"She talked to me today..."

"She did?! Wow, how long has it been since you guys last talked?"

"Three or four months now, I can't remember exactly. It hurt too much after the first month to continue counting."

Sunny nodded her head in understanding.

"She kind of acted like everything was okay, and I'm so mad I just dropped it."

"Taengoo, you know you can't be mad at her no matter what ed up she does."

"I know." Taeyeon sighed, resting her face in the palm of her hands.

"Hey, cheer up. Aren't you happier when you guys make up, anyways?"

Taeyeon shook her head, "I don't know anymore." She wasn't lying, she really didn't know. There were times where she was so happy being able to talk to Jessica, and other times where it hurt more than ever. But then again, when they aren't friends, it hurt even more. She didn't know what was best for her. It seemed like no matter what, she'd get hurt.

"Hm...I don't know what to say to you. Love is so complicated." Sunny sighed.

"Tell me about it."

The two best friends sat in a comfortable silence on top of their favorite swings. They always meet up with each other at this exact play ground when one of them needs to vent, or when one of them are feeling down.

"Hey Taeyeon?" Sunny asked, breaking the silence.

"Yes?"

"Why did you fall in love with Jessica?"

It was a question that Sunny had for centuries. Why did Taeyeon love her? There were so many people who showed interest in her baby faced best friend. Taeyeon had only told her she loved Jessica three years ago at this exact play ground while crying. Sunny had never questioned it, afraid of her best friend's tendencies to keep to herself. She already felt lucky for being the only one who knows about Taeyeon's love for Jessica.

"..."

Just like Sunny had guessed, she was only answered with silence.

"I honestly don't know how to put it into words."

Or so she thought. Sunny immediately brought her face up to look at her best friend upon hearing the latter open up.

"Can you at least try...?" Sunny asked unconfidently.

"Um...I mean...Okay, I think I got it." Taeyeon shifted in her swing before continuing. "You know how I at math?"

Sunny nodded immediately, remembering how Taeyeon and numbers don't mix.

"And you know how I at running and actually...every sport?"

Sunny nodded again, remembering the time Taeyeon failed the fitness test.

"And you know how I can't speak English well?"

"Yes, Taeyeon, I get it, you at a lot of things! Can we get to the point?!" Sunny asked.

"Okay I was going to! Well, it's because those things don't make sense to me. A lot of things don't make sense to me. How numbers can be added with letters like X, and how english words can have such difficult pronunciations. It just doesn't make sense to me..."

Taeyeon paused and that made Sunny want to jump in again to voice how off topic Taeyeon was being. But before the girl could complain, Taeyeon started again.

"But the one thing that makes sense is loving her. It makes sense that her hand fits in mine. It makes sense that her laugh soothes me and that her head sometimes falls onto my shoulder. It makes so much sense..."

"I still don't get it..." Sunny muttered. "How does that make sense? I'm just more confused..."

"Because I was meant to love her. My heart tells me it makes sense and I just can't question it."

Sunny looked down at her feet dangling from the swings. "Love sounds too crazy."

"I guess..."

