Idyllic Oblivion

"Go on Kyungsoo." Kris motioned at the door that led to the doctor's office. Kyungsoo shook his head and drew back, running into Sehun's expecting arms.

"Awe, you're so cute Kyungsoo." He cooed loudly and hugged the boy from behind. "I'll walk in with you, would that be okay?"

"I don't want to go in."

"If anyone is going in with him, that's going to be me." Kris gruffed, taking his small companion by the wrist and entering through the doorway. Jongin felt the need to follow, but knew that wouldn't be a very smart choice, which concluded to merely returning to the waiting room with the others.

Before he knew it, Kyungsoo was sitting on a stiff bed sort of structure, which was an ugly brownish-yellow. There was a sterile smell lingering the room, and the scent was absolutely foul. He scrunched up his nose in disgust, closing his eyes so the motivational medical health posters around him couldn't be seen. Kris let out a light chuckle.

"Don't worry. It's just going to be a checkup."

"A-Are there going to be shots?" Kyungsoo peered through a space that his fingers were unable to cover.

"No, there shouldn't be at least. Trust me Kyungsoo, we're just trying to help. This'll be over before you know it."

"But what if-" Kyungsoo began to bring up more impossible seeming consequences until he was interrupted by the room door opening quickly, revealing the doctor who opened it. He was handsome. No- he was beyond handsome. More like a feminine beauty; nevertheless, Kyungsoo couldn't help but admire the face. The doctor was wearing a white coat that still made him look quite pale, and rounded glasses that hung barely at the bridge of his button nose. His hair was dark, and spiked upwards in delicate clumps that weren't shiny or glossy, as if he didn't use any hair gel to make it look so amazingly flawless.

"Kyungsoo?" He asked in a melodious voice. Kyungsoo snapped out of his trance, looking up at his angel-like doctor.

"T-That's me."

"Hi. I'm Dr. Kim, I'll be your doctor for the day." Dr. Kim tapped at his clipboard with serious eyes. "You don't seem to have anything wrong with you. No symptoms of any sort.."

"This is his first checkup." Kris answered. The doctor nodded with a 'hmm' sort of noise.

"Oh." A strange look drew onto his face. "That's quite strange. You don't look very young."

"He switched doctors."

"Ah. I see." Dr. Kim nodded again. "So this will be a regular checkup. Let's start with the basics. Do you have any pains or any marks you can't seem to explain?"

Kyungsoo swallowed. There was only the pain in his lower waist, but that seemed more than enough to scare the living daylight out of him. He shook his head, hoping Kris wouldn't interfere.

"He's having some pains in his lower waist doc." Kris spoke. Kyungsoo mentally groaned.

The doctor furrowed his eyebrows.

"Okay. We'll do all the basic checkups, then a physical."

"A-a physical?" Kyungsoo stammered.

"Yes Kyungsoo. I'll be examining your body."

The doe-eyed boy looked shamefully down at the floor. Dr. Kim let out a well-natured laugh as he gently set down his clipboard onto the counter, and removed his stethoscope in the process. He sat on the rollaway stool against the corner of the door, then pushed himself towards Kyungsoo to where he was looking at him, eye to eye.

"Kyungsoo, I know you're going to uncomfortable with the physical, but you're not the only one. It's for your own good, and your-" The doctor paused for a second, a hand pointing at Kris's direction.

"Boyfriend." The Chinese male lied with confidence, sending a wink at the other who turned around in shock at the response.

"..your boyfriend is here to watch over you. Not that I'm a bad doctor, I simply know that you trust him more then you trust me." What Dr. Kim said was logically true. Kyungsoo nodded sheepishly before returning to his hopeless gaze down on the tile floor, whereas the doctor began to examine his ears, eyes, nose, throat, and other necessary areas that required attention. Kyungsoo would every now and then uncomfortably twitch whenever medical tools came in contact with his sensitive skin. Dr. Kim was luckily able to calm him down before anything stood in his way of simply doing his job, especially a scared patient. When it came time for the physical, Kris personally asked the young doctor to discuss something outside.

Dr. Kim gave a puzzled look, until he finally agreed, walking outside with the taller. Closing the door, Kris gave a weak smile.

"Kyungsoo is a strange boy, I know." He inquired, making the other give a gentle laugh. Dr. Kim shook his head.

