellectual as well, and just enjoyed each other's company talking about sports, business, politics, etc, sometimes in different languages just for fun. Though there is currently a dating ban from both companies, the two manage to show their affection and care for each other by sending each other notes of encouragement and poems. They're physical in private (just kissing) but keep PDA to a minimum in public due to Namjoon's idolhood. They steer away from traditional romantic stuff when gifting (no flowers or chocolate) and lean towards a more contemporary relationship (poems and articles of hip hop clothing), fostering a relationship where each balances the other and keeps the other in check.

Trainee Life— Was initially a trainee at Avex in Japan but was quite the unruly artist. She would talk back to managers, question the authority of producers, and outright drive the entire production team insane. She even got into physical confrontations with other trainees, one of which landed her with a broken arm and the other with a black eye, that which facilitated her being kicked out of the company. Realizing her own failure to achieve her dream and the disappointment she caused her mother, she decided to clean up her act and went undergorund for a year, singing at clubs and bars to earn extra cash. When a representative from YG ent approached her and offered her another chance at being an idol, she knew she had one last chance and that she would do whatever it took, even if it meant sacrificing part of her personality, to succeed and make her mother proud. During her time at YG she became very close with Lee Hi whom she became a backup singer/dancer for, as well as Minzy and Bom, both of whom took Sayomi under their wings and showed her how to behave like an idol and how the entire idol system works.