The girls spent the rest of the day swimming in their own thoughts.

~~~~~~
"Taeyeon!"
The girl looked up from the magazine in her hands upon hearing her name.
"Oh, Jess, you're here."
"Yeah, sorry for taking so long. You know traffic." Jessica sat down in the seat across from Taeyeon before ordering herself a coffee.
"Why do you always invite me here?" Jessica asked.
"I don't know, I just like it."
"Or is it because this is where we first met?"
Taeyeon nervously chuckled, "I guess that too," she answered.
"You know Taeyeon...there's something I wanted to ask you about."
"Go ahead." Taeyeon drank from her now room temperature hot chocolate.
"You know...the reason I stopped talking to you all those months was because I had to do a lot of thinking."
"Yeah...?"
Jessica sighed and that made Taeyeon get anxious. They had only just made up again, what now?
"Before I started ignoring you like a jerk...I heard something. You know me, I always know everything."
Taeyeon nodded because it was true. Jessica knew a lot of people and always had the ability to know the recent gossip and details that even the people involved didn't know about.
"Well...I heard that you...I don't know, it's weird saying this out loud."
"You heard something about me?!" Taeyeon was surprised. She never opened up to many people. She always thought that the last person to have her business all out would be her.
"Yeah. Sunny and I were out drinking and she ended up telling me something." Jessica began fidgeting with her fingers looking uncomfortable.
"What did you hear, Jessica, get to the damn point." Taeyeon was annoyed and scared at the thought of one of her secrets being out in the open.
"I heard you liked me. And for a long time now, i-is that true?" Jessica said without lifting her eyes from her fingers.
It was out. The secret was out. Taeyeon didn't know what to do or say because she thought she'd die with the secret. She thought that Jessica was going to get married and have kids, while she was going to bury this secret to the grave.
"I...I don't know."
"You don't know...?" Jessica asked, finally looking at Taeyeon.
Taeyeon looked away feeling like her heart was going to jump out of her chest and find it's way to it's owner, sitting across the table.
"Jess, don't force me...please." Taeyeon begged feeling like there was no point in lying. Sunny was known to be an honest drunk and Taeyeon was a horrible liar.
"Okay, I-I won't. Let's go shopping?" Jessica offered, earning a nod from Taeyeon.
It was awkward. At least for Taeyeon it was. While on the other hand, Jessica seemed to think nothing of it- the girl shopped like there was no tomorrow.
"Taeyeon can you hold this while I go to the restroom?" Jessica asked handing her shopping bags to the stiff girl.
"Sure."
"Thanks." Jessica patted Taeyeon's head before leaving.
Taeyeon shifted her weight from one leg to another, feeling uncomfortable at this whole situation. Jessica knows. And she definitely wasn't interested. Ha, she knew that it'd turn out this way. At least when Jessica didn't know about her feelings, she'd have some type of hope to cling onto for comfort. Now that Jessica knows, that small amount of hope is crushed along with her fragile heart.
"Tae? Is that you?" Taeyeon heard, bringing her back to reality.
"Tiff?!"
"Oh my god! Long time no see!" Before Taeyeon could grasp the situation, she was engulfed into a hug. Tiffany might not have known, but at the moment Taeyeon really needed the comfort of another's body against her own.
"Man! How long has it been...two years? I haven't seen you since high school graduation! How's life going?" Tiffany asked and Taeyeon took note of how the girl never seemed to lose her enthusiasm.
"Could be better." Taeyeon breathed out.
"You're always so pessimistic! You need some Tiffany in your life. Let's go out for sushi or karaoke and catch up."
"Right now?" Taeyeon was stuck, she didn't want to leave Jessica but she also felt super uncomfortable being with her right now.
"She can't, she's already hanging out with me today." Jessica cut in seemingly coming from no where.
"." Taeyeon muttered under her breathe knowing Jessica was mad. Even Tiffany could feel the cold aura.
"Oh?" Tiffany said, "but does Taeyeon even want to be here?"
"Well obviously, we're best friends. Who are you?" Jessica was practically stabbing Tiffany with her eyes, Taeyeon could sense it.
"Come on Jess, she was just being nice. Why are you being so rude to her?" Taeyeon finally spoke up.
"You're taking her side?!"
"I'm not taking sides, she just didn't do anything to deserve your attitude."
"Attitude?! Kim Taeyeon! Who is your best friend, me or her!" Jessica demanded.
"Well, with the way you're acting, I wish it weren't you." Taeyeon said, finally becoming sick and tired of Jessica's on and off behavior. She felt strained and stressed from the crazy day she's had and Jessica acting like this just pushed her over the edge.
"Let's go, Tiff, I think I'll take you up on that offer."
With that, the two girls walked away from a silent Jessica.
~~~~~~

"I can't believe you had the balls to do that," Sunny said while swinging her legs back and forth on her swing.

"Me niether, to be honest." Taeyeon sighed.

"That's good though! She was being unreasonable, you did the right thing."

"You really think so?" Taeyeon felt bad for leaving Jessica like that. She had never been the one to get mad. All their previous problems were started from Jessica's anger.

"Of course! If it was me and not Jessica, I wouldn't have been so rude. Tiffany didn't do anything."

Taeyeon let out a long sigh.

"You're right, so I shouldn't apologize right?"

"Nope, let her come to you this time." Sunny encouraged.

"Thanks, Sunny."

"It's nothing...and I'm sorry about letting the secret slip. I really shouldn't drink anymore."

"What's done is done, don't beat yourself over it."

"Alright, well you should take it easy too, Taeyeon." Sunny patted her shoulder in encouragement.

"Right...take it easy." Taeyeon huffed, pushing herself harder up off the ground.

~~~~~~
"What are you doing?"
"Turning my phone off?"
"Yeah, I know. I meant why are you ignoring Jessica's calls." Sunny asked.
"Because I don't want to talk to her." Taeyeon answered in monotone.
"You know when I told you to wait for her to apologize last week, I didn't mean to play hard to get."
"I know...it's just...I think it's time to move on now." Taeyeon rubbed the back of her neck.
"You what?!" Sunny was taken aback. She had always advised Taeyeon to move on but the latter always used to say it was a lost cause.
"Yeah...our relationship's just too unhealthy. We always fight, she's always going through mood swings, and it's been too long."
Sunny smiled at Taeyeon. "I'm glad you're finally thinking for yourself. You deserve to be happy too, Taeyeon."
"Thanks, Sunny." Taeyeon smiled back.
"Oh, come here." Sunny pulled Taeyeon's swing closer before hugging her best friend.
~~~~~~

"Over here, Sunny!" Tiffany waved the short girl over to the table with Taeyeon waiting next to her.

"Hey guys!" Sunny greeted the duo.

"Taeyeon was just asking where you were." Tiffany said pointing to Taeyeon.