"He's just shy. What a precious boy."

"He's precious yes, but he's a little sick. I mean that in the nicest of ways, just we found Kyungsoo dirtied up by my hotel. He doesn't have the slightest recollection of his past."

Dr. Kim stated and blinked for a moment, unsure of how to respond. He cringed slightly in thought, then signed heavily while processing to rub his temples.

"..Mr. Wu, I can share with you the many patients I've encountered in the past, but bringing a lost boy that's unable to remember his past is probably by far the most outrageous." The handsome doctor gritted his teeth, silently hoping that what he had just said didn't come out so rude. "How did you even get Kyungsoo an appointment?"

Kris looked off to the side in shame.

"I put him down as my son. But I would be extremely grateful if you kept this between us, I'd hate for my parents to find out."

"So chivalry isn't dead." The doctor sadly looked down, then nodded. "Mr. Wu, this is very unprofessional."

"Dr. Kim, please.." Kris held himself back from sounding overly desperate. Although the shorter was difficult to read, everyone knew that coming out desperate was bound to go the other direction.

"..Alright." Dr. Kim bit his lip, which Kris found was pretty. "I'll keep his documents confidential." Before the older could thank him, the doctor rushed back into the room, where Kyungsoo sat alone on the stool with a blank expression.

"What were you guys talking about?" He asked.

"Nothing doll." Kyungsoo couldn't help but smile at the nickname. His doctor began to scribble something down into his clipboard before setting it down and facing his patient with concerned eyes. "Do you want to relax a little before we begin?"

Kyungsoo stood for a moment, then shook his head. Better done sooner than later. Dr. Kim glanced at Kris after he grabbed two gloves from a nearby box, and gave a serious expression. Kyungsoo was somewhat confused with their sudden change in relationship.

"Are you going to stay here?"

"Oh-No. I'll.. wait outside." Kris nervously laughed, stepping out of the doorway with an odd body posture.

Kyungsoo began to feel himself sweat. What would the doctor find? Is he seriously ill? Would he have to leave Kris if they find something so disturbing, the others can't stand to even look in his direction? The questions were getting to his head, and fast. The doctor drew closer with furrowed eyebrows.

"We'll begin with your upper body. Is that okay?"

"What happened?" Jongin stood up first when he saw Kris returning into the waiting room. Sehun and Jongdae reacted a little after, setting down their books and phones to ask the same question. Kris sat in the empty beside his tanner friend.

"I told the doctor."

"Told him what?" Jongdae asked this time, eyes dropping.

"That we fou-" Kris paused when he saw both Jongin and Sehun silently telling him to shut up. He had completely forgotten that Jongdae wasn't supposed to know Kyungsoo's whereabouts. Jongdae gave a questioning look.

"What? Found what??"

"Nothing. I just told the doctor that Kyungsoo was having some pains around his waist."

Jongdae let out a heavy sigh.

"That poor boy. He must be traumatized from being in a car accident."

Kris scrunched up his face, then turned to look at Jongin and Sehun when the term, 'car accident' was brought up. The two gave guilty smiles, Sehun adding in a cute thumbs up before turning away to discuss something quietly with his other friend. The oldest rolled his eyes; he was very much expecting that the two were responsible for such a ridiculous lie. At the same time, he was grateful that they didn't say anything that could effect him and Kyungsoo's relationship.

Little twerps. I should treat them later.

For what seemed like forever, Kyungsoo walked out of the doorway and into the waiting room, Dr. Kim trailing him from behind. His hands were wrapped around his waist for whatever reason, and the younger boy wore a gloomy expression.

"Mr. Wu?" The doctor called out, causing the others to look in his direction. "May I speak to you for a second?"

Kris stood up immediately, his long legs shifting the stiff chair he sat on. Kyungsoo waddled over to the others fairly quickly, Sehun being the first to call out 'Soo!' with warm and welcoming arms.

The Chinese male shuffled anxiously to the doctor, hands growing sweaty. Whatever it was the doctor wanted to share with him, it didn't sound good at all. Dr. Kim closed the door, then returned to the room where Kyungsoo was examined.

"Mr. Wu," He began in a stressed tone, unknowingly annoying Kris with his professionalism. "Has Kyungsoo been ually active?"

