"Come on, love. They're waiting for us," he said, offering his hand to me. I stared at it. It was the first hand I ever allowed myself to hold - the first hand whose fingers first intertwined with mine. It was the hand that held me during my happiest and saddest of days. It is the hand whose touch I would know anywhere in this world and the only hand I would ever want to hold.

I took his hand and felt the definite sense of belonging I only feel whenever I am with him. He smiled at me and my breath hitches. Years have gone and passed us by, but this man still gives me the sparks I've felt when I first met him. I smiled back at him, knowing how he likes it best.

"You nervous?" he asked, worry visible in his eyes.

"Not a bit," I answered, knowing in my heart that it is true. 

"Well, they're waiting for us. You ready?" 

I listened as the cheers and the screaming grew louder as the MC announced the beginning of the program. I held his hand tighter, took a deep breath, looked into his eyes and said...

"I am." 

Not because it is the right thing to do, nor the right thing to say. It is because he is mine, and I am his. Wherever he go, I go. And this moment is ours.

Finally, it is ours.
