Word Count: 3268 Words.   Quietly walking through the spacious indoor garden with his hands stuffed into his pockets, he took a seat on a bench placed at the farthest corner behind a few large trees against the wall of the synthetic place. Releasing a shaky sigh, he crossed his arms over his chest and leaned his head back against the cool wall. He closed his eyes and the only thing he could see was her. How long had it been since he's left her? A week? A month? Maybe two? Or had it been a year already? He didn't even know. He was not allowed to leave the laboratory and he had lost track of time while walking aimlessly around the dull place.   "Sehun, you know that I love you."   Quietly, Sehun released a shaky breath.   Her hand lightly caressed his cheek and on her lips was the sweetest and most beautiful smile he had ever seen, "You know how much you mean to me and how much I care about you. I want to keep you happy and always protect you like how you always protect me."   Softly, Sehun whimpered, "Then stay."   "The year that we've spent together has been crazy and bumpy, but I loved every moment of it. I've never been as happy as the times I've spent with you," she softly smiled and placed her other hand against his cheek also.   "Then just stay," he whispered.   Lightly his cheek, Ara tiptoed up towards him and softly whispered against his lips, "You mean so much to me, Sehun. You're precious to me, you know that, right?"   "Then don't leave me, Ara, please," Sehun croaked, leaning towards her disappearing warmth. Her lips didn't even touch his before she pulled away and disappeared and he was enveloped with darkness. Running after her–towards the spot she stood only seconds before–he frantically looked around him, whipping left and right, desperate to get just a single glimpse of her. But she was gone.   "Sehun, are you okay?"   He jolted awake as someone placed a hand on his shoulder. For a moment, hope foolishly filled his body, but as soon as it came, it instantly faded and was replaced by a sense of loneliness and longing. Blankly looking up at the older man, Sehun felt his entire facade shatter and he broke down miserably. He shook his head as broken sobs left his lips. Burying his face in his hands, he leaned against his knees and trembled with each whimper and cry. It hurt so much to miss her. It was so terribly exhausting to yearn for her and long for her. Sehun really didn't know how much more he could take. He wanted to give up.   "It's okay, Sehun. Everything will be okay," Baekhyun quietly the younger one's head.   "H-Hyung, I need her. I-I need Ara here. I need to see her," Sehun helplessly gazed up at his older brother, "I-I need to hear her say that she loves me."   "Sehun, it's been almost three months already," Baekhyun softly spoke, "She may have moved on."   Shaking his head, Sehun the silver band around his finger, "S-She can't. Hyung, Ara can't forget me."   Heavily sighing, the older man sat beside Sehun, "Humans forget. Their memories fade. We, androids, don't. Our minds are programmed and created to keep and store everything that happens to us. We remember everything, but they don't."   "Not Ara," Sehun stubbornly shook his head, "She won't forget me."   Quietly gazing at his younger brother's pale and gaunt face, Baekhyun stood up with a small sigh, "Sehun, come with me. I want to show you something."   Obediently, Sehun followed after the shorter man. Baekhyun arrived and stopped at a closed door and Sehun recognized it as Joonmyun's room. He had been in here a few times before, but that was a long time ago. And yet, the room hadn't changed one bit, except for a few small details. He wordlessly followed behind Baekhyun as the older man led him to the photos pinned to Suho's wall. He silently watched as the older man lifted up a few photos, revealing one that was hidden underneath three other ones. Baekhyun carefully pulled it out and handed it to Sehun.   "Suho hyung met her a few months after you left us," Baekhyun softly spoke, "She asked for someone who could protect her, so Professor gave hyung to her. We never met her, but Suho hyung assured us that she was a sweet girl. What we didn't know was that it was all pretend. She abused him. When she was out in public, she held onto his arm, spoke to him sweetly, and acted like they were dating, but when they were away from the crowds, she completely ignored him and locked him up in an isolated room. When he questioned her about it, she called him trash and garbage. She was only using him to try and get back at her lover, but none of us knew that, not even Suho hyung. Hyung loved her. He truly didn't understand how she could change so drastically from when they were inside her home to outside. It was a cycle of torture and reward, Stockholm Syndrome if you will. He didn't understand it, but he loved her regardless and that was what eventually broke him. She returned him when she and her lover reconciled."   Speechless, Sehun stared at the smiling face in the photo. How could someone who looked so sweet when smiling do something so evil? He almost didn't want to believe the story.   Baekhyun scoffed at the bitter memory, "When she returned him, he didn't even understand why–he didn't even know he was being returned. He simply thought that she'd return in a couple of days, but weeks passed and she never came back. He snuck out of the lab to search for her, but what he found was her standing at the altar kissing another man."   The older android forced a broken smile, "That's why he shouted at you that day. You fought to stay with a human who didn't want you. Suho hyung did the same and in the end, he got hurt. He just doesn't want you to get hurt, Sehun."   Wordlessly, Sehun let his gaze fall from his brother's face to the photo in his hand. Joonmyun had gotten hurt falling in love with a human girl. Sehun had fallen in love with a human girl also, but Ara was different. Ara didn't have any past lovers she wanted to stay with. She had only him. She would never betray him or hurt him. She truly loved him, Sehun knew she did. She never once hurt him. She never once abused him. She only ever showed him wonderful things and made him happy. If anything, it was him who always hurt her. Ara was different from the girl Joonmyun loved.   Handing the photo back to Baekhyun, Sehun slowly shook his head, "Ara is different. I-I'll go find her. I'll go look for her–"   "You can't," a cold voice spoke.   Whipping around, the two younger androids found Joonmyun standing at the door. He had an unreadable expression on his face that refused to show whether he was mad or hurt. He stiffly walked towards them and held his hand out. Baekhyun placed the picture in his palm. Sehun watched as Joonmyun tore the photo in half and discarded it in the garbage can.   "Hyung–"   "You can't leave. No one is allowed to, not anymore. Professor prohibits any of us from leaving this lab ever again. He said that we will be leaving this place. A branch of the research laboratory up north is willing to take us in.