"Se-" Kris stammered in utter shock, a million theories already forming in his mind. "What are you talking about?"

Sighing for the hundredth time that day, the doctor looked up from his clipboard. His eyes seemed tearful for some reason.

"..It's difficult telling you this, but he seems to have some bruising around his testicular area, not to mention some unusual rashes. It's not his legs or waist that's giving him a hard time walking, it's the wounds along ."

Kris couldn't talk. Of course, how could he have been so stupid to not notice? The velvet strip, the memory loss. Jongin was right, and he was too selfish to even consider his honesty. He didn't even notice any bruising when he changed Kyungsoo out of his clothes on the first day they met. Blinking rapidly, Kris scrunched the thin paper sheet laid out on the bed.

"W-What are you trying to say?" His voice came out monotone.

"Kyungsoo could have possibly been ually assaulted. Excuse me for saying this, but the only other possibility is frequent ually activity with, well, his significant other. But his lesions are far too serious for such a small outlook like normal . He may have been forced into these actions." Dr. Kim swallowed. "The memory loss I can't quite explain, but it's very likely that he may have been drugged."

"." Kris growled, shutting his eyes.

"If I can help in any way, it would be my pleasure." The doctor continued, a look of sympathy on his small face.

The older nodded before speaking. He didn't know whether to be angry at how Kyungsoo was touched, or that he was touched in general. Both to him were driving him insane, just the simple thought of Kyungsoo only concluded in adding on more anger. How could he help the boy now?

"Okay." He agreed quietly as Dr. Kim slipped a slip of paper into his coat pocket.

"This is my number. Call me Junmyeon from here on."

Thankful, Kris bowed respectfully, then returned back into the waiting room after he Cyprus necessary paperwork for Kyungsoo's prescriptions. Kyungsoo was sitting quiet and content on one of the stiff chairs, comparing his hand size with the others. When Kris came into his vision, the small boy paused, giving the taller a scared frown. So he knew.

Jongin stood up first, giving his approaching friend a pat on the back.

"So what happened?" He asked smoothly, his eyes letting off its usual alluring characteristic that everyone envied. Kris looked at him with narrowed eyes.

"Nothing. Let's go home." Kris looked over at Jongdae who was fiddling with Sehun's hair. "Are you going with us?"

The handsome boy nodded, then head out first, Sehun stuck beneath his arm. Kyungsoo cowardly stayed put, missing the warmth of Sehun around him, and looked down. Jongin cocked his head to the side in confusion.

"What's wrong?"

Kyungsoo looked back up, then suddenly rushed out the door. He left a chilling breeze flow between Kris and Jongin. They looked back, Jongin being the only to question his strange behavior.

"Is he okay?" He asked, sending a look at Kris. The older simply let out a low gruff before walking off. By now, Jongin was determined to know what the issue was.

Following his friends, the tanned boy skipped ahead, stopping beside Kris a large childish grin.

"What's going on?" He chirped cutely, hands in pockets. The other ignored him.

"Hey come on," Jongin pouted, getting seemingly frustrated with the atmosphere. "Don't ignore me."

"Piss off."

Jongdae turned around at the remark.

"Hey! Don't be rude to reach other." He eyed the three boys, until he finally noticed Kyungsoo's upset expression. His large eyes were glued to the ground and his steps are short. Cooing sadly, Jongdae went up to him with droopy eyes. "Kyungsoo..? What's wrong?"

Kyungsoo swallowed.

"I'm wrong."

Jongdae and Jongin looked in Kris's direction, expecting an explanation. Unfortunately, the older said nothing, merely looking away from them and letting out a low grunt. He knew why Kyungsoo was upset, and he felt that it wasn't necessary for the others to know; it would only end up in more commotion. Kyungsoo felt like a burden, knowing that since Kris knew he was touched, the older would despise him for being disgusting. To let it happen or simply have it forced onto you, the small boy was convinced that both were equally foul for it to happen at all. The part that hurt the most was that Kris didn't exactly know how to react to the fact.

"Wrong?" Jongdae giggled cutely in attempt to lighten the mood. "What do you mean?" He reached the car, opening to door for the smaller to enter first.

"I'm disgusting."

Jongin narrowed his eyes and pursed his lips. Why was Kyungsoo being so negative? Where was the shy, happy, squishy boy everyone loved dearly?

