When two people are in love, they may deny it, they may face it.
But what most won't do is to hurt the other in a way that would hurt themselves in return as well.
Call it being stupid or call it being in denial, but to him, it's the only way he can deal with his mess of feelings.
Love does make people do stupid things afterall.
