CHAPTER NINE

"Oh, for 's sake..." Chunji groaned. "You're doing it all wrong!" He watched the purple-haired kid with frustration, annoyance and incredulity. How could one not know how to answer such basic questions?
"Well, since you're so bloody smart," Byunghun snorted, pushing the paper towards him. "You fill it up." He rolled his eyes, folded his arms and leaned back. Chunji scowled, and grabbed his pen.
"You must be an idiot," he said crossly, scribbling furiously. It was nearly time before their practical ended, and the first few questions out of ten had barely been answered. "How the hell did you even get into this school? Paid your way in?" he muttered.
"Same way as you did," Byunghun smoothly replied, pretending not to have heard his last remark. "Got born with brains resembling the structure of Einstein's, and scored in everything like how a genius would. A natural genius, mind you." At this, Chunji coughed, all the while never ceasing in his fluid motions.
"Admit it, you're horrid at chemistry," he sniffed. "Look, you can't even jott down your damn observations right. You freaking need new eyes," he shook his head, and ended his words with a flourish. "There! Now, go hand it up. Make yourself useful for once."
"How your words cut me," Byunghun clicked his tongue, but nonetheless did as told. When he returned, he shot Chunji a glance. "I may be ish in Chemistry, but I'm a god in Physics. Just saying."
"Oh, really?" Chunji wanted to laugh. "Then tell me, how did you manage to score the exact same grades for both, then?" he prodded. "The almighty Lee Byunghun apparently can't do science," he sneered. "You should be in the arts stream."
"I was meant to be," Byunghun pointed out resentfully. "But my parents didn't want me to be in there. They don't see languages and music to be assets, apparently."
"Pity," Chunji shrugged, not mentioning that he had an interest in music as well. "Well, class' over," he said, turning his head to the clock to look at the minute hand. "Get lost, Byunghun," he waved his hand. "Seeing your fac