"Awe, Kyungsoo. Don't say that. I think you're amazing just the way you are."

Kyungsoo didn't respond after that. He silently climbed into the vehicle, stuffing his tiny figure into the corner of the seat to avoid any more questions asked. Kris found himself getting somewhat bothered by it. Looking at the rear view mirror, the small boy was wiping his delicate cheeks with his pajama sleeves. It was such a cute sight, but it wasn't supposed to be cute. It was supposed to be sad.

"Will someone say something?" Sehun complained. "The awkwardness in here is so thick, I think I'm suffocating."

Jongin, who was sitting in the passenger seat, glanced back with a humorous grin.

"Let's just be quiet until we get home."

"But that's boring~" The maknae drew out the final word. Jongdae pushed his hair back from the back seats, whereas the youthful blonde sat in the middle.

"Don't worry Hun. We can go home and plan that trip we were talking about."

Kris froze. The trip, of course, how could he forget? Does Kyungsoo even want to go anymore?

Looking back, Kyungsoo was gazing out the window, fingers entangled with each other as if they were fighting. The doe's breathing was for some reason, heavy and uneven. His pale cheeks were tainted with a pretty fade of pink, but wasn't colored enough to make it plainly obvious that he had been crying. Kris glumly looked off to the side; he wasn't in the right mood to see someone like Kyungsoo cry. It felt like he was killing a puppy.

When the group arrived at his house, Sehun and Jongdae simultaneously hopped out, a blissful yelp escaping their lips as they flew into the winter gale. Kris and Jongin calmly exited the vehicle, until the duo noticed that Kyungsoo hasn't budged since the car came into park. Instead, the small boy crumpled himself into the corner, uncomfortably shifting in his unusually strange body position. A frown grew on the older's face at the way he looked so crippled and helpless.

"..Kyungsoo? We're here." He managed to choke out.

"Are you okay?" Jongin spoke this time, narrowing his eyes. He was yet to know about his physical.

Kyungsoo shook his head with a small sniffle before looking away. Before Kris could make a move at all, Jongin let himself back into the car, crawling towards the crying boy with a gentle smile. He placed himself beside the doe-eyed darling, and pat his shoulder.

"Don't cry Kyungsoo." He began extremely quietly, knowing anything louder would scare him away. Kyungsoo glanced past him to eye Kris with a sympathetic expression, eyes glazed over and beady. His gesture wasn't meant to be taken mockingly, but the older male uneasily stared back.

"I know." Kyungsoo stated, pupils dilating when he noticed the eye contact. "I won't." The boy climbed out of the car reluctantly, afraid of Kris's stare. It was fierce, and equally intimidating. Maybe that's why everyone was so afraid of him.

Jongin released a content sigh as he moved out of the way for the other to exit. Kyungsoo brushed past Kris; almost as if he intended to show off the somewhat rude gesture. Rude or not, Kris was still irritated by being shunned continuously by the smaller boy. He didn't hate him- just that's how Kyungsoo choose to see it.

I don't hate you. Why the hell is that so hard to notice?

A low, accidental growl slipped out of Kris's lips before he could process it. The shortest turned around in confusion, his eyebrows angled downwards in frustration.

"You think that I think you're disgusting?" The older scoffed sarcastically, finally finding the prefect opportunity to express his foiling. Kyungsoo frowned in guilt, and swallowed. He could feel his head and chest beginning to pound right out of his skin. Honestly, that's all he could've wanted at that moment, he's never felt more anxious. Jongin appeared by his side with a nervous grin.

"No one's disgusting, Kris." The tanned boy stated with confidence.

Kris ignored his younger friend's remark, and returned to Kyungsoo's frightened face. It was upsetting to see, but there was no turning back now.

"Kyungsoo, just trust me. Those bruises don't mean anything." , you make it sound like it was okay he was touched. , Jongin's here.

"What bru-"

"It's gross!" Kyungsoo snapped suddenly, interrupting Jongin's question. Kris wasn't at all fazed by the comment, and instead found himself growing more self-assured in the argument, as he would call it.

"It's not gross-" The Chinese male declared triumphantly, having some trouble to choose his list of valid comebacks. "You act like you're the only one when you're not."

"But that st-"

"That still doesn't change anything. You don't have your memory, and regardless of what caused them, we're going to find out what happened to you."

