Ice Prince

I'm Sorry We Love You

As D.O. had announced the preparation of breakfast, the dining room was slowly getting fuller while the atmosphere was growing warmer. On the right of Jangmi was Kai, who was dressed in full business attire, and on her left was Luhan. Nobody had started eating until everyone was seated at the table. However, right when Tao took the first bite of his hashbrowns, “Tao ate the food before praying! Now you have to say Grace.” Suho said with a small smirk. Even though he grumbled under his breath, Tao brought his hands besides him to interlace them with Kris and Lays who were seated next to him. Although the 13 of them were involved in the most violent underground affairs, Jangmi had brought the tradition from their orphanage to always thank the Lord by saying Grace. As all of them brought their hands with each other’s, Jangmi couldn’t help the smile that grew on her face. She looked around as all of the 12 boys started to close their eyes and bow their heads except for one. D.O. had caught her gaze and simply winked as he mouthed the words, I love you.

Halfway through breakfast, everyone could hear the grandfather clock in their living room ring as it struck 9 o’ clock. Kai almost choked on his food as he quickly drank the last sip of his water before pushing his chair back, “Sorry guys, but that’s my cue to leave. I’ll see you all at the orphanage!” he said before he rushed out of the dining room towards the front door. Jangmi quietly followed him until he stood up from putting his shoes on and wrapped his arms around her waist. He waited patiently as she brought her hands up to fix his crooked tie. “See you later, Kitten. Stay safe.” He whispered a kiss onto her hair after she had finished. Jangmi waved lightly from the doorway as he got into his red Lamborghini and drove off.

After helping Lay and Kris clean up after everyone’s mess, each member went back to their room to get ready for their busy day. Being involved with multiple mafias, it clumped up each of their schedules’, hence why Jangmi likes to wake them up early. Jangmi was on her way from the laundry room when she bumped into a very tired Xiumin, “Minseok! Why aren’t you in bed?” Jangmi asked as she quickly placed the laundry basket down and brought her hands up to his face. “I can’t fall asleep. Will you sleep with me, Rosie?” he mumbled as he leaned his face towards the warmth of her palms. “Of course, I will. Go wait for me in your room while I put this away, okay?” she replied immediately with a reassuring smile.
After she folded all of the clean clothing, Jangmi opened the door to Xiumin and Luhan’s room to find Luhan already in deep slumber on one side of the enormous bed. Xiumin was sitting on the other side by the edge, waiting patiently for his personal sleep drug to come and lull him to sleep. Xiumin crawled to his side of the bed as he motioned her to come lay beside him. As she got in between Luhan and Xiumin, the latter had pulled her closer to his body and laid his head on her chest. He quietly listened to the soothing metronome of her heartbeat as she started to sing softly.

As her melodious voice started to make Xiumin’s eyes droop, Jangmi couldn’t help but look down at his defined features. Each 12 of them had particular traits and characteristics that could never be replaced and she was ever so grateful. Grateful that the 12 men she fell in love with, were crazily in love with her as well. As she felt his breaths even, Jangmi placed a kiss on his head as she gently brought herself away from his loosening arms. She brought the comforter over both his and Luhan’s body before she turned away and headed towards the door. She turned back around leaned against it as she gazed at the two softest members of the group. Even though they were the two eldest, either of them could turn into a little child in a matter of seconds, a child that just desired love. As she sent them one last smile, Jangmi turned around and headed to the office across the hall. She knocked on the door twice before she heard a soft come in. She pushed the door open and was met with both Chanyeol and Tao engrossed in piles of paperwork stacked on each of their desks. “You guys should be resting, too.” Jangmi lightly reprimanded as she walked over to Chanyeol. He pushed his chair away from his desk so that she could sit on his lap, “Don’t worry, Sweetheart. We were just finishing up.” He sent her a tired smile while placing a kiss on her nose. “That’s easy for you to say. You didn’t have to deal with the Chinese Weapons and Arms Triad for 6 hours. They’re so god damn stubborn, I can’t believe they finally decided to trade with us.” Tao said while rubbing his hands over his face exhaustingly. Jangmi stared at him with pity before she finally got up, “Alright. Up. Both of you.”
“Where are we going?” Chanyeol asked as Jangmi grabbed his hand before grasping Tao’s. “You two are getting the sleep you need while I finish up for you guys.” She said as she walked them to their bedrooms. “No, Jangmi. It’s too much. Besides, we were almost done!” Tao said but he knew by the worried look he received from her that arguing was no use. As Chanyeol gave her a kiss on the head, Tao embraced her tightly, “Thanks, Baby. Don’t overwork yourself. And call Hansol if you’re having trouble.” Jangmi nodded as she pushed him towards their bed, “Now go to sleep, you two need it.”