"Oh? You missed me or something?" Sunny teased.

"You wish, I was just wondering why you take so long. But then again, with those legs, you probably take twice as long as everyone else to walk." Taeyeon commented, receiving a slap in the arm. "Ow!"

"You kinda deserved that." Tiffany chuckled.

"Hey Taeng...?"

"What Sunny?" Taeyeon replied while rubbing her red arm.

"Isn't that Jessica coming over here?"

"Huh?" Tiffany and Taeyeon both looked over to see that indeed, the blonde walking over was Jessica.

"H-hi." The blonde greeted.

"Hey." Only Sunny replied.

"Taeyeon...can we talk?" Jessica asked timidly.

"I'm kind of busy right now." Taeyeon replied coldly.

Everyone was taken aback by Taeyeon's tone. Taeyeon had never been the one to hold grudges.

"Please?"

Before Taeyeon could dismiss the blonde's request, both Sunny and Tiffany elbowed Taeyeon's side.

"Fine."

Jessica let out a small smile before leading Taeyeon outside.

"Say what you want and hurry up. It's cold." Taeyeon demanded making Jessica's smile fade into a frown.

"Look, I'm sorry. I know what I did was rude and stupid."

"I know you're sorry, I recieved all twenty of your apology texts." Taeyeon said looking down at her toes. It was hard for her to keep her front when Jessica looks like a lost puppy.

"Why are you still mad at me then? You ignore my calls! You never answer your door! You tell Sunny not to tell me anything about you and how you're doing! What did I do wrong?!" Jessica asked raising her voice.

"I just have to hate you." Taeyeon muttered, barely audible.

"Why? Taeyeon, why! I miss you. I miss my dorky best friend."

"Jessica, just stop."

"Why!!" Jessica yelled now crying.

Taeyeon looked up upon hearing the girl's sobs. "Hey, don't cry."

"Taeyeon, why? Why can't we be best friends again?" Jessica fell down to her knees sobbing harder.

"Because! I'm tired of hurting! I feel stupid. I love you to the point where I forget how to love myself. Let me breathe Jessica, please. If I try to hate you, it makes moving on a little easier." Taeyeon said getting teary eyed too.

"Taeyeon..." Jessica looked up at her former best friend.

"Leave Jessica. Maybe we can be friends again when I get over you."

"Don't." Taeyeon heard Jessica say making her stop in her tracks.

"What?" Taeyeon asked.

"Don't get over me."

"You're being selfish Jessica. You can't keep me as a friend that way."

"No Taeyeon, don't get over me because I like you too." Jessica said sniffing.

Taeyeon froze. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. "Jessica stop trying to hold me back. You're just going to hurt me even more."

"No Taeyeon, I mean it. I love you, and I'm not just saying this to keep you as a friend..."

"Why?"

"I don't know, does there have to be a reason to like someone?" Jessica asked getting off the floor to face Taeyeon eye to eye.

"I can't believe you if you don't support your claim." Taeyeon said.

"Well, you know how I always get mad at you?"

Taeyeon nodded frowning at the memories of their many countless fights.

"I realized after Sunny confessed that you liked me that I always started getting mad at you after seeing you with others. I guess I'm kind of...possessive? I don't know! When I see you talking to other people it makes me boil. So when I saw you and Tiffany chatting, I wanted to rip her head off!" Jessica was rambling, not noticing how Taeyeon was smiling.

"You're always so nice and it because that means you can't say no and can't realize when they're openly flirting with you!"

"Jess...?"

"And when they hold your hand! Oh my god it makes me want to burn their fingers in cooking oil!"

"Jess!"

"What!"

"Just shut up and kiss me."

"Huh...?" Jessica said before Taeyeon pulled the girl's face closer. "Well okay then." Jessica breathed out.

Taeyeon grinned before finally pressing her lips against the latter's. It wasn't anything rough and passionate like in the movies, but it was enough to release a thousand butterflies in Taeyeon's stomach.

"You talk too much." Taeyeon said with a smile.

"Well if you're going to shut me up like that, then I wouldn't think of it as a bad thing." Jessica smirked.

"Oh really now?"

"Definitely."

"Oh my god! How cute!" The two girls heard making them break apart. When they turned to see the source of the noise they realized it was Tiffany and Sunny spying on them.

"Come out guys, we see you."

"Oh god." Sunny whispered. "Your god damn mouth, Tiffany!"

"Sorry." Tiffany whispered back guiltily.

"Hey guys!" Sunny waved while acting innocent.

"Don't you 'hey' me." Taeyeon snapped back.

"Why are you so crabby! I'm just happy my best friend won't die alone!" Sunny yelled making Taeyeon pinch the girl.

"You act like I don't have Ginger."

The two best friends continued to bicker while Taeyeon's grip on Jessica's hand never loosened. Jessica smiled to herself loving how Taeyeon's hand fitting so well in hers, just made so much sense.
