Then why did I write in English about an American scientist, you may ask? Well, first of all, most of fanfictions are written in English so most international readers can read and review it. Then, I decided my character would be American as a question of credibility. She's also black in order to fit with the theme: alienation, being the "monster" (even though, I hope you agree, being black, asian or whatever does not make you a freak under any circumstances ><).