"I don't want to find out."

"We'll I do." Kris forcefully grabbed Kyungsoo by his shoulders, ignoring the cry of pain that he caused. "You can't live like this forever."

Kyungsoo gazed into the sharp features of the older's face, then shifted out of the grip caged on his shoulders. He knew well that he was to find his memory eventually, or have it simply return one morning. That's what Kyungsoo was planning on happening naturally, but he had no interest in finding out what his real life was like. He was dreadfully ashamed and had done thoughts of what it could already be, with the wide variety of possibilities: e, slave, or some disgusting form of another's sugar baby, knowing that he was one of those was a matter of pure pity.

Letting out a sigh while listening to reality mock his life, Kyungsoo changed his facial expression from sadness to a look of defeat, and gritted his teeth together.

"I know." The short boy admitted. "But consider my existence when you find out." His last sentence was released coldly, Kris taken aback by his statement. He watched Kyungsoo turn around and begin to make his way back inside. Jongin turned to face Kris, his eyebrows angled suggestively.

"What the hell is going on?" The tanned boy demanded, punching his friend harshly on the arm. Kris hissed and winced.

"It doesn't concern you."

Jongin frowned at his quick response. Before he could ask any further questions, Kris rudely brushed past him, head high and expression stressed. The younger boy exhaled, then proceeded to follow with curiosity.

"I'm going to have to find out eventually." He spoke harshly. The other looked back, with a mixture of surprise and annoyance mixing in with his already angry facial expression.

"And why is that?"

"Don't I hold the same amount of responsibility for Kyungsoo as much as you do?" Jongin spat, ignoring Kyungsoo shudder at the sentence in front of them.

"No. You don't." Kris allowed the words to be spoken, feeling the poison line his lips before storming on ahead. He was aware of Jongin's interest in Kyungsoo; just he had no intention in sharing. Kyungsoo seemed like one of the only people to actually succeed in making Kris smile.

Jongin stopped in his tracks. A flurry of words began to form in his head, a whirlwind of honesty that could hurt anyone. He knew he was bound to regret what he was planning on saying, but Kris' emotions didn't matter anymore.

"Ever since Kyungsoo came along, you've been such an ." He began with pride, eyes burning embers. Kris turned around slowly at the words and glared, whereas Kyungsoo walked ahead, faster than his little legs could. "You can't even give me even the smallest pinch of kindness, yet when you look at Kyungsoo your whole world is sunshine and rainbows."

"Doesn't that drop any clues for you at all?" The Chinese man rolled his eyes in annoyance.

"Yeah. That Kyungsoo makes you smile- I know. But that doesn't give you the damn right to push away everyone else from your life."

"I already did, Jongin." Kris smirked. "And there's no turning back."

"Bull. You're ahead of yourself Yifan. All I'm asking for is a little respect; the same respect you give to Kyungsoo. I want to be able to talk to him without you getting in the way all the time. I want to be able to talk to you the way Kyungsoo can, but you're always shoving everyone out.

"If you keep this up, you'll just be upset again, and be worse than ever. Kyungsoo is probably just another quest for you, huh?" Jongin spat his words out so quickly, the older was surprised himself with the fact that he wasn't given a chance to speak. "That darling is just another one of your credit cards; use it all up until you can't anymore, only to toss it out later. Oh, I'm sorry- you think you need him? What's the point of needing someone if they'll eventually just become worthless?"

"You watch your ing mouth." Kris stammered, afraid of believing the words thrown at him. "Kyungsoo is more than that."

"Yeah, to me." Jongin hit his fist against his chest with teary eyes. "You could care less about him."

"Shut up!" The oldest flung a fist at the tanner boy, only to find his wrist being helplessly grabbed with a stronger force- Jongin's strained hand.

"No. You can't order me around. I don't care if you want Kyungsoo anymore." Jongin looked down, feeling a tear drop from his stinging eyes. Despite the amount of regret and pain he felt, a smirk was beginning to form on his heated face.

"But if you want him, I'm your only obstacle."

Chapter 1: Chapter one was intense! I really feel the sense of lost nothingness from Kyungsoo, like the description seemed to suggest. I can't wait to see what happens next! (Though it's just an expression, I totally can wait, so take your time.ㅋㅋ)