After finishing the remaining paperwork in 2 hours, Jangmi decided it was time to head to the bookstore. As she walked to one of the many bedrooms, Sehun had just come out of his. Seeing it as an open door opportunity, Jangmi decided to head towards Sehun’s and Kris’s bedroom to get ready. “Hi, Noona. What are you up to?” Sehun asked as he put a beanie on his head. “Think I’m going to get ready and head to the bookstore. Want to come with me?” she asked as she entered the room. “Sure. I’ll wait here…f..for you..” Sehun trailed off as Jangmi openly took off the button up shirt (which was his by the way) and revealed her amazing figure as she headed towards the bathroom. “Alright. Give me 15 minutes and we can go.” She said with a smile and she closed the door behind her.
Sehun stood there dumbfounded, as a stupid smile appeared on his face. “You’re going to be the death of me, Jangmi.”

Dressed in skinny jeans, white button-up blouse, and flats, Jangmi stepped out of Sehun's Mercedes-Benz and waited as he locked the car. Sehun grabbed Jangmi's hand as they both started towards the bookstore. As they stood before the double doors, Jangmi reached in her purse and grabbed the key and unlocked the giant metal boards that blocked their entrance. The moment the two stepped in, all eyes were on them and immediately everyone bowed their heads. "No need to do that, everyone. We're all the same, remember?" Jangmi reminded with a bright smile. Sehun looked down beside him at the gorgeous human being who spoke and basked in her glorious presence. Her perfect face sculpted by her luscious locks that he loved to play with. And her smile that could lighten up the darkest of rooms. His thoughts were cut short when a voice interrupted them, "Hi, unni! Hi, Sir!" a young woman with butter blonde hair came up to them. She stood in front of them with a binder and folder held in her arms. "Hey, Seulgi. How's today's stats going?" Jangmi asked as Seulgi led her and Sehun to their database room. "It's going very well actually. Tao, Xiumin, Chanyeol, and Luhan's trip really benefited our intake levels! Tao's contract with the Chinese really improved our trading market, too." Seulgi went on as she held the door open to the room. Seulgi was Jangmi's personal assistant at the bookstore and Seulgi owed her life to Jangmi. While Jangmi was a senior in highschool, she befriended a young freshman Seulgi who was constantly abused by her stepfather. The night she saved her, Jangmi was the one who...got rid of her stepfather before he could do any serious damage and because of that, Seulgi devoted her life to Jangmi.
As they entered the room, everyone stood and bowed once more before Sehun motioned them to sit down. In the front center of the spacious room, was a giant screen that had every number related statement EXO had ever been associated with.  Whether it was a new deal with another business or simply the number of weapons imported from Mexico, it was all televised on the screen. Now I know what you’re thinking, “I thought you said ‘bookstore!’” Well, they’re not going to call their base headquarters, HQ! That would be too suspicious! So everyone had just opted into calling their intelligence base, the bookstore. Jangmi stood by her desk, which was sleekly organized, and grabbed the prepared cup of coffee by her notebook. "How are Joy and Yeri, by the way?" Jangmi asked about Seulgi’s two younger sisters. "Good! They've been at the orphanage for 2 whole months now. I think they really like it there...” Seulgi trailed off. “I-I couldn’t be more thankful, unni. You’ve done so mu-““Seulgi. You know I would do everything in my power for you three so don’t mention it. Come on, we’ve talked about it before.” Jangmi reassured her. They were interrupted as loud voices were heard by the door. Sehun sighed knowingly before the door busted open and revealed two very handsome and tall men. “HAHA, HEY REMEMBER WHEN YO-Oh! Hey, Sehun! Hi, Jangmi!” Changmin stopped mid conversation as he entered with his partner, Yunho. Jangmi chuckled at Sehun’s tortured expression as the two men walked towards them, “Hey, guys.” Jangmi replied but her attention was quickly shifted as the phone on her desk started to ring, “Excuse, me for a minute. It was nice seeing you, both.” As Jangmi walked over to sit at her desk; Sehun couldn’t stop but admire her from afar. He watched as a worried expression took over her facial features as she started to play with the phone cord while speaking to the caller. A stupid grin appeared on his face when he remembered the first day he met her.

