Birdwatching
Teamwork"Disappointed, but not surprised." Dahyun sighs as she tosses a stack of recruitment flyers into the recycling bin. Tzuyu hesitates for a moment, staring at the flyers Dahyun had spent hours the previous night designing, before she mimics the shorter girl's actions and drops them into the bin. "Ha, I actually thought that I'd be able to run my own club off of an idea as lame as birdwatching. Why did I think this was a good idea to begin with? I shouldn't have expected anything out of it."
"Don't be too hard on yourself, Dahyunnie. We still have time to recruit the necessary number of members to keep the club going. I think I have enough blackmail material lying around to persuade a few people to join - "
Dahyun turns around to face the taller girl, a forlorn smile on her usually cheerful face. "It's okay, Tzuyu. There's no point in trying when I know the club can't be saved. It's over. I accept my honest defeat."
"I didn't think you were the type to give up."
Dahyun offers the other girl a weak shrug. "Some things just can't be helped, Tzuyu. You don't have to worry about me though. I'm going to be fine. I could probably join the Bible Study Club or something. I always thought it would be pretty cool."
"I liked your club. It was really fun." Tzuyu confesses quietly.
"Me too... That's why we're going to make the most of what we have left before we go down."
"Good afternoon seniors! You're invited!" Dahyun exclaims as she bounces over to the trio and passes each of the upperclassmen an obnoxiously orange envelope. Tzuyu soon follows with visibly less enthusiasm.
Jihyo's confused gaze flickers between the envelope in her hand, to Dahyun's toothy grin, and Tzuyu's lack of expression. "Invited to what?"
"A party, after school in the birdwatching clubroom. It would mean a lot to me if everyone was able to show up, so please try to make it if you can! Thank you in advance. I need to hand these out to the other guests so please excuse me. Have a great day!" With that said, Dahyun quickly skips away as Tzuyu and the older girls watch. Tzuyu doesn't follow after Dahyun, merely opting to remain silently rooted to her spot.
"Tzuyu, do you know what the party's for?" Nayeon questions, peeking into the envelope.
"...it's a disbandment party for the birdwatching club."
Nayeon exchanges glances with Jeongyeon and Jihyo.
"Rad party." Chaeyoung comments, taking a sip from her plastic cup afterwards.
"Thanks." Dahyun says as she spots Nayeon, Jeongyeon, and Jihyo entering the room. S
