UPDATE: COPYCAT'S FIC IS GONE. HELL YES.

Yes. You read the title of this blog post right. And no, I am not pulling your chain. April is still a month away and I’ve never been a fan of the whole “April Fools’ Day” .

I posted a blog earlier, talking about my anger over the plagiarism of my friend, Sapphy’s works. And with the angry rant came the curious wonder of “Have my fics been plagiarized lately?” which then resulted to me pulling out my document files and searching on Google. It started out well enough. I copy a portion of my summary or first chapter on the Search bar, wait for it to load and I pleasantly find my own links listed on the search page. I went through my ‘ongoing’ list, breathing well and easy as Say I Love U, L’inizio di Una Vita, A Case of Ages and Bipolar checked out…

And then I pasted in a part of “The Stages of Losing Breath” and well…

The thing is The Stages of Losing Breath has been plagiarized before. Twice, if I remember correctly. The first time it happened, someone had alerted me rather late and when I checked on the link I was sent, the fic was already pulled down. The second time it happened, the ‘copier’ was in Soshified and used Taeyeon/Tiffany as her characters. This person made an effort, somewhat. She changed sequences and some lines. Which lessened the blow to a minor degree, even though it was still completely wrong. And when I asked her to take it down, this person was kind enough to reply and ask for my forgiveness, which I gave freely because I understood how difficult it is to come up with plot.

But this time? Oh this time it’s way too much. Not only is the whole summary (and basically the rest of the fic, save for the names that she changed) copied word-per-word, even the ing title was the same as mine.

Am I overreacting? Yes, probably. Is it justified? Also yes, because I give a piece of myself with each update I make.

I said it before in a previous blog post that if this happened again I would start deleting my work off of the internet. I don’t think people take this warning seriously, so let this be your notice. There will be NO MORE FIC UPDATES from myself in AFF, AO3 or LiveJournal for all of March and perhaps April. Come April 2015, I will decide which of my fics will be for public consumption and which will be ‘Invitation Only’.  And then by the end of the year, I will decide whether to deactivate my Asianfanfics Profile or not. ---> READ FINAL DECISION

I admit I may be running on anger and sorrow, but at the moment, I am done. I work so hard, keeping a toe into fandom just so that I can continue to write as much as I can and do to fulfill my own personal needs and my readers’. And somehow this happens.

So yes... this is my decision for now and the near future.