Sehun had just turned 17 when he had first laid eyes on the only woman that would matter in his life. Rumors were going around the prestigious private school, as a new student had been entered into the advanced program that he and all his 11 best friends were in. As much as you’d think they would want to meet the new student, the 12 of them had more important things on their minds. All 12 of the boys’ parents were very high and well-respected leaders in the private government that lived across the world. Kris’ parents in Canada, D.O’s parents in Brazil, and so on. Sehun had just gotten a call from his parent’s assistants that they would be visiting along with the 22 other parents for a visit. Although his parents might live across the world from him, Sehun still admired them greatly. His father was known to be strict and uptight while his mother was free-spirited and flexible. Embarrassed to say, he was excited to see them next week. His thoughts were interrupted as a small force collided with him. Seconds later, Sehun found himself staring in awe of the beauty that was on the floor before him. Her head was ducked but Sehun could clearly see her flawless face hidden under all the red blush that appeared on it. Her luscious hair was a deep chocolate color and framed her face perfectly. He heard her mumble lightly to herself, saying how clumsy she was and he couldn’t help but chuckle lightly. She quietly whispered an apology as she gathered her scattered books. Sehun quickly grabbed the last one before squatting in front of her. Gasps could be heard as one of the twelve gods of the school bent down and helped the new girl. Jangmi, who was still on the floor, looked to her left and right with a confused expression on her face as to why people were suddenly whispering. She stopped as she realized there as a figure in front of her and quickly lifted her head to meet eyes with the stranger she bumped into. Sehun saw her blink a couple times before an astonishing smiled appeared on her face, “Thank you.” She whispered as she took the book from his outstretched arm. Sehun, still in shock, stealthily stood up and held a hand out for her to take. She gratefully smiled at him once more, before perfectly placing her delicate, warm hand into his. He smoothly picked her up as he pulled her petite figure up and was surprised to see how light she was as she stumbled into his chest. Sehun placed both his hands on her waist to steady her balance as she placed both hers on his broad chest. Blush rushed to her face as she looked at the stranger before her. They continued to stare at eachother, in awe of each other’s beauty and oblivious to the crowd of gossiping students around them. “What’s going on, here?” a booming voice could be heard as a teacher came upon the gathered crowd, “Get to class, immediately! You all are tardy!” he yelled as he held his teaching stick in his hand. Jangmi quickly removed herself from Sehun’s embrace and once again thanked him before he had a chance to catch her name. He watched as her figure grew smaller as she went further away from him. Sehun, without realizing, had a determined grin on his face as he was to find and meet his stunning stranger once again.
Fast forwarding a couple days, Sehun still had not encountered his beautiful stranger. Wearing a sour expression, Sehun made his way into the lunch room and towards the table with 11 model like gods, also known as his best friends. “Hey, kid. What’s up with the face?” Kris asked as he put an arm around his shoulders. Sehun growled at the nickname before shrugging his arm off, “Kris, you’re only two years older than me. Shut up.” Baekhyun and Chanyeol snickered as they stared at Kris’s pouty expression. Lay, being the soft-hearted one, suggested that he cheer Kris up with his favorite vending machine drink. As the two of them left, Xiumin looked worriedly at his youngest best friend. “Hey, man. What’s been going on with you? You’ve been agitated the whole week.” He asked as he sat across from the upset blonde. “Sorry, hyung. I guess I’m just really anxious to see my parents.” Sehun stealthily lied. Well, it wasn’t a full lie; he was anxious to see his parents but also in hope of seeing her again.
Lunch continued with jokes being thrown around their table and longing looks being thrown at their table. Even if you had just met the 12 of them, you could obviously tell their tight band of brothers like relationship. Girls around the school who were envious to be their significant others, called the 12 of them the gods of the school, considering their breathtaking looks and intelligence. Kris was the star player of the basketball team along with Tao holding the best defense position the school had ever seen. Chanyeol was the school’s record breaking quarterback while Kai and Lay were dancing prodigies. Luhan and Xiumin were co-captains of the never defeated soccer team while Baekhyun and D.O. were captains of the wrestling team. Chen was the drama department’s heart throb along with Suho who was the class valedictorian. Sehun, on the other hand, no one knew what he liked to do. Everyone knew he was physical capable of anything, taking in mind his very athletic build but besides his friends, no one had ever seen what the school’s ice prince enjoyed to do.
Lunch had ended which meant that Sehun could go home if he wanted to because of his free class period at the end of the day. He bid his friends a short goodbye as he headed towards the front entrance to where his personal chauffeur would be picking him up. Sehun stepped outside only to be met with a loud thunder and thick, dark clouds sweeping above his head. He grumbled as he remembered he didn’t bring an umbrella with him and turned around to wait inside only for the door to be locked. He huffed in frustration as he thought if he was going to get a little wet, might as well get soaked. He stepped fully out of the protection of the school overhead and stood by the curb as rain started to pour down. This continued for about a minute until Sehun stopped feeling the pelting raindrops on his head and shoulders. He raised his head to be met with a bright red umbrella being held above his head. He slowly turned his head to the left only to have his eyes almost bug out of his face. There standing before him, was his beautiful stranger, in all her glory. She was wearing the school uniform appropriately and had her hair in a tousled French braid. Her eyes were set in front of her for a couple seconds before she shyly turned her head and met his gaze. “You didn’t seem to be having much fun while getting soaked.” She said in a small voice. Sehun continued to openly stare, “My name is Jangmi. It’s nice to formally meet you, Oh Sehun.” His body shivered the way she said his name and couldn’t help but smile back at her, “How do you know my name?” he asked as that was the first thing to come up in his head. Jangmi quickly ducked her head in embarrassment, “W-Well I asked around if anybody knew that guy I bumped into the other day…only to find that he was the youngest prince of this school.” She said in a teasing tone. Now it was his turn to blush as she cleared his throat, “I-I’m not a prince,” he said, “but I am looking for a princess…” he didn’t know where the sudden confidence came from as he openly stated he was looking for a significant other. Jangmi met his gaze with a confusing stare before giggling, “You’re not as cold as everyone says you are…Why is that?” she asked. Sehun, with his overpowering confidence spoke, “I’m only cold to those I don’t want to open up to. I’m quite a warm person if you get to know me, almost as hot as the sun” he said jokingly. A melodious laugh filled the air as Jangmi laughed shortly before Sehun laughed with her.

