Best Friends Forever
Description
Follows this prompt:
Person A and B of your OTP are walking to the park like they always do, but Person C (NOTP with person A) sees Person A and B. Person C talks to A and asks them on a date. A, curious, nods (to test things out with C) and B “receives an important phone call’ saying they have to go. Person B gets home and cries, and, despite hating alcohol and having a surprisingly high tolerance to it, drinks themself out cold. Person A’s date with C doesn’t go well and A goes to B’s house for comfort, only to find Person B having dry tears on their cheeks with vodka bottles around them.
Except, I kinda changed the storyline in regards to the last line of the prompt but the general idea is there.
Foreword
Hi, dear readers: the following foreword is literally just me rambling so feel free to skip it. Just do read the highlighted portion and you'll be all ready to continue to the first chapter :D
This fic is a total mess, I’m gonna warn you first. It isn’t like my other fics which is really all descriptions and feels; I feel like the way I wrote this fic was more conversational and less descriptions, so it should by logic, have less emotions evoked from it. Nonetheless, since I wrote it, I decided to put it up.
I don’t even know what genre to tag it. There is a certain amount of angst, there is a whole chapter of crack, there is some fluff to it, though I should put up a little disclaimer least any of you reads this to the end only to realize it wasn’t what you signed up for:
This fic is pretty much a best friend!fic. They do not end up together (at least not here, though maybe in a sequel…) Some of you will feel like the fic ends “in the middle of nowhere” because we are all used to reading fics where our OTPs ends up together, or where OTP meets so much angst that they do not end up together; but this fic ends fluffily yet OTP does not end up together. Yea, but that means potential to extend it further in the future.
The entire fic was typed out on my phone, and I’m checking it over my computer; but if there are still any mistakes or typos, do forgive me and don’t be shy to point the out to me - I wouldn’t be offended (I promise).
I feel like I should also point out that although 2min used to be my NOTP, it no longer is. I have grown to like Minho quite a lot through the years and even though I do not have as strong negative feelings towards the pairing as I used to have, I couldn’t think of any other pairing that I could put this situation in because my first OTP used to be TaeKey, and I kinda do ship OnTaeJong sometimes. So in conclusion, I apologize for making our Choi Tenderheart the antagonist of this story.
I may have made this fic a little personal, so if you think that the way Ontae acts around each other isn't that of friends, I'm going to tell you that my best friend and I act exactly like that (maybe even more).
