How do you tell someone you like them when they can't hear you?
At the age of 20, I've found myself having relapses of feelings that I thought I'd only experience in my teens. I have a crush on a boy.
He doesn't know who I am, and I guess I don't really know who he is either, but I do know of him. His name's Mark and I think I like him. He's different. He has this bright red head of hair that stands out from yards away, but contrary to his flamboyant hair, he seems very shy and unapproachable.
He doesn't talk very much—or at all really—but after today, I don't think he can.
I've always noticed him around campus because a bright head of hair set upon a fairly attractive face is hard to miss, but today, he was in one of my classes. The hair was unmistakably his, even from my seat towards the very back of the lecture hall. He sat in the front row by himself, which was a gutsy move in this class because rumor had it that this professor was the type to pick on students often. Although when class started, there was another person up in the front of the class. It was a lady who was translating all of the professors words into sign language. And Mark was watching her.
He doesn't talk not because he is shy, but because he is deaf.
He is now a thousan
