Growing Up Years

It is finally the end of the week. Yunho had volunteered to take care of the twins while Jaejoong goes to the clinic to finish his paperworks that he didn't get to do. "Honey, please don't set the house on fire." Jaejoong kissed his sons and his husband goodbye before driving off.   Yunho had hoped that today would be quite a peaceful one since they will be staying at home. However, his hopes had been shot down as soon as he started his Daddy-chores.   He was sterilizing the twins' bottles when he laid down on the mat on the floor beside the boys. Yawning, he felt himself succumbing to the fatigue that has accumulated the whole week.   He was awakened by a loud shrill noise coming from the kitchen and the smell of plastic burning. Panicked, Yunho shot straight up and dashed to the kitchen where the forgotten pot of bottles burned. Yunho quickly turned the stove off, sprayed on the fire using the kitchen's sink spray and then proceeded to open all the windows. Heart pounding, Yunho checked on his sons who were awakened by the ruckus. The smoke detector had caused so much noise that his neighbor had come knocking on their front door. "Hey, are you alright?" A woman around Yunho's age had gazed worriedly inside their house. It was very evident that she had rushed to their house because she was still wearing her apron and mismatched slippers. "I hear the alarm and I knew that it's only you and the boys inside so I think you'd need help with something." "We're okay, I guess." Yunho was still panting as he let his neighbor inside their house. "I fell asleep while boiling the bottles and it kind of got out of hand." He explained, ashamed of the little accident that he had. "Oh my gosh." She gasped at the huge mess in the kitchen. "Let me get my little Yurin and help you clean this mess." She shook her head. "Thank you so much, Kahi." Yunho smiled in relief. "I wouldn't know what to do without your help." "No problem. You and Jaejoong have a real special place in my heart." She smiled and went back out to fetch her daughter.   A mere five minutes later, Kahi was back with her 2-year-old daughter and a basket of cleaning materials. He placed little Yuri down on the mat and started working on the mess inside the kitchen. Yunho tried to help her clean but she had ushered him out of the kitchen and told him to just look after the children.   "Yuri doesn't need that much attention anyway. She'll even look after little Yunjoong for you." She chuckled as she scrubbed the blackened tiles on the wall. "Do you still have any bottles left to feed the boys?" She asked to which Yunho answered with a loud gasp. "You are left with nothing..." She sighed then continued cleaning.   Yunho heard Yunjoong cry and he quickly ran back to the living room to pick up the bawling child. He tried to shush the child to no avail. Yunjoong started crying more, his small, shrill voice started echoing inside the house. In a panic, the father tried consoling the child with his pacifier. The baby stopped but it didn't last long. Yunjoong had spit out the pacifier and started his wailing again.   "Oh my God, Yunjoong. Please stop crying." Yunho sighed frustratedly. "I'm going to buy some bottles soon. Please stop crying." He tried to stop the baby by getting into a rythmic sway. "I'm almost done with this, Yunho. Please get ready to go buy the bottles." Kahi instructed. "Can I leave the boys with you?" Yunho looked at her with his tired eyes. "I'm sorry Yunho dear. Yuri and I are actually going out with my husband in an hour. I don't think I can take the boys in today." She said apologetically. "It's alright." Yunho nodded understandingly. "Thank you for helping me clean that mess, really." He smiled and then excused himself to get ready for their little outing.   Ten minutes later, Yunho was waving Kahi and Yuri goodbye as they got out of the door. As soon as he heard the alarm set up, he quickly ran around the house to gather the twins' things and stroller and rushed to the garage. In half an hour, Yunho and his sons arrived at the mall. Yunjoong was still wailing as he sat in his baby carrier which straps were placed awkwardly on Yunho's shoulders. Yunjae, thankfully was lying quietly in one of the seats on the stroller. The trio
