‘ So… What did you do? ‘ Myungsoo glanced at the lanky boy leaning on the wall beside him.

‘ Do what? ‘

‘ When you weren’t here. ’ Myungsoo clarified. He was curious, and somewhat hopeful that Sungyeol hadn’t gotten any new friends.

‘ Oh, Howon and Sungjong introduced me to a few other seniors and they seem to be really nice. I would love to introduce them to you but.. ‘ Sungyeol trailed off, knowing that he hurt Myungsoo’s feelings, even just for a bit. ‘ I’m sorry. ‘

‘ It’s alright. ‘ Myungsoo forced a smile. ‘ So who are they? Maybe I’ve heard about them before. ‘

‘ Sunggyu, Dongwoo and Woohyun. Bet you didn’t know that Sunggyu and Woohyun are a couple. ‘ Sungyeol chuckled. ‘ They’re really cute together. ‘

‘ Woohyun? Is that by any chance, Nam Woohyun? ‘ Myungsoo stiffened slightly, looking at Sungyeol for an answer.

‘ Yes! How on earth did you get to know him? ‘ Sungyeol’s turn to be curious. Myungsoo shook his head, but Sungyeol started to do puppy eyes until Myungsoo finally relented.

‘ Well, he.. he was like you, I guess. ‘ Myungsoo breathed out heavily. ‘ He was a newcomer who stumbled by chance into this room as well, finding about my existence. He understood me, and we became friends immediately. Like really good ones. He was a musical genius. Proficient both vocally and in the sense of instruments. Much better than you. ‘ Myungsoo smirked slightly when he felt Sungyeol’s annoyance, but otherwise ignored it.

‘ We continued being friends, but I couldn’t bring myself to tell him about the piano sheets that I composed. Maybe I didn’t trust him enough. But one day he just came and told me he wouldn’t be coming anymore, because he found his true soulmate. ‘

‘ Sunggyu hyung. ‘ Sungyeol breathed out as Myungsoo nodded. ‘ I was glad for him, but I just lost a friend like that. I guess I was scared that you would be like him… But thank you for willing to come back. ‘ Myungsoo garnered enough courage to give Sungyeol a small hug, and was surprised that he was actually able to touch Sungyeol.

‘ You… you can touch me now?! ‘ Excited, Sungyeol jumped up and patted Myungsoo on the back.

‘ OMG OMG I can touch you too! ‘ Sungyeol squealed, hugging Myungsoo back tightly.

‘ Seems like after spending so much time with you, I’m getting some human characteristics back. Myungsoo chuckled lightly. ‘ Is that good? ‘

‘ Of course! Wait, let me try something. ‘ Sungyeol took out the packet of biscuits he was saving for supper and fed one to Myungsoo. ‘ Eat it. ‘

 Myungsoo opened his mouth obediently, munching on the cracker. ‘ Cheese flavoured? ‘

‘ Myungsoo, you’re awesome! ‘ Sungyeol shook his thumb at him as Myungsoo looked at him weirdly. ‘ Anyone who has taste buds should be able to tell that  it’s cheese flavoured. ‘

‘ You idiot, you have your taste buds back and you can eat! You’re like a real human now, pabo! ‘ Myungsoo realised the fact as he stared blankly at Sungyeol for one moment, then whooped in joy as he raised Sungyeol, hugging him tightly as he twirled Sungyeol on the spot.

‘ Thank you so much, Sungyeol. You don’t know how much this means to me. ‘ Myungsoo grinned as his lips touched Sungyeol’s ears slightly as the latter blushed.

‘ It’s.. it’s okay, but you might want to let go of me now. ‘ Sungyeol and Myungsoo jumped apart, both blushing red now. ‘ I was… overexcited. ‘

‘ Nah, it’s alright! ‘ Sungyeol waved his hands, glancing around. ‘ So shall we continue practicing? ‘

And in Sungyeol’s attempt to change the topic, he brought himself into hell again.

‘ Oww. ‘ Sungyeol complained.

‘ What? ‘ Myungsoo frowned at Sungyeol anxiously.

‘ I think my fingers just died on me. It’s painful~ ‘ Sungyeol pouted again as Myungsoo sighed in relief.

‘ I thought you broke a bone. ‘ Sitting beside Sungyeol, Myungsoo took his hand and massaged it gently, smiling tenderly at Sungyeol. ‘ It may be painful, but bear with it a bit. ‘ Looking at Myungsoo’s gentle demeanour, Sungyeol was mesmerized. He never thought the piano demon could be so gentle and sweet, and he actually had this really weird feeling and hoped that the moment would continue forever. But Sungyeol stopped himself in time.

‘ Yah, Lee Sungyeol. You dumb or what? As if he would fall in love with you! You are just… his tool to play the piano again. Yeah. ‘ Sungyeol convinced himself, meeting Myungsoo’s eye smile, and he unconsciously smiled along.