Sehun continued to watch Jangmi as she spoke with the caller, and at this time, Yunho and Changmin both looked at eachother with knowing smirks. “Man, not only you but 11 other of our best guys are so whipped to her.” Changmin said in a teasing tone. Sehun masked his blushed face as he cleared his throat, “So, what are you guys doing here? We still have a week until the executive meeting.” Sehun asked to avoid any more embarrassment. His question was unanswered as Jangmi appeared before the three of them, “Sorry for leaving so soon, but I’m going to have leave first to the orphanage. Lami sprained her ankle from sparring.” She said while grabbing a couple folders. “I’ll drop you off.” Sehun offered as leaned away from the desk. She sent a grateful smile to him as she faced Seulgi to speak with her upcoming schedules.

Now, when you think of the word, “orphanage”, you often think of a run-down building with kids in shaggy clothes hiding behind doors and corners. Not this one.
Like the bookstore, the orphanage was another nickname for an enormous building that was established a while ago. However, it did relate to an orphanage in some ways.

As Sehun was driving, Jangmi couldn’t help but lean her head against the window. She took a deep breath before she started humming a random melody and tapped her fingers on the glass. Sehun snuck glances at the woman next to him as he admired her simplistic innocence yet maturity. He faced the road once again as the building was coming up. Sehun parked the car by the entrance before getting out and running to Jangmi’s door and opening it for her. Being used to the royal treatment, Jangmi smiled before stepping out and placing a swift kiss on his cheek. Sehun responded with a peck on her head before closing her door and entwining their fingers together.
Jangmi was told that Lami was still in the sparring room so her and Sehun walked towards the back entrance instead. As they went around the building, screaming and shouting could be heard as young boys and girls were in the middle of a paintball fight in the back woods. “HEY, SEHUN HYUNG! HI, JANGMI NOONA!” they heard multiple kids shout their greetings before being distracted by their game tactics. Jangmi watched as the children around them were being trained for full combat when they grew older, yet were still having so much fun.
They continued walking past training students before they got to the sparring room. “Hey, I’m going to check on the weight room. I’ll meet up with you, later.” Sehun said before squeezing her hand and jogging towards a different room. Jangmi simply watched him leave before entering the sparring room.
