In The Dark, I Kiss Your Fingertips

Donghae held his breath as he opened the door to Hyukjae's room silently. He quickly slipped in and closed the door carefully. The room was dark but he was very familiar with the layout. He made his way to the bed on tiptoe, trying hard to not make any sound and disturbed Hyukjae's sleep.

He heard Hyukjae's even breathing and kneeled down beside the bed. The faint light from outside the window showed that Hyukjae was lying on his side, facing Donghae. One of his hands peeked out from beneath the blanket.

Donghae smiled as he stared at Hyukjae's sleeping face. Hyukjae's blonde strands had fallen forward and obscured half of the handsome face while the plump lips were slightly opened. Even in his sleep Hyukjae managed to steal Donghae's breath away.

He tore his gaze away from Hyukjae's serene face and stared at the exposed hand. Hyukjae's hands were one of the things he loved. The skin were smooth and the fingers were long and slender, even the nails were perfectly manicured so unlike his, with popping veins and short and stubby digits.

He shivered at the memories of what those soft hands and fingers were capable of. They could warm his whole being on cold winter night. They could pull him up and push him forward whenever he felt down or discouraged. They could soothe him whenever he was in need of comfort. They could bring him to the heights of pleasure whenever they ghosted over his skin.

With a fond smile on his face, Donghae leaned forward and with the lightest of touch kissed Hyukjae's fingertips one by one. The sleeping man must have felt the kisses since a sigh could be heard escaping from those plump lips.

"Hey." Hyukjae croaked, voice heavy with sleep.

"Hey." Donghae said as he lifted the blanket and slipped in beside Hyukjae.

"Did you just get back?" Hyukjae asked as he moved over to make room for Donghae.

Donghae made himself comfortable and snuggled up to Hyukjae's warm body. "Yeah. The filming took longer than planned." He sighed as the familiar scent of Hyukjae's strawberry shampoo filled his nostrils. "I miss you." He mumbled against Hyukjae's skin.

Hyukjae pulled him closer. "I miss you too." He said before he kissed Donghae's forehead.

Donghae tilted his face upward. "Again." He demanded.

Hyukjae chuckled and complied, landing a soft kiss on Donghae's thin lips.

Donghae smiled into the kiss. "I love you." He sighed happily.

"Hmm. I love you too." Hyukjae murmured, already half asleep.

Donghae grinned and grabbed one of Hyukjae's hands and brought it closer to his face. Again he kissed the fingertips.

Hyukjae opened one eye and smiled indulgently at Donghae. "You really like kissing my fingers." He said, more a statement than a question.

"I do. They're beautiful." Donghae nodded, eyes also falling close.

Hyukjae squeezed the hand in his and Donghae squeezed back. Soon their breaths evened out and both fell into slumber, hands holding, fingers intertwined.
